“RUN! THIS CHICK IS CRAZY!” a bandit ran for his life before he was hit by a small dagger in the back. Another bandit jumped into a pool of water as blue flames burned his back
All of the forces of the bandit camp is being attacked by a single hooded girl, a legendary fire witch adventurer called “Fahrenheit Kate” or Kate for short. Her emotionless expression stayed over her face as she battles with a whole group of trained bandits with ease
The bandit leader hid behind one of their camp’s fortifications. His entire group is getting slowly getting eliminated
“Shit! I’m not getting caught here. Not today, not tomorrow!” The bandit leader saw an empty carriage. He dashed for it to escape this place as fast possible
“Hey” a single monotone voice called out. The bandit leader paused and turned around to see Kate
“Um, can you please tie yourself? I’m already tired dealing with the other bandits” the hooded adventurer said as she threw some rope on the ground. The bandit leader stared at Kate with a confused expression
“Ha? Are you an idiot? I’m not tying myself!” The bandit leader exclaimed as he tried to run away
“Well, suit yourself then” the bandit leader heard before he saw and whip coming towards him. He effortlessly dodged the whip with a mocking face
“Ha! You missed!” The bandit leader thought
CRACK!
Another whip came out of nowhere and wrapped around his legs, causing to fall over. He looked at Kate with dual wielding whips.
“Dual Whips?! That’s impossible! A whip is too unpredictable to control 2 whips like that!” the bandit leader
“But I can. Now, I gave you a chance to tie yourself so don’t try to cry if my whips are too tight” A sadistic look replaced the emotionless face Kate had. The bandit leader looked at her with fear
Kate’s hands started to glow blue

The whips flared with blue flames burning the man covered with whips

In a nearby village, villagers and adventurers walked through the village. All of them are doing their specific tasks with such glee. The village was peaceful
Focus on the term “was peaceful”
“Oh my” a woman gasped
“Geez, poor guy” a man said with pity
“Kate did it again” an adventurer commented
Kate is dragging the burnt and unconscious bandit boss with her whip as she walked towards the guild building. Several people witnessed an odd scene and gasped in shock. Kate made a name of herself around these parts a long time ago. But they can never get used to seeing Kate dragging each enemy she defeats
Kate finally reached the guild building as she kicked the door open. Several adventurers look in silence at the hooded girl. As she walked towards the receptionist
A tense atmosphere was emanating coming from Kate. No one made a sound, as their eyes followed
“I completed the quest” Kate said monotonously to the guild receptionist
The receptionist groaned a tired sigh, “Kate, I know your job is dangerous but can you hold back a little?” the receptionist asked
“I told him to tie himself up but he refused” Kate replied
The receptionist looked at the tied and burnt man, “That’s him alright. Is he still alive?” the receptionist asked
Kate paused for a second before whipping the body a bit, causing the bandit boss to yelp in pain
“Yes” Kate responded
“She wasn’t sure” All of the adventurers thought at the same time
The bandit boss was put in one of the empty jail cells. As she waited for her reward
“Okay, here you go. 8,000 gold pieces” the receptionist brought a bag of coins. Kate stashed it to her cloak
“Are there any more S-rank quests?” Kate asked
“No, all of it is completed. By you of course” the receptionist replied
“I see. Please inform me if you find an S-rank” Kate said as she walked away
The adventurers of the guild sighed in relief as Kate went away. The legendary fire adventurer is extremely hard to deal with. Her icy expression pierced your soul with anxiety
“What an odd girl” The receptionist thought

Kate hummed softly and walked towards a lone table in the tavern part of the guild. The other adventurers just chatted and ignored the hooded girl as she sat on her usual table
“Tabs, the usual please” Kate called a waitress. She nodded in response and prepared for her order
Kate slumped on her chair, “Finally done with daily quests. What to do next?” Kate wondered as the waitress came back with her order. A plain beer with boar meat. A standard meal for an adventurer
She began to eat, she huffed a bit as she sips a bit of her beer. A pair of adventurers noticed the lone girl eating by herself
“Woah, Kate is really the perfect girl! Brawns and beauty in the same package!” a male adventurer said in an enthusiastic voice as he watched the Kate slowly brink her beer
“Cart, stop spouting before she hears you. You don’t want her to go whip crazy on you” his friend advised
“That its, dude. I’m going to talk to her and tell my true feelings!” Cart said with courage (foolishness)
“Don’t, she’ll whip so bad that’s you’re going to be scarred for life” his friend said
“What? She can’t be that bad” Cart replied
His friend sighed in annoyance as he saw Cart already walking towards with a blissful smile
“Hey, Kate! There something I want to sa-” Cart suddenly tripped causing Kate’s drink to spill in her surprise, soaking her cloak. All of the adventurers of the guild gasped
Kate looked at her stained robe and looked at the idiotic adventurer caused this to happen. Cart looked at threatening glare of the girl
“Hey, what’s the big idea?” Kate expression turned stone cold as she stared at the poor boy
“Sorry! It was an accident!” Cart pleaded in fear
“Take cover!” the other adventurer hid behind the tables, including Cart’s friend
Cart looked nervously at the hiding adventurer with looks telling him that he won’t survive this
“Since you made my clothes wet. It would be natural to dry them off, right?” Kate said in a menacing tone
“Yes?” Cart started to shiver in fear
“All I need to do is to find a fuel source” Kate brought both her whips already ignited with blue flames
“<igniiiiitttte!!!>” Kate exclaimed as Cart screamed in anguish
A blue light suddenly flashed in the guild, causing the people outside to look at the guild building
The adventurers hiding came out to see a girl with completely dry clothes and a boy sizzling with smoke and with a whip around him. The boy had swirls for his eyes, completely knocked out
“Idiot” Cart’s friend commented
“There goes Kate again” a random adventurer said
“Truly a legendary adventurer” another adventurer said

