He/Heroine And My Villainess - Chapter 246
HE/HEROINE AND MY VILLAINESS
(THE DAY I MEET YOU)
They exited the comfort room, and Mary helped Yerre dry her hair. Then help her change into a dress that Madam Rose chose for her daughter to wear earlier. After that, Mary then proceeded to style Lady Vendia’s hair into a half-up, twisted back hairstyle. When she was finished braiding it, she then put a hairpin that was formed into a blue anemone flower and gave a light spring makeover to Vendia’s face.
Mary always loved to transform Lady Vendia into something she always imagined when Lady Vendia wore every different dress she had chosen to wear ever since. It made her happy and satisfied upon seeing Lady Vendia transformed into something she wanted to see.
It made her heart content. She felt like she had done something reliable for herself, even if it was only a simple thing. She still felt happy and grateful. If it wasn’t for Lady Vendia’s help back then, she would be already rotten to the ground and not experiencing this kind of life.
Before she entered the Marquis residence, she was a little child who was always on the street begging for money so she could buy food for her stomach to be filled. At the age of five, Mary had lost her parents due to life circumstances.
Mary’s mother was born with a simple concept of life. Her grandparents only lived by planting crops and making handy crafts. These two things are the only things that sustain their needs and wants. They didn’t have a lavish life, like those people who live off of other people’s content, making abundant investments and spreading their wealth everywhere like a virus, wasting it on useless and sometimes useful stuff.
Because of her mother’s choices from the past, Mary’s grandparents and her mother’s relatives didn’t have good relationships. At the age of 18, her mother went to elope with the man she loved. Going to another country to live a normal life with their unborn child, with no regard for the consequences.
After 4 months passed, Mary’s parents got married. It was only a simple celebration, and after it she was born. They live a simple and wonderful life. Their needs and wants were being sustained by the crops that Mary’s father sold on the streets all the time. Mary’s father bought a tiny plot to plant crops to sell and sustain their lives all through the years. While her mother was left in the house as a house wife,
Their life was peaceful and filled with joy, just like every family has until 3 months later, after Mary’s 3rd birthday. Mary’s father left a letter on the table saying that he could not bear to live the kind of life they had anymore. He said he didn’t want to have the thing he had anymore, that he was not happy anymore.
In the last sentence, he says that he will be going to another land to pursue his dream of becoming a businessman, and that Mary Mother should not search for him anymore, because no matter what she does, he will not be with her anymore. He also apologized at the end of his letter, saying, “Forgive him for being an unreasonable man.”
The letter left Mary’s mother devastated and in distress. She didn’t know what to do. At such a young age, she became a mother. She didn’t have a clue about how to survive on the outside. Her chance to experience how the outside world works was being snatched away from her because of the love she had for a man who promised the whole world to her.
All this time, she only relied on her husband’s earning and capability. Sure, she had some skills as a woman to use to earn money, but she didn’t know how to start. This left Mary’s mother at a loss for 1 month. Luckily, Mary’s father had left some money for them to use before he left, and his mother used it to buy them something that could sustain them for the meantime. Until her mother decided to pull herself out of her closet and spread those ideas out to the outside world.
For one month, she battled with her mind and heart until she saw her three-year-old child on their wood table. Eating only one sweet potato on her plate with no complaints, this made her cry out of nowhere and apologize to her for no reason. She could not believe that she was only thinking of herself and had forgotten about her child. She became irresponsible and selfish. This made her realize something and wake up from her sorrow.
She realizes that her sorrow could fade as time passes by, but seeing her child suffer because of her own accord will never be erased from her mind and heart. It tore her and made her an unreasonable woman. She didn’t like it. What’s important right now is to give her daughter a life she can afford with her strength and capability. She needs to pull herself together or else her child will suffer more than what they are experiencing right now. She could not afford to put her child in that situation.
So Mary’s mother decided to continue planting some crops that her husband had left her with her child. She also decided to create a makeup made from edible flowers and other things that are required to be put into making makeup. She sells them on the street every day with her child’s help.
Before she met the man, she committed to giving her life. She was also a young maiden who was filled with innocence, dreams and curiosity about life. A young woman who always accompanies her mother to sell her craft products on the streets.
She learned how to make makeup through her mother’s guidance. Her mother loves to make makeup products out of fresh flowers using a safe and clean process. She sells it to every noble woman who comes to their lands to visit and enjoy the beauty of their surroundings. Thanks to her mother’s skills and talent, she was able to have a thing that could give them a sustainable income.
But her earnings were slow because she was not used to facing other people. Entertaining them with her product that she wants to sell to them. Luckily, she has a very cute and cheerful child beside her who helps her build her confidence in facing other people from time to time.
Mary was a very cheerful child back then. Every time her mother sold something on the street, she would shout,
“Please buy my mother’s products, they can make you even more beautiful!”
She kept repeating those words until she danced a random dance while singing those words repeatedly to the people who were passing by their area, with no sign of discomfort or force on her face.
Her eyes only showed cheerfulness and willingness. It is filled with ignorance and unawareness, like those three-year-old children have. The way she speaks is still not fully understood, but for her mother, she felt proud that her daughter was trying her best to talk to people, even though she still had a hard time speaking clearly to them.
It made Mary’s mother smile, laugh, and be happy all the time. She felt so glad and blessed to have such a strong child in her life. A child she willingly wants to have in her life. It made her realize that even though she had lost someone she treasured the most in her life, she still had something even more valuable than a treasure, and that was her child.
This made her strive harder to find a sustainable income so she could save her three-year-old child from a miserable life. She was so devoted to giving her child a comfortable and easy life that she soemtimes forgot to take good care of herself.
But she didn’t care if she had less as long as her child had everything she wanted her to have. It’s enough and a blessing to her already.
So she started to work every day and night, nonstop. Planting crops and making makeup products that she can afford to make with no rest. Then she sell it on the street with he only child.
Forcing herself to push herself to the limit and being out of her league for her child. Until her fear of speaking up in front of other people vanished.
Her innocence and unaware personality faded as months passed by because of the powerful strength and motivation that her child had given her. She learned how the outside world works and how not to be cheated by other people scheme in selling your products to them.
She became wise and learned all that with no guidance, only based on her experience and through selling her products to other people while speaking up to other people. She finally became an independent and strong woman, just as she wanted it to be.
Months pass and the sales of the products she created, as well as the crops, became larger than before. She can now buy things her child wants.
She can’t believe that she could also earn such an amount of money. It she can earn even larger amount of monet than what her husband earned before.
It made her think that everything was possible if you worked on it. But things were still difficult for her and she still suffered alongside her only child.
To be continued.
