Handsome Devil (COMPLETED) - Chapter 13:SPECIAL CHAPTER
Thank you so much for being a part of Orland and Yna’s life reading this far with me.
I enjoyed telling their story to you all through my words. And I hope you like reading it with me.
Thank you again!
There may be a story for Royce Sy. And I am working on it.
Happily Ever After
It was a beautiful evening and I was making pumpkin choc chip cookies Orland’s favourite. Waiting for him to come home.
“Mama! More! Chocoss!” Our 3 years old Nicholas demanded clutching the hem of my dress in messy hands, he loved chocolates as all the kids do. And it pained to deny him more of the chocolate chips he was eating.
“No Nicki! You are not getting more chocochips!” I said firmly ruffling his brown hair. His lower lip quivered, his chubby cheeks flushed red with anger and he stomped his feet.
“Want chips! Mama! Bad!” He cried out. “Bad! Bad! Bad!” He looked so adorable.
“Mama!” He pulled my dress. When I didn’t say anything and just stared at him with a determined look of reprimand.
He slumped on the floor, his green eyes so much like Orland’s sparkling with a warning of an upcoming child’s tantrum. I sighed watching his tactics.
He had Orland’s bad temper. I bent down to pick him up but he was already up and running out of the kitchen shouting.
“Mama! Catch me! Mama!” I groaned.
“Nick, Stop this instant! Don’t run baby!” I was worried as he ran past the startled butler and turned sharply and run towards the main hall and right into Orland’s arms, laughing.
I smiled as I saw father and son laughing at each other. “Troubling your Mama, are you? My little boy.” He kissed Nicholas chubby cheeks and Nicki giggled.
When his eyes met mine, my heart skipped a beat. Every Time I saw him I felt so lucky that he was my husband. He came towards me holding our son in his arms and kissed me passionately.
“How was your day, wife.” He whispered against my lips. I smiled and said.
“Busy and quiet tiring, and yours?” I asked him, my hands resting on his waist.
“Hmm-I met Edmund today, and you know what?” He asked.
My smiled widened to hear about Dad. “What?” I asked.
“The old man was flirting with my secretary!” He laughed. I scowled at him.
“Really! You don’t believe me!” He squealed.
I punched him playfully and took Nicki from his arms. He was falling asleep. My sweet baby looked like an angel when he slept. I kissed him on his forehead.
“Come on, husband. You can’t be jealous of Nicki! You get your own share of kisses everyday.” I teased. “You know Orland. I think I love Nicki more.” I said feigning to be serious.
Orland caught the lobe of my ear in his mouth and sucked onto it.
“Is that so?” He whispered.
I moaned and he laughed. “I didn’t think so.” He said his voice sounded amused. I glared at him still rocking Nicki back and forth in my arms.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you, darling. I invited Royce over for dinner tomorrow and your father is coming too.” He said. I was delighted.
—
After tucking Nicki into his bed and changing into a nightgown I entered our bedroom. Orland was stretched on the bed, a laptop resting on his chest. He must have fallen asleep working.
I reached over to his side and slowly picked up the laptop and placed it on the bedside table. I pulled the covers halfway till his chest and kissed him on his forehead.
“I love you.” I whispered.
I was about to turn when Orland caught my arm and pulled me towards him. I ended up on top of him.
“Kiss me properly, Yna.” He demanded. His voice sound husky from sleep. I leaned down and captured his lips in a deep kiss and I was about to pull back when he stumbled me into the bed.
“I love you too, Mrs. Ashbourne.” He whispered.
—
Orland’s friend and cousin Royce Sy was sitting beside me for dinner at the dinning table and I couldn’t stop laughing at his silly jokes.
Dad was busy whispering endearments to Nicki who sat in his lap enjoying the candied apples. Dad enjoyed spoiling his grandson with sweets.
And Orland, he looked furious to see Royce whispering jokes in my ears. “Remind me to never again invite you to my home, Sy.” He growled from his seat next to Royce.
“Shut up, Ashbourne.” Royce joked and we laughed adding fuel to Orland’s anger.
“Cool down, boy. They are only
joking.” My father said frowning with disapproval at Orland.
This was not good! Orland had the devil’s own temper. I looked at Orland. He was eating his food silently. I felt bad for making him angry.
Little Nick slid down Edmund’s lap and went to Orland’s side. “Papa, I love you.” He said sweetly.
We all gaped at him. Nicolas was a late talker and was his first complete sentence. Orland lifted the boy in his arms. “I love you too. My little angel.” Orland replied, his voice sounded raspy and his eyes were suspiciously misty. I went over to my husband and son and hugged them both.
After Royce and Dad had left. Orland and I took little Nicki to his room. We sat beside his bed watching him sleep.
“I felt-I felt like the luckiest man, Yna. To hear our son speak.” Orland said his fingers brushing Nicholas’s hair. I smiled at him warmly.
“And I feel like the luckiest women to have you both in my life. Orland I can’t explain. How happy I am.” I choked out. My eyes filling with happy tears. He nodded.
“I know, I feel the same way, sweetheart.”
“Orland I want to thank you.” I said looking at my husband. His eyes widened.
“For what, my love?” He asked quiet puzzled.
“For kidnapping me all those years back. For giving me little Nicki. For being such a sweet husband. For being a great father to Nicki. The list is endless.” Tears slid down my cheeks and he made a soothing sound.
“Shhh. Darling it is I who need to thank you. I want to thank you for just being you.” He wiped my tears with his thumbs and kissed me.
“Come let’s go to bed.” He said and I smiled.
“I want a daughter too after all.” He teased. I laughed my mood restored and followed him out. I prayed to God that we that we live like this with love and laughter living our life in a happily ever after.
