“What did you just say?”
“You know exactly what I said Caroline!”
Standing right there in his arms, after hearing those words coming out of his mouth, Caroline couldn’t believe that he possessed the same desire in his heart that she had.
She didn’t want to sound desperate so taking a brief pause, she looked into his eyes, trying to gauge if he was really telling her the truth.
“Do you really want to? I mean Is there a way?”
He lowered his eyes and softly held her cheeks in his palm. “I don’t know But I want to. If there is any way, then I would love to do that. But none that I know of Caroline.”
And hearing those words the small flicker of hope that was present in Caroline’s heart, burned her down to ashes.
“Could we could we ask Nubeous? He is way older than you, and he might be knowing if”
