Harry Potter: A Fan Fiction - Volume 1 Chapter 25 Old Fagg
“Old man, I’m sure you don’t know who I am and there’s no point in finding out. I only have a couple of questions for you.”
A frail old man he looked like, but the billowing scream of magic around him tells people’s subconscious that he is a very, very, very dangerous person. He is Gillert Grindelwald one of, if not the most powerful dark lords in history and in front of him is a child seemingly oblivious of such a fact even calling him old and such. He however knew himself that no simple kid can escape unscathed from the castle he himself built, the Nurmengard. He grew more and more curious and mistified by the young man in front of him. He looked to be in his mid twenties with lean build and tall stature. His eyes are sharp and his magic is like the abyss. He was unable to tell at all.
“What do you want from this old man then? My child.”
“Ohoho. You make me laugh with this petty mind tricks of yours old fagg, do it again and your head will roll down the floor next. I will forgive you just this once since I’m in a good mood today hahaha.”
Gillert would have never expected what had just occurred. He tried to probe a kids head only to be trapped and tortured inside for a whole year. When he came back to reality he was already rolling in pain from the shock his head received, as his eyes and ears bled.
“Ugh, you have grown old and weak. Clean him up and take him to me after, he stink of blood, piss, and feces. Make sure to feed him too.”
The young man disappeared and he was surrounded by shadows with golden eyes who took him away to be cleaned, clothed and fed.
‘I have been away for such a long time and doesn’t have enough information, the kid does not seem to harbor ill intent towards me as of yet, maybe I should listen to him first before I take action.’
Gillert was running his head as he followed the shadow in front of him. Now that he noticed it he’s been walking for quite a while in this very luxurious and wide hallway lined with red carpet with golden embroidery and marble floor, walls and pillars which are also lined with gold and precious gems.
‘A rich man, I suppose. Look at those hybrid dragon plants. These walls are nigh impregnable and indestructible, not to mention lined with very advanced defensive enchantments. Well nothing that can’t be broken with some effort is worth a glance anyway.’
The shadow then made a turn and entered the huge gate-like door and vanished from view. He slowed down slightly but was pushed by the shadows behind him towards the door.
‘Merlin’s beard!’
He looked at the vast lands before him in shock. The sky is littered by flying beasts and dragons who nested on floating islands. One such island in particular which is avoided by these dragons has great golden castle on top of it. His hand was grabbed and they appeared in front of the castle gates. It is in fact big, bigger than anything he’s ever seen. Making him feel small and insignificant for the first time in his entire life.
‘Just what in the bloody hell am I dealing with?’
“Please take a seat Mr. Grindelwald. I only wish to speak to you and mean you no harm. Would you like some tea as we speak?”
The young man calmly talked and gestured towards a corner where a tray full of wares came flying in with trays of tea and snacks which it automatically served.
‘Handy.’
“Mr. Grindelwald, let me be frank, I would like to ask you to continue and finish what you started in the past. Create a world with unified races where us magical ones can be free to do what we want, from being ostracised as the devil spawn, from being shunned by the muggle kind, and from being feared for our power. Let us build a better world.”
“And if I say no???”
“Then you can go. Live out what remains of your pathetic life and stay out of my way. But you wouldn’t want that, wouldn’t you?”
“Indeed. But I want you to promise me one thing.”
“Speak.”
“I want the deathly hollows.”
“Done. Here.”
A box hovered in front of Gillert and opened revealing a black ring with a strangely shaped stone embedded on it.
“This is…”
“The Gaunt ring…. Also known as the ‘Resurrection Stone’ from the story of the bard. Also a horcrux as I assume you are already aware. Use the soul to your liking. I have already scoured its contents. It is very….. unpleasant. This is a contract I drafted. Sign it with blood and you will be part of my household.”
‘Maybe he is a devil of some kind? Well nothing hidden and full of benefits. Except I’ll be bound to his household for all eternity. A fair deal. A backer as large and powerful can only be found and not sought.’
He bit his right index finger and signed his name in the parchment scroll he was given. The words lit up as if on fire as the parchment started to burn leaving not even ashes behind forming a connection between him and his new employer.
“I bow to your will.”
He bent his knees and swore allegiance/subordination.
