Harry Potter: A Fan Fiction - Volume 1 Chapter 50 Vamps Iii Remake
The cold silence of the night is the signal for most creatures of darkness to move about, hunt, and even party to simply enjoy their ever boring long lives that revolves around drinking wine and sleeping.
This night however is very different from every other night from before, there is a sticky feeling around the neck and a lingering tension in the air like a sword hanging above one’s head ready to claim one’s life anytime. It was an unsettling feeling, a feeling that made even the animals to choose silence than to get attention onto themselves.

The stillness of the night was stirred by blaring alarms and red lights, the vampires rushed out in full combat gear after hearing the alarm go off. They carried high powered guns and bladed weapons with them as they rushed forward. Unlike the wizards, the vampires saw the importance of technology and tried to develop their own based on the already existing muggle weapons. Their more experienced and knowledgeable researchers was even capable of outpacing the muggles in terms of technology by a couple of decades since they started the project bringing wealth to their coven. This of course is kept as a tightly guarded secret especially to the wizards who liked to believe that the immortal vampires are on a decline.
The vampires who reacted very quickly as they were trained under military discipline patterned after the muggle concept of a soldiers but on a vampire standards. You can’t ask a vampire to run twenty laps and expect improvements in their physique. In fact, the physique of a vampire mostly stagnates at the level of strength they are in at their birth (the moment they are converted) so training is simply to sharpen their mentality during an operation.

Projectiles came out of nowhere and exploded all over the place, some was blocked by the barrier that the vampires painstakingly set up from all those years prior but many was still able to break the defensive barrier, the projectiles embedded themselves deep into the ground before exploding with reckless abandon killing and trapping the unlucky ones who got caught in the controlled explosion.
The ground shook with each shot of explosive, the vampires who does not know how to fight are hiding inside the bunkers have become restless and headed further down on their leader’s order.
Vampire Lord William’s eyes reddened from anger. Murderous air flew about him, he could only bite his own teeth with no one to vent his frustration on. He cursed his own weakness and inability as he roared in anger as he watched his coven being ripped by the explosions.
“Why can we intercept these bombardment with our own defensive artillery?”
Vampire Lord William asked his defence officer who had his eyes closed at the moment.
“Sir we can’t shoot them all down as they are invisible, we can only use desperado shooting if we want to be able to intercept more of them.”
‘Random shots to cover a greater area? It’s like taking a cup of water to extinguish a burning carriage.’
Even the elders around William are shaking their heads clearly dissatisfied with the course of action the defence minister chose this time, but they did not voice out their feelings and simply placed more efforts into coming up with a plan to get them some positive results.
“Are you’re telling me that we have no way at all to counter this? At all?! What happened to the funds we alloted to your department?”
William is massaging the bridge of his nose at the moment clearly feeling some non existent stress coming his way, it was a habit that persisted even after being turned and becoming a vampire Lord, something instinctual to him.
“Ahemm… We didn’t account for the possibility of being attacked with invisible projectile bombs during our planning for the defence of the base. We do have a short distance invisibility detection for invisible infiltrators but not bombs. I am prepared for my due punishment for my neglect lord William. Do with me as you see fit.”
The officer knelt with his head down, clearly prepared for his demise at any given time as he made a miscalculation in this very important matter.
“Stand. Now is not the time to hurt each other. It’s a time for us to stand together and face this… this plague that is seeking for our extinction.”
Tears would have fallen down if the defence officer could still shed some but it has been long dried by the passage of time, only his renewed resolve and loyalty can be seen through his eyes.
“Sir!”
An officer suddenly appeared and called out to the defence officer who quickly passed the news to everyone present in the room.
“It looks like the antmen are currently fighting the enemy forces as we speak. They have appeared to surround our encampment and are equipped with advanced weapons that incorporate both magic and technology, the exoskeleton of the antmen aren’t even capable of taking direct hits from them without being damaged anymore.”
Thier faces grew dark with this new information. It was just yesterday that the enemies are fighting them with nothing but brute force and was already at an advantage, now that they are using weapons, what else can they do aside from waiting for their deaths?
‘Maybe we should have accepted their offer after all…’
Is the thought that lingered around in their heads. Who would have known that they were this powerful?
