Hellhunters Neo - Chapter 10 The North Shelter
Edin was sitting atop the hospital when the gun shot ran followed by lightning. He felt a strange feeling of deji vu to the sound. He shook off the feeling as he heard the door to the roof burst forwards. Three humans were carrying a male who had massive claw marks across his chest. Edin rushed over as his hands glowed blue. He slowly dragged his middle and pointer finger just over each gash. They slowly started to seal it wouldn’t heal it completely but it would stop the blood loss and get the man in a stable condition. He pointed to the far end away from the entrance where his wind barrier was blocking demons from crossing. The humans tho managed to walk through with the unconcious man easily.
Edin was a mage known as the child of the phoenix. That was about all he knew about himself due to the fact he lost almost all of his memory up to 3 years ago. He couldn’t remember much about himself and with Ti Zhoa’s help he had managed to piece together some of his memory. He knew he was a mage and worked for the ex demon lord that reigned over the HellHunters. Before his memory loss he was on par with the HellHunters at least what Ti said. But due to his loss of memory he was ranked down to a trainee. This is because one of Edin’s core powers in magic seemed to have been lost with his memory. He could no longer control fire making him considered one of the weakest magic users in the demon world. So since then Edin has worked to train his other forms of magic in order to make up for his loss of power.
Edin was focusing on getting people out of the red for those who had been wounded. Once they were healed enough he would move to the next making sure to keep his magical energy from running out. After a while he noticed there were less and less demons trying to get to the top that he was able to relax his magical barrier. As another group came rushing up something clattered along the ground. He noticed a dagger and in a blink there was Desmond. He sighed slightly before commending him for its leadership. It is was normal team mates due to keep the peace.
He was stunned after hearing Desmond’s response before disappearing into the wind tunnel that sent him to the Shelter. Edin ground his teeth as he tried not to snap. ~this self center son of a…he really thinks i would be in his way? This stupid…oh my fucking…~ he said in his mental monologue. He went on for a god few minutes that he had not realize that the ground was breaking under him. He looked down to see the ground had given way causing the seal that created the wind tunnel to break. Edin quickly jumped back avoiding falling with the roof. He realized it was the entire hospital crashing down that he adjusted his footing. Once he was set wind pushed from his palms at the ground launching him into the air. He landed neatly on the near by building watching the hospital crumble down. He looked back over the city again as best he could. it turned from humans running for their lives to demons turning the whole city into a battle royal. Edin looked at the actual distance to the north shelter and realized without a stable base he wasn’t going to be able to travel by wind. The flames would disrupt the flow of wind and while in travel like that he wouldn’t be able to stabilize the currents. He rubbed the back of his head before stomping the ground. the building below began to rumble violently. The pipes under the building broke through the ground before slowly lifting the entire building.
Every building statue or tree in the city magically modified so that they could not only have more durability. this allowed complete manipulation to magic users. So for Edin this was no easier then causing a rock to rise. The building started moving towards the North Shelter when he noticed something in the distance. There was a giant ice golem heading towards the Shelter. The problem with the shelters they are designed to block demons but this golem wouldn’t signify as a demon. That meant it could travel into the shelter’s barrier with ease. The other problem with ice demons is they carry a Miasma of ice. This poisonous gas infects humans slowly turning them to ice. If that golem crossed the barrier he would kill thousands in seconds. Edin also thought about Desmond and his cockiness. ~I doubt that idiot would be dumb enough to get within the miasma. he may be skilled but he is still human.~
Edin pulled a flare from his pocket and cracked it. The red glow was a signal to all who saw it. This meant immediate danger to the shelters. Edin tossed the flare as high into the air watching it fly high before a cold chill blew over him. He fell back dodging the falling icicles as the flare was frozen solid killing its glow. The golem had turned its attention to the walking building crashing its way through other buildings. Edin could feel the cold chill as the building walked towards the golem blocking the path to the shelter. Edin tried to get up but the blue cold like mist was already freezing the ground that he was already stuck to it. The mist rose over the building leaving that crackling sound of ice spreading. He could see the icy cold glare of the ice as it spread across the building. Edin felt the mist touch him for the first time as it froze his foot almost instantly. Before he had a chance to react the mist engulfed him leaving a frozen statue of him. The building broke down slamming against another without edin’s magic. among the rubble of the two buildings Edin laid in his frozen state.
