“Tell me what happened?”

Viktor calmly asked. To Viktor’s knowledge, the vampires shouldn’t be able to put up a decent fight with the wolfmen as they are virtually indestructible with their regeneration plus their equipment and so he was shocked to hear that Golie and Warwick encountered some problems in their supposedly easy mission.

“Almost half of our wolfmen unit is wiped out by an unaccounted nuclear explosion, the information failed to report the existence of a nuclear warhead in the possession of William’s coven. Some wolfmen sustained damage but they will surely be fine with a little bit of rest and medical attention. We managed to salvage some good samples for experimental testing but William’s and most of the elder’s bodies are unfortunately lost to the nuclear blast. The most problematic thing is that we can’t just cover up for the explosion as almost everyone on the planet has at least one of their eyes on the site. What’s good is that the explosion also erased all the evidences that can be traced back to us.”

Golie was kneeling in front of an empty throne in Viktor’s Castle as he reported today’s incident with a heavy heart as he knew he should never have underestimated the enemy even with all the cards in his hand.

“What is the reaction of the wizards?”

“The ministry is strangely quiet but have made many summons since the news of the incident. Information about the event is strictly being controlled by the ministry and its leakage amongst wizardkind is very minimal with just the higher nobility being a little bit more informed than the others. To most of them, it was just a slight tremor that they felt. Rumors began circulating around about some kind of prophecy about the mass extinction of magical beings, also Mr. Grindelwald strengthened his campaign and gained much support from many noble houses in Europe.”

“And how are the muggles coping?”

“They are completely baffled by how, who and why the nuclear blast occurred. Romania is of course subject to much investigation and many are speculating as evidence also support it highly that it was the result of nuclear research, many muggles died and the rest who are anywhere near the site have already been evacuated by the muggle government. Many of the politicians who wants to make a comeback are pushing for an all out nuclear war with their long time enemies, but no one is brave enough to pull the trigger and fire as it may all lead to their own extinction.”

‘Hahahaha it would be a sight to watch them then. Their faces would be priceless… They want to use their nuclear weapons? Hahaha if they still have those then I wouldn’t be even be able to sit still right now, those idiots may blow up the whole planet for their own hypocritical beliefs.’

Thought Viktor as he listened to Golie’s report.

“Alright, ignore the muggles. We have enough efforts on that side. Quickly replenish our troops with some criminals from the muggle world using alpha venom, just make sure to mark them carefully as some of these muggles are showing some mutations with unknown effects. You know what… Double their number this time, maybe we’ll have a use for them. As for other matters such as your failure or anything similar, I hope you are prepared for your punishment after this scuffle is over.”

“Yes milord, I will accept the punishment that you have deemed appropriate for this one’s slight of judgment at such a critical mission!”

Golie together with the other restored elves are very loyal to him and this only made it harder for Viktor to pose punishment to them but as a parent figure to all of elfkind, he made it a rule to give them an appropriate punishment whenever one of them made a mistake like this.

‘Plus, he is very pleasant to the eyes. Nepotism is bad for governance.’

*sigh*

Golie could easily pass for the seat of the most beautiful man in the world, if there is one like that. After returning their magic and their appearance, the elves treated Viktor like their self made/proclaimed God. The elves are naturally beautiful as the legends says, they also have a very long life span and their magic spells are more versatile and powerful than those cast by normal wizards. He treats them like his own children, and have great plans for them unlike the expendable wolfmen and the future blood legion who are simply tools for the completion of his plans.

‘Being a fake God is hard. Thus I will become the real thing. Soon… ‘

“I hope you will learn and grow from this. Remember that failing does not make you a failure, giving up does. Don’t let this hinder your progress.”
