Heisei To Sengoku - Chapter 70 Welcome
Harumi was given the task of entertaining the legal wives of the Daimyo’s during the three days that they would be staying at Kiyosu castle. For the first afternoon she didn’t have to plan anything. Most of the Daimyo’s would be arriving somewhere during the day. While their husbands would go and talk to Nobunaga Harumi though that their legal wives probably needed some time to settle into the castle and to revive from their journey. While men were more accustomed to traveling, woman barely left their own inner palaces. On rare occasions they would leave the castle for short trips, like going to an onsen, visiting family or occasions like this one. On the first day the ladies could take it slow, stay in their quarters and relax, take a walk or something along those lines. The first evening wasn’t that special as well. Everyone practiced the art of moderation. They all knew they had to attend important business meetings the next morning and had two other banquets to attend in the upcoming days. Everyone knew that the banquet on the last day would be legendary. That would be a party for Nobunaga’s birthday after all. Harumi had already heard a dozen of the wildest stories from maids about things that happened previous years. A few years back there some traders from India were also present apparently. One of the Daimyo’s got so drunk he bough a herd of elephants. Another maid had told her a story that Nobunaga had gifted all the Daimyo’s a female dancer who had preformed during his birthday. The more stories she heard the more absurd they sounded. But one thing was for sure, it would become a night to never forget.
For the second day Harumi had planned a kind of high tea. Back in her own time her friends and she liked to go to cute and popular cafe’s after school. There they would drink latte’s with amazing art on them and the most popular and wild sweets. One of the things that had become quite popular in the last few years was a high tea. When they had half a day of school on Saturday they would go to a cafe that offered high tea’s afterwards. The high tea’s that Harumi had experienced had three rounds of food, all with complementary tea. The first round were sandwiches, the seconds scones with jelly and clotted cream and the last round sweets. Of course she couldn’t entirely recreate it, but she had made an ancient Japanese version of it. At first they would get rice with all sorts of magnificent side dishes and after that they would get all kind of pastries and other sweet things. All the food would, naturally, be accompanied with the perfect tea. As entertainment she had hired some professional tea brewers who would brew their tea while they would enjoy themselves with all the magnificent food. Harumi really couldn’t care less about all the ladies, she could barely contain her excitement thinking about all the awesome food they would be eating.
