Harry Potter: A Fan Fiction - Volume 1 Chapter 52 Defeat
“What is happening? Someone report the status of our troops!”
“It’s all static your lordship. The enemy must have some kind of jamming technology that is more advanced than our shielding.”
William is now looking around, Edward has been missing his touch as none of his ideas worked to their favor ever since the enemy army encountered their own. There has been no news of the vampire troops in the front line for a couple of minutes now, the last report was just about their encounter with the hostile forces reporting the enemy army status, after that they went radio silent with no further response or reports.
“Sir, we have visuals of the enemy army approaching the castle gate. What are your orders?”
An elder announced with a dark expression after hearing the report for himself from a guard on watch duty who quickly excused himself.
“What news of the other Lords?”
“Absolutely nothing your highness, not even a reply. I am afraid they could be in the same boat as we are, or worse, they might have already fallen to the enemy.”
“What of the other non-human tribes and groups?”
“The goblins are relying on the protection of the wizards and adopted a wait and see attitude on the matter while the other tribes refused to act as they believe this threat is only going to target our coven and thus will not affect their interests.”
The room grew quiet and everyone focused their attention to their Lord in his high seat who looked to be pondering the case. He looked at his household, the house he built for thousands of years who went through thick and thin with him on his journey.
‘Those fools… They would never have even thought of going against us…’
Finally, his eyes grew determined.
“We will fight! If we are to die today. We will die fighting! We will die with dignity! With honor! We will die as true nobles!!!”
*Boom*
*Boom*
*Boom*
The protego enchantments on the metallic gate broke down unable to cope with the intensity of the barrage from the incoming army of wolfmen who spared no ammunition at their disposal just to bring down the gates.
“Fire at will!!!”
The vampires who are under the protection of the barrier from the gate rushed to the front line firing shots at the enemies fully abandoning the idea of retreat. Their murderous eyes grew ever more ferocious as they rushed forward. A few breaths of time and they now stood face to face with their enemies who simply waited for their approach the bullets that managed to pierce their skin are expelled in real time by their regeneration and their wounds healed to look as good as they were before like nothing happened.
‘I can’t feel pain anymore? Or is it just that this degree of damage is simply negligible to me now? These poor sods… why would anyone want to fight with this king’s army?’
He looked at his fellow wolfmen, these warriors are battle tested, competent and loyal to their cause, their pack, and most of all their lord. Each one of them are taken from the muggle world where they suffered for the most part of their lives but now they are saved, and they are willing to pay this gratitude with their life.
‘Alright, they had their fun. Now let’s kill them all.’
“Fire at my cue!!!”
Warwick who led the troops signed hold with his fist after transmitting his order via the virtual network in their mark, when the enemy came close enough released his hand to signal ‘fire’ and shouted.
“Fire!!!”
Like when the Indians fought the Americans for the land using bows against guns. It was a massacre. The vampires didn’t stand a chance at all. They didn’t even last a for a few minutes and are downed in just seconds after they came face to face with the wolfmen army.
“Go inside! Go. Go. Go.”
The silent guns of the wolfmen fired magic generated lasers and metallic projectile enchanted with duplication charm and thus needed not be reloaded at all. Close to no physical damage can affect the wolfmen in the beginning and yet they were equipped with top of the line gadgets and gizmos, the vampires who lived like cats all their lives can only grit their teeth in regret and accept their fate.

“You should have accepted my master’s offer.”
The wolfmen parted to let their leaders see what is in front of them. Golie and Warwick looked to the front with expressionless faces as they offered their words of ‘comfort’.
William could be seen lying sprawled on the floor in a pool of his own blood with a lifeless look in his eyes. His entire coven is either captured or killed, he himself proved ineffective in dealing with the enemy on his own. Although alive, he wished he died to the gunfires for what is to come…
“Don’t worry, you won’t be alone in the future. Your friends are waiting for you in our base… Tsk… Take him away.”
Golie continued after a few seconds gesturing to the entourage of wolfmen behind him. He glanced at the sky and then to William as he thought to himself.
‘Now its time for master’s plans to… Hmmm?’
“Everybody port back immediately!!!”
The message was transmitted to the virtual Intelligence’s neural network, Golie grabbed Warwick by the arm and portkeyed to Atlantis’ port hall with a pale face.
*Booooooooooooooom*
A mushroom of fire and smoke rose up from the ground to the atmosphere. It swallowed everything in its path be they wolfmen or vampire as it blew outwards.
It was a nuclear warhead that William hid as a trump card for a last stand scenario. Its existence is known only to him and no one else. If not for Golie’s sharpened danger perception and enhanced senses, more of the troops would have been burnt by the nuclear blast and turned into vapor. Even the enchanted armor and equipment that was worn by those who were hit by the blast are melted down by the explosion which serves testament to the destruction the weapon brings.

Warnings and alarms continued to sound inside the port halls in Atlantis. Many of the wolfmen sustained considerable damage due to exposure but they will live as long as they didn’t die instantly due to their enhanced physique.

“I have failed you Milord.”
