Harem God Of Origin (ATG) - Chapter 242
“What do you mean Xuan?” Yao asked him as she placed her palms onto his cheeks, making him face her and look her in the eyes, since she knew that he would never lie when he looked into her eyes.
“Haa…” Xuanyuan sighed as he then sat down against the back of the cherry blossom tree with Yao sitting next to him, he then started to stroke her lengthy hair as he spoke to her in a soft voice “A year after I entered seclusion, I reached a bottleneck… mainly because of my longing for you that I could not erase in my heart, so I journeyed outside the Heavenly Realm and visited some of the Mortal Planes so that I could get away and clear my mind”
“I did not expect to find a cavern that had the aura of the Void Dragon Clan, so I had to visit it to make sure that the clans bloodline had not seeped out into the lower realms, but when I entered the cavern, there was nothing there, only a stone tablet” Xuanyuan explained as he then brought out the tablet, which was a pale grey, stone table, it was chipping and had a few cracks, but the writing had remained, not tainted by the relentlessness of time like the stone itself had received.
“Void and Calamity… Yin and Yang”
“Thee long for power… protect thy mind”
“Bewareth of yond… yond shalt useth thee”
“Yond shall play thee… till the end of time…”
“What sort of language is this nonsense?” Yao asked, but she was focused more on the ominous warning on the tablet from what she could make out from the words.
“Ha… truly is my precious Yao… it is actually the words written from the Void Dragon God himself…” Xuanyuan muttered as he remembered seeing that Dragon corpse that caused him to kneel before it, his ancestor and his fellow Dragon Gods had left and disappeared millions of years ago, so for him to find it there was both blessing but a curse… since he knew that the tablet was the thing that his ancestor had worried about just before he died.
“Impossible… the Dragon God… is dead?” Yao muttered in disbelief as she placed her palm over the tablet, she could imagine the Void Dragon God creating it just before he passed, she silently prayed for the Dragon God.
“Yes… at that time I found the truth about everything from the past… as well as the truth regarding this world… which is why I am worried about which bloodline you awakened… can you tell me what happened in the time we last saw each other?” Xuanyuan asked softly, as she explained what she had done in the time she last met Xuanyuan.
“Well… after that night…” Yao started talking about her past, they spent hours under the tree as Yao talked about what happened, and Xuanyuan just smiled as he listened to her so called heroic tales.
“Well regarding my bloodline… in my sleep this weird looking ghost came into my dreams and said to me… ‘do you wish to reunite with Xuan?’” Yao said to Xuanyuan’s whose eyes squinted in response, but he did not respond to her and carried on listening.
“Since it was a dream I just said yes, and that weird ghost had an amused laugh, he started to cackle wildly as this colourless energy consumed me… and then the next thing I know I was awake… but something happened during my sleep that caused mother to announce the awakening of my bloodline…” Yao explained to him as his eyes became slightly happy.
“Calamity Dragon God ‘s bloodline… you actually awakened it…” Xuanyuan muttered as he smiled in relief.
“Calamity Dragon God? What is that?” Yao asked with a curious smile.
“I will explain later… do you think our plan earlier worked? Now that I have confirmation, we will have to leave the Heaven Planes for now…” Xuanyuan asked, even though he knew the answer, he just wanted to make sure she felt comfortable with leaving now.
“Un… although I don’t understand… I will listen to you Xuan…” Yao said as her mind went back to when they were just about to leave the Void Dome.
—
“Yao… I will likely have to face off against the Space Dragon God Clan… whilst I am comfortable with being able to defeat the patriarch…facing off against an entire clan, especially with an Ancestor at the Primal Martial Sovereign 9th Realm will cost me too much at this point… so I need for you to exact a play with me to ensure our clans survival…” Xuanyuan explained to her, and then told her what act they were about to play.
“Xuan… are you sure we have to do this? We can just run away…” Yao muttered as she didn’t want to break her father and mother’s heart with a lie.
