Harry Potter: A Fan Fiction - Volume 1 Chapter 3 Realization
‘It is real.’
That is what he realised after when a house elf appeared and took Viktor to his own room.
‘So Viktor Krum huh so the year should be 1976 between April to August, he was in his final year when he joined the triwizard tournament and Harry is in his third year so it means that I am four years older and that theres fifteen years till the main storyline begins. That’s plenty enough time for me to,,, you know,,, be a real ‘Viktor’. Ahh….. this is gonna be like the vacation that I never had!’
Viktor giggled in excitement or chucked? Giggling for males is weird.
Having wizard for parents is quite odd, or his parents are odd. At least the way the Krums raised him is very odd. He was left to his own with only a house elf called Golie to nurse him. He is taken to his mother only when it is time to fulfil his needs. His father is rarely home due to some sort of scuffle between wizards and the neighbouring powers. I wonder who died in the wizarding war Viktor (the movie version) to have a negative view of the deathly hollows symbol and in turn to Grindelwald himself.
‘There’s no helping that though. I’m a side character with little to no part in the original plot, there’s so much to do.’
Being left to his own devices is probably for the best. He has a lot of reading to do after all, and it would be weird seeing a week old baby reading a book about the history of magic.
‘Golie’
“You called for me young master?”
‘Yes, bring me some books. Basic level ones.’
“It shall be done sir.”
The house elf aparated in and out of his room.
Unlike in the movies where house elves are seen as dumb creatures, his own house elf Golie is very smart and is capable of fluent speech.
‘Dobie must have been a special case for he is a dumb elf, or maybe he caught a dumbifying virus from our scarfaced protagonists. I don’t know. Haha.’
“These here sir is a set of the most basic books taught in Durmstrang.”
Golie appeared with a stack of books in hand which was then placed inside Viktor’s crib rousing him from his internal ramblings.
‘Let’s read about the history of the magic world first. I did not think this through. How am I going to lift that book which is bigger than I am? Telekinesis should help me out right?’
Lifting the book to eye level proved to be quite a task for our infantile transmigrator, so instead of lifting the book he decided to lift his own body and flip the pages. It took him five hours to read the seven inch thick book. This includes the time he spent with recovering his magic. It took one clear glance for him to memorise a whole page without missing a single letter. He didn’t have to read. He tried it in other basic books such as basic potion, basic arithmancy, basic transfiguration, basic charms, basic jinx and hexes and others with similar results. It was an extreme case of photographic memory, idietic perhaps? His brain like a computer in scanning a book and storing it in his brain for processing.
‘Well I was hailed as a genius before. Maybe this is how it feels to be a genius buffed by magic. All is well and life is good as long as it doesn’t affect me negatively it’s fine. Now to support my future researches I believe money is key.’
He looked at Golie with a smile and began instructing his personal house elf. The good old elf who is now bound to him can speak with him through telepathy and was able to receive his instructions for whatever evil it may bring to the world? He didn’t care.
