Hellhunters Neo - Chapter 13 The Black Guard
Seeing Haru boost up was a shock and with how tired he was Riku really couldn’t say otherwise to his actions. He sat back watching Ti who seemed worried that Haru was able to break the sound barrier. He had done it many times with his speed to think that Ti was worried made him chuckle a little. Riku leaned back watching the fight go on taking in every bit he could. Haru was considered one of the weakest HellHunter trainees to date yet there he was unleashing such power. Riku could only feel happy for his friend even if it meant he might be left in the dust. He looked over at Saku who was not taking the news of the fact he wasn’t the strongest very well. The dragon on his arm was glowing as its rage was probably fueling his right now. If it wasn’t for the fact Saku won’t ever act without orders means this was a good choice at the time.
Being a clone of his as well as considered a weaponized demon meant his mind went under great lengths to have seals put in place. these are mind codes that force the demon to obey orders from specific people, in this case, it was his squad leader. While many think this a good thing Saku carries a lot of hate and aggression. The seals cannot completely stop him anymore only when he gets to a point. Thankfully as long as Riku is around him Saku is completely controlled. That is if he is the one giving the orders. Ti Zhoa thinks this is because they share DNA that Saku’s brain comprehends this as a miscommunication. It deems Riku’s orders as Saku’s own brain telling him what to do.
Riku ignored Saku at this point as the battle ended with a black armor flying to save Haru. Riku sent Saku to help due to his speed knowing all too well how much energy Haru expended. Haru would need blood and quick meaning Saku could help with that. Ti was about to rush after the armor which meant his suspicions of who that was correct. He quickly orders Ti away knowing he couldn’t say no. As soon as the two left to do their duty Riku got to his feet. One thing he thanked his father for was his ability to regenerate energy faster then most. He stepped onto the railing of the roof before pushing off jumping from one building to the next. He made sure not to break the sound barrier or even make a sound with each jump.
The black armor was flying towards the south when something collided with it knock the armor down into the roof of a building. The roof collapsed down a floor as the armor was face down in the rubble.
“Get up I know you can take a lot more than a simple kick into a building,” said Riku as he stood atop a large part of the roof sticking up into the air.
The armor slowly rose to turn its head towards him. The armor jumped at Riku with such force and speed that the rubble before its feet blasted outwards. Riku barely managed to roll back avoiding its first hand. The armor floated in the air before aiming towards the building Riku was still on. A black orb fired out exploding the roof. It managed to track Riku who dove towards the next building only about 20 feet away. He rolled across the roof as the armor slowly flew down.
“You think you’re a match for me? you expended too much energy just to deal with the horde. Even if you wanted to you couldn’t draw the sword meaning you have no chance to beat me…” said the armor in a blank robotic tone.
Riku growled a little as he got to his feet dashing towards the armor. He jumped up into the air a foot away from him as his right foot swung around aiming for the helmet. The armor put up an arm blocking the kick with ease. Riku, on the other hand, used the momentum to swing his other let up aiming to kick his other foot. just as his foot was about to connect the other arm of the armor reach up grabbing Riku’s foot. In one swoop he slammed Riku into the roof causing it to crack. Riku collided with the ground as blood splattered from his mouth. The armor made no further moves to strike Riku as if it was waiting for him. Riku rolled away drawing his desert eagle out from its holster. while he kneeled on one knee he fired 5 rounds at the armor. The armor moved its right armor so quick it looked like a blur. all five rounds burrowed holes into the ground beside Riku. it was one straight line meaning the armor deflected each one so perfectly to make a straight line.
“you think that is enough to pierce my armor?” asked the Armor. It rushed forwards grabbing Riku’s arm yanking him forwards. The armor slammed its knee into his chest launching Riku into the air before it flipped forwards. The armor’s heel collided with Riku’s back slamming him back towards the ground causing it to give way. The roof crashed down pinning Riku under its rubble.
The armor moved to in front of Riku standing over the defeated hero. Its helmet hissed as it slowly disappeared revealing the face. It was an older looking Riku by at least 20 years or so. Its hair was black as a raven but its eyes were a pale blue color. “Sorry, Riku but I am not your father… merely a clone of him. Guess Ti didn’t tell you that much did he? Lord Shindow is gone….all that is left are these temporary clones. He would be proud you managed to last more than 5 seconds against me though… I was going easy…. that whole father betting his child even if its a clone is cliche. Still too far away from where you need to be to even scratch this armor much less beat him.” said the Clone Shindow. The Helmet slowly formed back hiding the head and face once more.
Riku was clawing at the dirt trying to will himself up. all he could think about was how weak he was. How he failed to even past this simple test he knew he would have to take one day. The more he dwelled on it the more his anger boiled up. His energy rising causing the rubble to shake but just as he was about to let the feeling explode something hit him. it was like his entire body was on fire all he could see was the armor looking at something else. He tried to reach out and grab the armor’s foot but he passed out.
“You stopped him again…. how many times has that been? do you plan on breaking ever seal until your completely devoid of them all? you can’t harm him unless he’s changing so unless you find a way to push him past the point of no return those seals will remain.” said the armor before it disappeared into the shadows of the city.
