Handsome Devil (COMPLETED) - Chapter 7:CHAPTER 5
Goodbye
I woke up to a harsh pain in my back and my body shivering from sleeping on the cold floor. I tried to get up and groaned. I grabbed the table beside me for support and pulled myself up.
I squeezed my tired eyes and tried the door handle and it clicked open! He had left the door open! I slowly walked outside stepping on the carpeted corridor and found a note stuck on one of the walls. I pulled the note from the wall and unfolded it.
Yna,
You are free to go, my guard Charles will be waiting outside the mansion.
Ashbourne
I was confused because I felt a deep sense of disappointment and I felt not the least bit happy about going home.
I wanted to say I realise. But would be disastrous for me and him both. So it was with a heavy heart that I decide to leave.
I packed some clothes and essentials, I was ready to leave when I saw his shirt from last night lying beside the bed and my eyes watered. I walked over to the bed and picked up the navy shirt and tucked it inside my bag.
I walked out the mansion not even in the mood to admire it’s magnificent beauty.
There was a black car outside waiting for me, and a man in his early 30’s stood beside it. He had black hair and blue eyes. He smiled kindly at me. “Ma’am. I am Charles I would be seeing you safely to your home.” I nodded towards him and asked my voice flat. “Where are we just now?”
He waved his hand around him. “We are on Boracay Island. Mr. Ashbourne comes here to seek out peace. It is in the family form his grandfather’s time.”
I nodded. So this is the well known Boracay Island. I sighed and Charles opened the door for me. I took one last look around and slid inside the car, we were off towards the shore and in no time I was on a ship on my way home.
Dear Orland,
I am thankful to you for letting me go. I don’t regret the time we spent together. Goodbye.
I sighed and walked over to Charles who was talking on phone. He hung up as soon as he saw me and frowned in concern.
“Did you need something ma’am?” He asked.
I shook my head and handed him a note. “I want to give this to Orland. Tell him I said goodbye.” With that I walked away towards my cabin.
I sat on the bed. I would be in Manila by tomorrow. Tears slid down my cheeks. I would be back in my old life without Orland.
