- Chapter 75: Chapter seventy-five: Facing him again
Madi’s POV:
“I couldn’t get a new business permit!” I said annoyed and throw my bag on the couch.
“But why? You already completed all the documents needed. Did you forget anything… your Id?” Noelle asked and she takes a seat beside me.
“Huh! That fucking Id!” I loudly cursed and sighed harshly.
“Why? What happened with your Ids?”
“My name doesn’t match their system! Because based on them, I am married to Gabriel and still married until now!”
“Gosh! How does that happen? I thought you already gave him the divorce papers before? What happened?”
“I don’t know. All my Ids’ name is Davis! And didn’t even changed my last name into Wilsons even I was married to him! That’s why I was so shocked when they told me that they can’t process my papers, unless I present to them an ID with a Wilsons name on it!”
I brushed my hair and shook my head.
“I am so annoyed right now and I want to kill! I want to kill that annoying Gabriel Wilsons! Argh! This is my first time that I can’t process my papers in just one day! And I have to go back to present and Id which I don’t have! My goodness!”
I sighed and wait for her to react but I heard none. So I looked at her just to find her smirking.
“And what’s with that smirk?”
“Nothing!” she shrugged. “I just remember three years ago, you came here crying your heart out because you’re in pain and no matter what we tell you to leave Gabriel, you’re just saying ‘you can’t’ because you love him. But look at you now! You’re annoyed and you can kill him just by your sharp words! Tsk.Tsk.Tsk. I’m proud you, Madi.” she said seriously.
I smiled as I shifted my seat beside her and hugged her tightly.
“Thank you, Noelle.” I said while my arms wrapped around her neck.
“For what?” she asked patting my back.
“For being my friend, my supporter and for staying beside me.”
“Of course. What are friends are for?” and I hugged her more. “By the way, what’s your plan right now? What are you going to do with your ‘Not-ex-husband’?”
“Huh! I’ll chop his balls!” I firmly said and she chuckled ay me.
“Wow! Look what heartbreak did to you! Are you still the Madi… my naive and ‘virgin’ friend?”
I playfully glared at her. “Of course! Silly!”
“Seriously, what are you planning to do? You don’t have an Id with Wilsons as the last name. Is there any other way?”
“Yeah, talk to the ‘devil’ and make him sign an authorization letter, that Madielyn Davis and Madielyn Wilsons are just the same!” I emphasized the word devil just to earned another laugh from her.
“Nice! I really like the new version of you! Bolder and fiercer! Keep it up!”
“Of course, I learned my lesson!” I proudly stated.
“Tsk.Tsk.Tsk. Yeah, I believe you, my friend. What did you always call him before—-‘handsome Greek God’? But time’s changed because he’s now a ‘devil’ to you…your ‘handsome-devil’. Amen!”
I can’t help not to laugh and punch her on her arm.
“Can you please stop comparing the things before and the things right now? My God, Noelle!”
“I’m just happy, you know.” she rolled her eyes on me.

Gabriel’s POV:
“Mica, is there someone looking at me or wants to talk to me?”
“No, Sir.”
“Even calls?”
“Nothing Sir. Well, phone calls from clients and investors.”
“Oh, not that one. Just call me immediately if there’s someone who wants to talk to me personally, okay?”
“Sir, may I ask if it’s a man or a woman?”
“Woman.”
“Okay Sir, copy.”
I called my PA, just to check if Madi finally decided to show herself and talk to me. I don’t know if how many times did I call Mica just to ask the same question since yesterday. Because I finally received a call from my trusted friend inside the Chicago City hall. And she said, there was a certain Madielyn Davis who came yesterday.
I can’t help not to smile and feel excited to know what was her reaction after knowing the truth that she still married to me. When she left the divorce papers three years ago, I didn’t sign them and just put it in the trash. And now that I saw her again, I can’t sit here, relax and doing nothing. I want to get her back and be with me forever.
I made a personal investigation about her business, and when they should submit and process some legal documents. And I used it to make her personally come to me talk to me about our marriage.
Well, I just pulled some strings and put money into the account of this trusted friend of mine and bingo! I can now get what I want. I asked them to change Madi’s last name into Wilsons.
“Mr. Wilsons..”
There’s a knock on the door and Sandy came to my view.

“Sandy.”
“Sir, your meeting with the board members is about to start within ten minutes. The board room is now ready, Sir.”
“Thank you, Sandy.”
She nodded and smiled at me. “You’re welcome, Sir.” she said before exiting the door again. I let her handle my schedules because my PA is still under her training.
I prepared some documents that needed to the meeting. Little did I know that the woman I’ve been waiting to arrive since yesterday is now making her way to the company.