After that ordeal, the adventurers went to their usual activities. Kate is still relaxing in her table alone. The other adventurers gossiped as the rumor of the boy being burnt by her is spreading
“Kate, how you been?” A waitress greeted her
“Nothing Tabs, just the usual quest and a daily perv trying to flirt with me” Kate said casually
“You never change Kate. How about joining a party this time?” Tabs said
“No” Kate immediately refused
“Come on Kate, you’ve been in solo for at least 5 years now. Surely an adventurer partner won’t bother much?” Tabs suggested
“You already know I don’t work with others, they’re likely to drag me than help me” Kate said with a cold voice. She’s a literal ice queen to others and a lone wolf
Tabs sighed, “You know being a legendary adventurer is great but you need to at least to find someone to look after you in future. Like a lover perhaps?” Tabs said with a smirk
“Nope, definitely not. I accepted to be alone for the rest of my life” Kate said seriously
“Your loss, guess” Tabs gave up trying to persuade Kate
This is practically Kate’s life. Being adventurer is the only thing she does. Every day in 5 years of her adventuring. And after all of that, it made Kate question herself…
“Is this the only thing I’m going to do in the rest of my life?”
“Am I just fated to do this?”
Kate’s train of thought was interrupted by a door opening. All of them looked at the visitor that has entered the adventurer’s guild
“Um… I’m here for a request” a little girl asked shyly
“Huh?” They all said
“I need someone to escort me to the Mystic City” the girl asked

“HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” Laughs echoed the guild building. Kate covered her ears and wished for silence
All adventurers paused for a bit before laughing out loud. The little girl was confused
“Hahahahaha! That’s a funny kid! Nobody goes to the Mystic City!” an adventurer said
“I’m not joking! I’m needed there for something important!” The little girl rebutted
“Listen, kid, we’re adventurers, not charity. Unless you have something to offer, you better scram” another adventurer commented
“Then I’ll pay you when we get there! I guarantee it!” The little girl said
“Hah? Like a little girl has something worth to offer” The adventurer said
“Then, here’s proof!” The little girl revealed her shoulder, red runes was seared like a birthmark. All of them gasped in surprise
“T-That’s… the royal seal. She’s the real deal” All of them was surprised
“Do you believe me now? Now please accept my quest!” the little girl pleaded
Most adventurers had an unsure expression in their faces. The quest is quite complicated than it would seem. A trip to Mystic City requires at least months of walking and supplies. Not to mention this girl is royalty, a honeypot for bandits to kidnap. The risk was not worth it
“Please, anyone?” the little girl begged. The adventurers remained quiet and averted their eyes
“Sorry kid, maybe next time” An adventurer said
The little girl was a bit sad, “It’s okay, I’ll find someone else to ask to” the little girl start to leave the building
Kate watched the girl walk away, “Of course they won’t take that quest, the risk is too big for the reward” Kate thought
“And to be honest, I would do the same. Not only you have to worry for yourself, but you need to deal with a little kid as her” Kate continued
Kate was going to let the girl walk away, but suddenly she saw something that caught her eye
A blue pendant with a butterfly crest hanging around her neck
Kate’s eyes widen as she recalled a memory of the item from her childhood
“Wait, was that the…” Kate stared at the pendant in the little girl’s neck
“Hey, kid!” Kate called out the little girl. Causing her to stop and look back
“Y-Yeah?” the little girl said
“I’ll take your quest” Kate said calmly
“WHAAAAATTT?!” All of the member guilds exclaimed
They all swarmed Kate with a ton of questions
“Seriously? Kate, you’re really doing this?!” Tabs said
“Fahrenheit Kate is taking the quest?!” another adventurer shouted
Kate ignored the annoying screams of the other adventurers, “Just to be clear, I’m doing this for the reward. No other reasons, okay?” Kate said out loud
The adventurers calmed down and left Kate alone
“Lady, are you really taking my quest?” the little girl said
Kate paused for a second as she remembered the pendant in her neck. Her eyes tensed in serious intent
“I need to know how she got the pendant. I need to observe quietly” Kate thought
“I will escort you to the Mystic City” Kate said. The little girl eyes shine in happiness
“Thank you! Nice lady!” the little girl thanked her. Kate’s heart throbbed for a bit, her cuteness is no match for her icy attitude
“Just don’t be too annoying. I’m free to abandon this quest if I wanted to” Kate said in a cold fashion. The girl remained cheerful
“Hai! My name is Lucia by the way!” The little girl said cheerfully
“Fine, let’s prepare supplies for the journey” Kate said and walked outside the guild building as Lucia followed her
