Eilene is writing Jess’ homework in her desk at the far side of the library “Hi Eilene!” May said causing the girl to look up
“H-Hello Um” Eilene saw Eren with a black eye
“Yo” Eren responded casually
“W-What h-happened to Eren?” Eilene said
“Oh, he just tripped on a book. Isn’t that right, Eren?” May said in a cheerful way, Eren nodded nervously
“So Eilene, let’s get started in the draft” May said. Eilene nodded as she put away Jess’ homework and brought up an empty book
The rest of the afternoon went by as May and Eilene writing the draft and Eren organizing the files. The serene atmosphere really calmed May and Eren. Eilene smiled as she occasionally helped other students in the library as the secretary of the library
“There, all finished” Eren sighed as he finished his work
But something caught Eren’s eye. He saw Eilene reaching for a book on the top shelf. Eilene stretched her arms to reach it but she was too short. To be honest, it’s kinda cute
“You know you can ask for help” Eilene jumped in surprise as she heard Eren talking to her. She ignored him and reached for it again. Suddenly, she felt someone lift her and she finally grabbed the book. She looked down and blushed. Eren is lifting her up from the waist
“There, see? Isn’t it better to ask for help than doing it yourself?” Eren said with a smile
“Eren…” Eilene blushed

“Well let’s go home May” Eren packed his things and started to leave the library. They bid goodbye to Eilene. May followed him also and walked home with him
May sighed
“What’s wrong?” Eren sensed his troubled friend
“The Tournament, it’s starting 2 weeks from now. I have to practice real hard now” May said with her fist in the air
“That’s great May! You’re finally competing with professionals now!” Eren praised May “But what’s wrong? Isn’t this why joined track and field?” Eren questioned her
May turned her head away from Eren and pouted “I won’t get to hang out with you more often” May said quietly
Time froze…

“Well, you better start running again to improve your time” Eren blows his whistle “Start running, May!”
May groaned as she started to run again “Fine! I’ll keep running!”
Eilene saw them training on the way out, “I wonder what are those up to?” she thought
The Next Day
May was depressed. After all that work, she couldn’t improve her time “Hey May, is there something wrong?” one of her teammates said
“I’m okay. I’m next right?” May said. “Yeah, the coach said it’s time for the daily run” her teammate replied
May went to the track
“Ok, on your marks” the school coach began the timer

GO!!!
May sprinted as fast as she can. Suddenly she noticed Eren watching her. The school coach timed her run
“43.32 sec…” her school coach said “… a new record for the school’s top athlete” the coach clapped with few of her teammates also clapping in admiration
“Wait, WHAT?!!” May couldn’t believe it. Yesterday, she couldn’t get faster than a minute. But how did she get faster?

Wait! Could it be! May glared at Eren in the crowd
May marched to Eren with an angry expression her face and hit him in the side. Eren crumpled to the ground
“You timed my runs wrong, didn’t you?! Dummy!” May shouted at Eren
“I did with purpose…” Eren said crumpled on the ground in pain
“What kind of purpose?!” May still angry at him
“To motivate you, to push you harder” Eren said in pain
“And how do you know that would work!” May exclaimed
“Because you’re the type of person who never gives up until you get you wanted” Eren replied
May was a little bit surprised at his answer. Most of the time, he would just pick the most normal solution as possible but Eren really gave a long thought on being her coach
“He really knows about me” May thought
“W-Well, thank you” May calmed down a bit

“Y-You’re welcome” Eren tried to say
“Right, Coach let’s start training” as May dragged Eren to the track
“Ehhh?! Already?” Eren complained as he was dragged
“Yup!” May said cheerfully
Eren sighed with a teasing smile on his face “Is this how you treat your coach? I won’t be soft training you this time” he said with a cheeky smile
May sighed “You really are an idiot,” May thought as she smiled back
