He/Heroine And My Villainess - Chapter 225
HE/HEROINE AND MY VILLAINES
(TRAILS AND MEASUREMENTS TO PATH OF GOODNESS)
The night sank in and the place became quiet and silent. The wind that passes through every place can be heard singing different rhymes. Wild animals started to rule the land. Running around places searching and hunting for food, while others are just lurking and having fun throughout the night. The moonlight is spreading as the scattered clouds keep moving. The tree leaves are swinging and falling like it’s years will come soon. Some birds are still flying, catching up with their nests to rest and bringing food for their chicks.
People around the town are now strolling back to their homes to rest and call it a day, while others are just starting to tie up their stalls and places where they usually sell goods and crafts. The light through every street shines like a series of lights. It shouts Christmas vibes and the fireflies that roam every night inside the forest show the jolly theme all around the place.
Inside the forest, two horses were being ridden to get to the location where there were people that were trying to find something. Alda and Kayla are now riding their horses that they got from Angela to go to Sir Arnold’s head quarters inside the forest. Earlier, while Alda was busy doing her thing, Kayla knocked on the door and called out her name inside the book in haste. It was like she was running from something or had found something interesting.
Alda strided close to the door and opened it. She then came face to face with an exhausted and tired Kayla. Her facial features showed a person who had not had rest or sleep for two days. It was messy and haggard. Alda was shocked and let her inside the room in a hurry.
“What happened to you?” she asked, concerned. They strided over to the guest room and sat on the separate couch. Kayla looked straight at her and showed her the large size book she had been carrying around since earlier. Alda looked at the book with confused eyes and a puzzled expression as she saw an old, dusty book in front of her.
“What is that? Why did you bring such a dirty book inside the room? “she asked. Kayla gave out an eye roll and responded.
“This room is not yours. Don’t own it as yours. Anyway, this book has the spell you want me to cast, ”
Kayla’s voice sounded tired and her eyes showed exhaustion. Alda saw her state and couldn’t help but feel worried.
“Have you been searching for the spell you want all morning?” she asked. Kayla sighed at her. She didn’t look at her. Instead, she focused her attention on the book. Opening it as she went over to the page, she found the perfect spell for her to use to find the lamp quickly.
“I did,” Kayla responded. Alda nodded and went to her side to pat her shoulder as a thank you for her perseverance in finding the spell inside the old book. Kayla didn’t mind her gesture and just went on to show the spell she found in the book.
“Here it says here. I need to be in a place where you last had the lamp, “she explained, pointing to the words that were written inside the book. Alda looked at where she was pointing and read it using her mind.
“Ahh, I see, I see. Then let’s go to the forest and do the spell, “Alda replied, making Kayla look at her with an unbelievable expression.
“Are you crazy? Are you unaware of the book? It’s inside the forest, “Kayla responded with an exhausted tone of voice.
“Yes, I am aware and I know what is inside the forest. It’s full of wild animals, “Alda mentions. Kayla looked at her as she sighed and replied.
“Then why do you want us to go tonight? Do you want to get eaten and die? ”
Her words had a surprising impact on Alda, as she thought that Kayla must have been so exhausted because her words showed exhaustion. Alda chuckled and patted her shoulder again to calm her down.
“Take a rest for two hours, take a nap. You need to cool your head for a bit, “Alda suggested. Kayla heaved a long sigh, then nodded. She also felt like her words were getting out of hand, and all because of the exhaustion she felt in her body.
“Okay, but about the topic?” Kayla asked.
“I will take care of everything. Make sure Marsha is already asleep, “Alda replied, which made Kayla confused.
“What do you mean?” she asked.
“Are we still going to enter the forest tonight?”
Alda looked straight at her and smiled.
“Yes, you were the one who said that we must find the lamp fast because it would be bad for it to be taken by other people,” Alda said.
“Yeah, okay. I will go back to my room and take a nap for a while, “Kayla said.
“And Marsha takes care of her too. We will sneak out of the mansion later. No one must know that we were going out, “Alda mentions.
“Ah, right. Wait what? ” Kayla looked at her feeling unbelievable.
“What? Do you want them to know that I lost the lamp they gave me for my daughter’s birthday? Surely not, right? Besides, I have my own people beside me. I could not afford to put them in danger. Do you understand? ” Alda mentioned it and Kayla understood. She must have been very tired because her thinking was not equal to Alda’s intellectuality.
‘Sigh, I need to take a nap for a while,’ she thought as she stood up from the couch and took the book back to her hand. Alda just watches her tired actions and can’t help but feel guilty. She can’t believe that Kayla would go overboard in finding a spell to help her find the lamp. She touched Kayla’s shoulder, then gave out a smile and said.
“Thank you, rest well. I will make Angela fetch you to your room later, “she mentions Angela’s name and Kayla can’t help but be surprised.
“Angela? You mean Cathlen servant? Does she know that you lost the lamp? ” Kayla asked in haste as her eyes showed surprise and worry.
“Uh, yes, but she does not know who I really am,” Alda answered. Kayla sighed and nodded.
“That is great. I thought you also tell her about yourself, ”
“No, why would I?” Alda replied.
“Right, I go now. I will see you later. You do the rest. I don’t care as long as we sneak out with no problem later, “Kayla responded and Alda nodded.
“Don’t worry, I have a way,” she said. Kayla only nodded then went out of the room. When she went out, Alda then rang her bell and Angela then arrived in front of her door. She opened the door in haste and made Angela come inside in a hurry.
“Is the curfew time almost up?” She asked. Angela looked at her with puzzled eyes and nodded. Alda sighed. She held her forehead and started walking back and forth, making Angela worried.
“Miss? What is it? ” Angela is trying to ask what she wants because she is afraid if she thinks deeper, her health will be in danger again. Alda looked straight at her as she stopped walking and answered.
“I want you to rent two horses to the town and tie them in front of the passage gate in the garden,” she explained, making Angela wonder, but she decided not to ask anymore questions and just nod because she already knew that thier Miss was going to meet Sir Arnold in the forest.
“Okay, miss. I will, but why two horses? “she asked.
“Are you going to take me with you tonight?” She was nervous. Alda saw her nervous reaction and couldn’t help but give out a light laugh.
“Of course not. I know you are afraid of entering the forest at night, “Alda replied. Angela sighs in relief upon hearing her reply and asks.
“Then why two horses?”
Alda looked straight at her and smiled as she replied.
“I will bring Mrs. Tilda with me,” Angela’s eyes widen upon hearing Mr. Tilda’s name out of Alda’s mouth.
“But, miss! She is close to Duke Thranduil. What if she reports to the duke that you lost his gift to you? ” Angela spoke of her worries. Alda patted her head and said.
“No she won’t,”
Angela looked over at her with concerned eyes and an afraid feeling. Alda saw through her reactions and couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Angela, don’t worry. She won’t report me because I have something that could ruin her view of my father’s perspective. So she must obey and keep her mouth shut about whatever she saw,”
“Okay, Miss,” Angela answered. After that, Alda then gave her money to spend on buying two horses. She left her chamber and went over to ask permission to go out again.
To be continued.
