In the city of London, the sun rising from the west gave a warm glow to the Goldstein manor. The breeze in the cold weather could also be felt because of the hard snow last night.
In the Goldstein manor, everyone is working and preparing for Van’s 7th birthday. All the muggle maids were doing their part to make their young master birthday excellent. With the help of Madam Anne’s guidance, everything was set properly and perfectly.
In Van’s bedroom, a knock could be heard coming from his door.
*Knock* *Knock*
“Are you already awake, Van? It is already a bit late in the morning. May I come in?” Tony said with a manly tone.
Van was suprised, and replied hastily “Oh, father! Yes, you may enter my room.” As Tony opens the door and enters Van’s room, he took a glance towards the desk and immediately returned his gaze to Van and greeted, “Happy 7th birthday my child, I know it has been a lot for you, even though you are still young. Also, is not the pendant given to you, for it is the Goldstein keepsakes as we speak?”
Van looks toward his father, and replied, “Thank you father, you don’t have to be worried about me, I love being immersed with the different kinds of field studies! But there is something that had been bothering me for a long time father.” Van looked down to observe the pendant he is clutching, “whenever I look at this pendant, I find it a bit mysterious, I do not know why.”
Tony touches Van’s head, and he said reluctantly, “Oh Van, even though we have the blood of a Goldstein, except from the heirs, are able to understand a little bit about of this keepsake. Also, you don’t need to worry about this, it is your birthday, shouldn’t we celebrate? Also your mother is already looking for you, she is in the main hall preparing for your birthday.”
Van looks towards the desk, and wraps up the pendant back into its box, he look at his father with a brimming smile and replied “Okay father, thank you for the enlightenment! Let us go to the main hall, shall we? Mother might get mad at us for being to slow.”
Tony said laughing, “Haha, you sure know mother’s temper? Well then, let us go.”
(…)
Meanwhile in the grand main hall, everyone is busy especially Madam Anne. All the preparations are almost done. On the other hand, she calls her son Anthony and said “Anthony, could you call Carlo and make him prepare the car, we are leaving soon. Tony and Van might be coming already.”
Anthony nooded and said, “Okay, mother. I will be leaving then, also tell my greetings toward Van!” he quickly ran and left the main hall passing through the main door.
After several moments, everything is already done and accomplished by the maids. The head maid said “Madam Anne, everything is already settled. Also the food shall be prepared when you all come back,” Anne nodded towards the maid and replied, “Thank you for your great work. I would not be able to prepare it fast and unique without all of your help.”
All of the maid replied in unison “It is our pleasure madam. We shall continue cleaning the rest of the mansion.” Everyone who works in their Goldstein manor respects the Goldstein family for their generosity and hospitality.
Anne replied with a smile, “Well then, everyone of you could proceed with your duties and take an early rest after your work.” All the maids left and proceeded to their duties. When she was left alone, she can not help but think, ‘What is taking them so long? I’m already done preparing everything.’
It did not take too long, Tony and Van came in the main hall. Tony looked over the surroundings and said towards her wife Anne, “Hmm, Anne, your plan for Van’s birthday looks wonderful! Also, sorry for taking so long.”
Anne with her lovely voice said, “Thank you for your compliment with my work, my lovely Tony.” She then looks towards at Van and said with a happy tone, “Van, Happy Birthday to you, my son! I love you so much! Do you like my preparation? Also, Anthony wants to greet you Happy Birthday. He called Carlo for we are going towards her grave, Van.”
Van looks towards her mother and said, “Thank you so much mother, it looks we shall visit my mom’s grave, shall we?”
Anne replied, “Hmm. Well then, let us go outside and head to the porch, both Carlo and Anthony might be there waiting already.”
