H.e.r.o. - Chapter 42
Helios had already finished cleaning the last male restroom in the building that he had been assigned to as part of his punishment. Looking at himself in the mirror,
‘It seems my body did not sustain any long-term injuries thanks to this cultivation technique I recently practiced.
The compression ratio seems to be sufficient for now, but I know stronger opponents are gonna be a problem in the future I have to make the ratio more efficient.’
Helios said to himself while checking his body if he received any injury after being hit by the gold coated fist multiple times.
Helios sighed and continued,
‘After my one year of training in Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do, everything that I worked hard for just turned into a street brawl when I start to fight someone in close quarters. Looks like my experience in hand to hand combat is still miniscule,
Helios sighed again, pondering about the weight of his past decisions if it was worth it or not,
‘I need to pass the Survival Course in order to get in any of the Combat Subjects rather, to stay in this university.’
As Helios walks out of the Male Restroom, he was greeted by Rizal who happened to be passing around that area saying,
“Hey Helios, we heard that you’ve been in a fight with Hagen and his gang,” said Rizal, while checking if Helios sustained any injuries.
“And we also heard that you’ve been punished to clean the men’s restroom for two months,”
he added with an obvious grin in his face.
“Yeah and I just finished cleaning the restroom that was assigned to me,
“By the way, do you reckon’ if this university has a training ground that students can use to hone their abilities or something? Kinda like a gym, ‘cept for; ya know magic, er, I mean ability.”
“Yes, and as matter of fact, I’m actually going there now. This hallway leads to the intersection going to one of the many training grounds around the island,”
Rizal responded.
“Then let’s go!” said Helios.

At a rooftop somewhere in the campus.
Hagen along with his lackeys approach Thomas Morgan, a slim, handsome, silky smooth-skinned guy, who wouldn’t look out of place in any of those K-pop bands Helios used to watch in his previous life who for some reason, was leaning at the railing of the rooftop.
“So, were you able to cripple the bastard?” Thomas asked Hagen.
“No, the kid has a very strong body, even after he received my Auros Fist, he didn’t even get a bruise, nor a scratch,
“I even get the feeling he was just goofing around, since not once did I see him use an ability,
“That kid is bad news, if you ask me.”
Hagen explained.
“Hmmm, I see. Although you weren’t able to give him any injury, we did manage to gauge his power even if it’s just the tip of this proverbial iceburg,”
Thomas remarked as he approaches Hagen,
“By the way, I have another job for you and your lackeys,”
“What kind of job?” Hagen asked,
“Ohh it’s nothing complicated. You just make sure no club will be interested in recruiting Helios, I’m sure you and your ‘friends’ in each of the school clubs can curry you that favor, am I right?”
“That won’t be a problem, practically, the entire campus hates him. But it’s going to cost you more credits than what you’ve paid for our previous job”
“Hagen my old friend, money is of now concern, check your account, I’ve already wired some to you even before we had our little conversation,”
Thomas wittingly said as Hagen checked to see in his phone that the credits had already been transferred.
After seeing the amount, Hagen’s expression changed from serious to ecstatic,
“Then we take our leave for now. We’re gonna have a nice chat with the other clubs in the campus,”
then Hagen and his gang left the rooftop. And Thomas was seen with an even more sinister smile.

Helios and Rizal arrived at the Administration building.
Helios asked, “Why are we in the Admin, I though ‘cha were s’pose to bring me in the training hall,”
“Did Hagen’s punching turn you into an idiot or something? You need you student ID to enter any of the training facilities in the campus,”
“Oh! R-right, o’course I knew that!”
After receiving their ID’s, they now went to the training ground which was located far east of the their course building.
The training hall didn’t seem like a ‘hall’ at all, and looked more like a collesium, with a huge circumference, plenty of seats but no Windows. Everything’s self-contained but with plenty of safety features to adhere to the Ability user’s needs.
Rizal guides Helios to one of the vacant rooms in the training ground, inside the room, the floor and the wall was made out of a strange white material.
“How did this room become a training ground, it doesn’t even have equipment?” Helios remarked,
” Hahahaha” Rizal started mockingly laughing at Helios,
“Boy, have you been living under a rock or something!?” Rizal said,
“This whole room no, this entire Stadium is made out of a strong Mimetic material that can take form of various battle environments,” Rizal explained.
“* whistle* so it can even do a battle simulation?”
Helios curiously asked.
Rizal nodded and said,
“It can even mimic the temperature, and tenacity of the material so long is it doesn’t exceed the natural modulus of the Mimetic material itself,”
“Okay-okay Einstein, enough of the nerdy talk, so how’dya make this thang work?”
“You just need to swipe your ID in this blue colored tile and the Simulation will activate,”
Rizal said as he swiped his ID in the tile that was beside the entrance door.
“Then you need to select the settings that you like, for example a one on one duel,”
A human dummy materialized at the center of the room.
“You also need to pay 200 contribution points to use this facility for one hour,” Rizal added.
“Wait, so it’s not for free!?”
Helios complained,
“And if I ran out of contribution points, how do I get more of this?”
“To earn contribution points you need to do missions in the Vault of Babylon, and to do that, you need to become a member of any club that is registered to the Hall of Babylon,” Rizal said,
“For now, you can use this facility for free for about a week as a freshmen, but eventually, you’re gonna need to rack out some points to keep training,
“Not to mention, the contribution points are used to buy other stuffs,” he added.
“Alright then, can I try it!?” Helios asked with enthusiasm.
“Sure, knock yourself out!” Rizal replied with a smile.
Hearing Rizal’s approval Helios then covered his whole body with his signature compressed cosmic energy armor, which he haven’t named yet, and is very annoying to type, have mercy on the editor author-san!
“LEEEERRRRROOOOOOY JEEEENKINSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Helios shouted as he recklessly charges into the dummy that was standing in the center of the room, tackling it, but when he was a few inches away from the dummy, the dummy instantly jumpes and uses Helios head as a footing, then it literally give Helios a kick in the butt which causes Helios to crash into the floor.
Rizal chuckled.
As Helios was about to go up, the dummy kicked his body down again, causing him to stay down on the floor like some skinned animal rug.
“WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!!” Helios shouted to Rizal.
“Ohhh, sorry about that, I accidentally chose the “KICK MY ASS” difficulty for the dummy,”
Rizal wittingly remarked!
“FUCK YOU JOSE RIZAL!”
Helios shouted while he was being spanked by the dummy back and forth, as Rizal cunningly took a picture with his phone.