Madi’s POV:
-‘Whooh! This is it, Madi! You can do this!’-
I tried to calm myself when I stopped at the entrance of the company where it started this all. Nothing’s changed. That was the first words that came across my mind when I saw the main lobby. There at the entrance standing is the same security guard who always greeted me every time he saw me. He already knows my time arrival every morning, because I always arrived fifteen or twenty minutes early before our official time in.
And in the reception desk is the same assigned employee from three years ago..Tere.
“Ms. Madi?” her eyes widened when she saw me approaching her desk.
“Hi, Tere. How are you?” I greeted her with the same smile as before.
“Oh my God! You’re looked more beautiful, Ms. Madi!”
“Well, thank you.”
“What happened to you, Ms. Madi? We just heard that you submitted your resignation three years ago.”
“Ahh.. I just felt tired before. You know, our job is quite tiring.” I shrugged.
“So, are you going to go back now?”
“No, I just need to talk to someone.”
“Ahh.. why—–”
“Bye Tere. I have to go. This is really important.” I cut her off before she can ask anything about my sudden resignation.
“Oh.. okay, Ms. Madi.”
I walked my way towards the elevator. When the lift is slowly arriving at the executive floor, the more my heart is pounding inside. It’s deafening and I have to take a deep breath every single minute, because I can feel the tightening of my air passage. I closed my eyes when the lift came to stopped to my purpose floor. And with one final deep breath, I pressed the open button.
But my eyebrows knitted when I saw the new faces of employees the moment I stepped out from the lift. Well, it’s been three years, what would I expect? I tried to look for Sandy in her office, but the door was closed. But there.. in my old office a woman in her uniform, sitting on my old chair. I knocked on the door frame and she raised her head to look at me.
“Hi, Good morning.” I smiled as she walked towards me.
“Yes, Ma’am? What can I do for you?” she asked raising her eyebrow and looked at me from head to toe.
“I’m looking for Mr. Wilsons.” I ignored her kind of stares.
“Do you have an appointment Ma’am with the CEO?”
“Uhm.. no. I don’t have an appointment. I just need to talk to him. It’s really important.”
“Oh, he’s still in the board meeting Ma’am. And I can’t allow you to talk to him if you don’t have an appointment!”
I was left open-mouthed with the tone she gave me.
“Are you his secretary?”
“No. Personal Assistant.”
-‘Huh! Like boss, like assistant! Rude!’-
“If you are a personal assistant, then why are you here? Why aren’t you with him, if you said he’s in a meeting?” I arched my eyebrow.
“Sandy is already with him.”
“Okay, I’ll just wait for him in his office, until his meeting is over.” I said walking past her but she stopped me by grabbing my arm.
“I told you Miss, you can’t talk to the CEO if you don’t have an appointment! And this is an executive floor, what are you doing here?” she glared at me.
I take back my hand from her grip. “And also told you, I want to talk to your boss. And I’ll just wait for him inside his office, if he still in the meeting. This is really important Miss, and I don’t have any time to ask you for an appointment.”
“No! You can wait for him inside his office! Who are you?”
I just smiled at her rude behavior.
“I am Madielyn Davis-Wilsons, his wife!” I answered looking directly in her eyes, but the rude assistant just laughed at me while clutching her stomach.
“You know what, you really made me laugh—-”
“Yeah, I can see that!”
“Miss I’m sorry, but I won’t buy your excuses, you don’t even have a ring, so you better go back and stopped pretending my boss’s wife. Stop your dreaming and fantasy about him!”
“Okay!” I said nodding. I have a better idea. “Maybe I just can go and barged in the meeting room to talk to him, which room he is… room 104?” I said running my way towards the elevator.
“Hey! How did you know which floor he is? You can’t go there!”
She followed me, but I was fast and pressed immediately the close button.
-I’m such a bitch!’- I muttered to myself while shaking my head.
I smiled as I remember her question, how did I know which floor he is? Of course, she said board meeting. How could I forget which number of room is the board room if I worked here in half a year before?
My heart started to beat faster when I reached the designated floor. When I am in front of the double door, the nervousnes starts to kick inside. I need to do this now or never.
But I am about to push the door when someone lunged at my back that caused me to accidentally pushed the door in front of me. And because I was surprised by the sudden action, I lost my balance. My loud screamed startled all the persons inside and the next thing I know.. I found myself lying on the carpeted floor with bitch-secretary on top of me.
“Oh my God! I’m sorry, Miss!” she said while getting up.
I was about to open my mouth when the person I am about to meet suddenly came to my view.
“What’s happening here, Mica?” he asked her and then his eyes widened when he saw me lying on the floor.
“Oh God! Love?” he immediately kneeled in front of me and help me to stand. And I winced with the sudden pain I felt when he touched my elbow. “Fuck! You’re bleeding!”
