The whole week went by with Eren helping the library committee and training May for the tournament

May and Eren just finished their daily training. “That’s enough for today May” Eren pockets his stopwatch. “Okay, it’s 1 week before the tournament. I’m really excited!” May said as she gathered her things

“Yeah, but don’t forget to have fun” Eren said with a wink

May looked at Eren with a deadpanned face “Did you really say something so cliche?”

“Hey! I tried my best!” Eren complained

May started to giggle “OK, I’ll have fun”. Eren smiled at her

They started to leave school but suddenly May started to rummage to her backpack “Wait, I forgot something. I’ll be right back Eren” May runs towards the library

Eren just chuckled at his best friend’s forgetfulness “That girl” Eren said

“Wait, what?” Eren suddenly heard people talking. He tracked down the source of the sound. He peeked behind a corner and saw 3 girls surrounding Eilene “What are doing with Eilene?”

“So Eilene dear, did you finished my homework yet?” Jess said. Eilene handed a piece of paper to the bullies. Jess checked the paper then frowned.

“What’s this?! It’s half done!” Jess was pissed

“I-I didn’t have time to f-finish it” Eilene said quietly. She’s just been too busy rewriting the draft that she ran out of time to write Jess’ homework

“I gave you a second chance and you still failed? Someone needs to teach you a lesson!” Jess raised her hand to slap her. Eilene just braced for impact

But Jess’ wrist was grabbed by Eren stopping her “That’s enough, Leave her alone” Eren said to the bully in a menacing tone

“Eren” Eilene stared at him with tears on her eyes

“Who the hell are you? Stay out this!” Jess tried to get out Eren’s grip

“No” Eren replied

“Get him!” Jess commanded her 2 friends now armed with baseball bats to attack Eren. Eren dodges one of the bat swings and blocked another with his arm. Then Eren swiftly grabbed both of the bats and takes them away from the girls’ grasp. He lets go of Jess’ arm

“Now get out of here before I call the teachers” Eren threatened Jess. Jess gritted her teeth “You’ll regret this!” Jess said before running away with the other 2 girls

Eren looked at running girls and over Eilene

“Eilene, are you okay?” Eren said to the crying scared girl

“W-Why did y-you save me? You even got hurt” Eilene looked at his bruised arm. The arm Eren used to block one of the bats

“It’s fine, just a little bruise” he said, “Plus”

“Well, isn’t it better to ask for help than doing it yourself?” Eren responded with a smile echoing the same words he said in the library

Eilene eyes widen in interest “This boy, he’s different from the others. He’s strong but he isn’t arrogant”

“Well, I better find May before she-” Eren was surprised by Eilene suddenly hugging him “Eilene, what are you-”

“Thank you for saving me Eren” Eilene said softly with a smile still embracing him

Meanwhile, a girl is watching the scene behind the corner of the building with a sad smile on her face. The girl sighed as she walked away

“You really are an idiot” May said wistfully as she walked home alone
