Harry Potter: The Ring Maker - Chapter 544: Changes(2)
The first thing Nick noticed was that Dotty had grown taller , nearly double their original height in fact. In addition to that their body had filled out to more human like proportions while their face had become less wrinkled and more human like. At the top of Dottys forehead two small nub looking horns stuck out as well. The most off putting change however was the eyes that had changed to have black sclera and slit pupils like a serpent. “How do you feel?” Nick asked his servant when they appeared in front of him at Hogwarts.-
“Incredible sir. Like this one was but a slug before and now stands as a wolf!” Dotty said with a wide smile. “That is good , I hadn’t expected that my own transformation would effect you as well and I apologize for any discomfort you may have experienced as a result.” Nick said honestly. “My lord need not apologize to this lowly one. It is Dottys privilege to serve one so grand as you.” it said with a deep bow. Nick easily spotted that the thought process of his servant had taken a qualitative step forward from the simplistic nature of house elves and was more like that of a normal persons.-
In addition to this there was another metaphysical change in the form of Dottys essence and power. To even call Dotty a house elf would be a massive error as on a evolutionary scale it was now much higher up. Dottys essence had also become daedric in nature with a clear tie to the realm much like Nick himself and as a daedra the servants power had undergone an earthshattering transformation. If before it was a match flame it was now a raging bonfire that could threaten most people.-
The magical power of magical creatures like Goblins and house elves was generally more powerful than a wizards but far from efficient as they had no focus for it. Now though Dottys power required no focus much like how Nick himself no longer needed one. That was just the sort of creatures daedra were , their bodies were more than adequate to serve the same function. What this meant was that now Dotty could perform much greater feats of magic than before and as such was a force to be reckoned with.-
The way that house elves used magic was different than the way wizards did so most of the time the defenses that were set up against other wizards simply failed against house elves. Dotty like most house elves was a tier three being but with this transformation it was not impossible for even Dumbledore to be given a run for his money against them. Besides all else however Dotty was a servant and as such will not act in any way that might inconvenience Nick , at least not intentionally. “Return to the manor and practice with your new power so we can understand your limits better.” Nick said after noticing that people were starting to stare.-
“As you command my lord.” Dotty said before disappearing like mist much to the astonishment of those watching. To them it must have appeared as though a first year was talking with Nick at first but the longer they looked the more the details were off. Add to that the fact that Dotty apparated away in a place well know to be impossible to do so in and the shock was not surprising at all. Nick knew that the information would get around eventually but he didn’t really care since he could handle the blowback for it.-
‘Now that I think about it calling Dotty a house elf is no longer correct but what should this new race be called then?’ Nick pondered seriously. ‘Perhaps Hildra from the Aldmeri language word for servant and the Daedra? Yes I think that will be a perfect name , the Hildra. A new race of daedra exclusive to my realm.’ Nick thought pleased with the name he had chosen. There was nothing else worth noting in the next two days and soon enough it was the day of christmas itself.-
Nick woke up nice and early as per his usual and saw the ungodly amount of gifts he had at the foot and sides of his bed just like last year. More than a few of them had letters attached too which was annoying to say the least. Once again most of the gifts were from people that had attended the blitzball tournament over the summer who were fans of it and wanted to show their appreciation for him creating the sport. Few of these came with letters thankfully. ‘More stuff to add to the collection I guess.’ Nick thought with a shrug as he carefully stored away the stuff that the various players and teams of the sport had sent to him with their signatures on it.