“Yes we could run away… but there is no guarantee to how the Space Clan would react… after all they are the most ruthless, overbearing, arrogant clan out of the Dragon God Clans… and their Patriarch is one of the more sinister people I have encountered during my short life… plus they deserve death for ŀusting after you…” Xuanyuan explained, until he exploded with rage after he thought about how that waste of flesh Yu Feng dared to attempt to take his beloved Yao away using his clans power.
“That is the reason why… hehe” Yao giggled softly, the sounds of the bells of nature rang in Xuanyuan’s head, causing him to smile slightly as he undid the dome.
—
“Yao’er… that ghost… he is the King of the Dragon Gods… the hidden being behind the Dragon Gods who rules all the realms whilst being unknown to all… he only revealed himself to me because he wished for me to become the successor of the Void Dragon God, and return the realms to its former glory” Xuanyuan said as he then explained to her what happened after he found the tablet.
—
“Ancestor…” Xuanyuan kneeled and kowtowed before the intact body of the Void Dragon God, even though millions of years had passed, with all the records of the Void Dragon God passed down, there was no way a descendant of the Void Dragon God would mistake its appearance.
“It seems yond fateth dost naught sideth with me imp” a majestic voice resounded from the corpse of the Void Dragon God, as a dark purple silhouette emerged from corpse.
“Ancestor…” Xuanyuan kowtowed once more, even if he smiled wryly at the fact that he had been called an imp.
“I canst only pray yond thee canst escapeth from the fateth thee unknowingly bound thyself too… good luck imp…” the Void Dragon God spoke as his silhouette disappeared, Xuanyuan stood up and said his prayers.
Although Xuanyuan expected to converse with his ancestor for some answers, he did not care much for it as he prayed after his ancestor’s final, that could finally depart to the underworld.
What he didn’t notice was the dark purple orb that merged itself with the necklace Yao made for him all those years ago.
Collecting his ancestor’s corpse, he preserved it inside a spatial cube so that he could conduct a proper ceremony for his ancestor, before he moved towards the inner section of the cave.
“Huhuhu… my entertainment has finally arrived… uhuhuhu…” Xuanyuan heard the eerie yet ‘joyful’ laughter that emerged from behind him as he turned around to see a colourless silhouette that had no identifiable shape or appearance appear before him.
“Who are you… do you know anything regarding my ancestor’s death?” Xuanyuan asked warily as he prepared to leave this place if necessary.
“Huuhuu… boy… do you want to know who your ancestor was? He is the person who I granted half of my power to… since his life was ending, he obviously came back to me so that I could find my new successor…” the screeching voice said as Xuanyuan imagined ‘it’ smiling as he said it.
“So, what are you then?” Xuanyuan asked after he felt no hostility from this person, and if he did grant his ancestor his power, there was nothing that would stop him from dying if this thing wished it so.
“Huhuhu… you really will be an entertaining one… you seem to embody ‘misfortune’… aaaahhhh… so temptiiiiing…” the voice said joyfully as the hairs on the back of Xuanyuan’s neck immediately stood on their ends.
Seeing Xuanyuan not respond, the existence somewhat felt bored as his initial reactions satisfied him greatly, but now he was acting like all the others.
“Boy… I will grant you the power your ancestor held, in return you only have to follow the rules that all the others who held that power did before you… tell me… are you willing to hold that power… take it as your own?” the voice asked with great curiosity.
“Will it make me forget? Forget her?” Xuanyuan asked as he held his heart.
“Wuhuhuhu… ahahahah… yes of course… one of the rules is that the holder of the void must be unified with the holder of calamity… otherwise the consequences are simply… incomprehensible… ehehahaha…” the existence laughed continuously as he realised that this boy may be the one.
“Unified? Yes… if I am with another woman… I may finally sever my feelings to her…” Xuanyuan muttered as he almost hypnotised himself into believing what was happening was good for him, not realising the existence’s energy was floating around his head.
“I see then boy… will you become the second successor to the Void?” the ghost like existence started to spin around happily as he asked.
“Un… my ancestor held the position before… since that is the case it is only right as his descendant to fulfil the mission that he could not achieve in life…” Xuanyuan nodded as he then walked towards the ghost like existence who was leading him towards the inner sanctum whilst laughing loudly.
