Hellhunters Neo - Chapter 30 A heart bea
After the holding cell also classified as the depths was completed they finally showed their work to Shindow. He towered over them as he walked behind them noticing the weird pictures on the wall that were depicted as great arts of work. Some seemed interesting but nothing he would consider great works. As they entered the elevator that took them further down they noticed the moment his foot touched the elevator it quickly gave off a warning of weight. His foot slowly lifted as he moved inside floating off the ground just slightly.
As it slowly lowered down at least 10 stories down the elevator door opened revealing a large red carpet. This carpet centered to a throne chair that was on the far end of the hall like area. It wasn’t massive but still beautiful in its own right.
“This is scientific rendering off a castle hall, the only real thing in here is the chair. everything else is real but fake its all illusion magic made solid through particles floating in the air. Its an interesting way to modify illusion magic but still not anywhere near making illusions real. your focusing too much on the reality rather then the illusion.” Said Shindow as he floated out into the hall before turning back to look at them.
They were stunned at how well this room was made and yet he managed to figure out what they did in a mere second. They barely reacted before seeing his hand lift up into the air. With a snap of his fingers the room rippled and changed from where his hand was til the room was lined with weapons. the pillars were ivory and gold and the floor marble. Everything was more then just a magical stun but it was all real. As the scientist and mages ran their fingers along the stone they couldn’t believe it. He had managed to make an illusion so strong that it was actually real.
Sasryl was the only one still standing at the elevator as she was encased by the view before her. She had been studying magic and the illusion magic that she used was no where near this level. Even with how high her magic was she had to use the science to get it to the level they did have it at. Yet here this demon managed to change all of it with a simple snap. No incantations or magic circles of any kind were used making it all that more stunning.
She was about to step forwards when something drew her eyes off to the side. She saw the mirror to the side that drew her attention in. Her ears sat atop her head in their full blue glory as well as the tail that matched. It was her normal form that she had spent most of her life hiding. She nearly started to cry before moving her hand to her head. When she realized it was all an illusion her eyes shot towards Shindow. He was sitting there looking at her with the same purple eyes that looked as if they were devouring ones soul.
The others in the hall fell a chill down their spine before noticing the look in his eyes. He was focused and something seemed to have his full attention. One of the researchers walked over to Sasryl handing her the clip board before they all headed to leave. They had more to show her but the fear was well beyond something they could handle.
Once the elevator was gone a blue light shimmered from Sasryl. After a moment the light faded and a small blue kitsune (fox spirit) was standing in her place.
“You knew… Is that why you laughed? Is that why you find it funny? was all of this a joke so the demon lord could turn the last kitsune into his play thing?” She said trying her best to not start screaming at him. “your kind destroyed my people my home my family…. Yet you still find it funny to act as if your some kind of innocent creature.” she had every hair on her tail fizzed out.
“Relax I wasn’t laughing in the manor you think. I figured the blue hair was real and not some magic or dye you humans use. No as a matter of fact what makes me laugh is 30 years ago I was apart of the subjection force that attacked the Kitsune homelands. A small little blue fox curled up under a basket looked into my eyes and caused me to hesitate my blade. I let it run away that night while having to burn down its home. To think that little fox would have grown up so beautifully much less hiding as a human.” He said before reaching behind his head to grab his hair together. His hair was pulled back like a ponytail and a black mask formed over his face.
Sasryl was stunned before reaching her hand down to her side. As if coming out of thin air a black revolver appeared in her hand before she aimed it at him. “You…you…you think thats funny…” She stammered out as tears were forming in her eyes.
For so long she dreamed of that man being the hero who saved her life. Much less someone who fought for the kitsunes some kind of folk hero she could dream of meeting. In reality it was a demon lord who led them right to their door steps. Sure he might have not been a lord but that didn’t change the fact his actions had done this all the same.
“I prayed…to meet you… I struggled for so long… I trained and learned so I….I could…Join you and save… but now I know there is nothing to save…” She felt the gun grow heavier as her conviction to kill him weakened. She fell to her knees lifting the gun towards her head.
The trigger was slowly pressing in from her finger as she was ready to give up. She could see her brothers and sisters flash by in memories. Her parents and home everything passing by as she got ready to die. The gun shot ran as everything went dark for her.
She felt like she was floating but it only last a moment as something firm was pressed to the side of her face. She was trying to move but her body was pressed against this warmth. She started to open her eyes when she realized something was crushing her against it. At first she thought it was the floor but the warm was too real. After a moment she heard the heart beat that sounded like the calls from the abyss. The darkness was from his cloak that covered over her while she was pressed to his chest.
In the middle of the hall sat the two with her face buried into his chest crying. His arms wrapped around her with the gun thrown across the floor. There was no word spoken but in that moment they both knew what this moment meant. His silence plea for forgiveness and her cries of lost tears for the pain she never let go of. Together in that moment it was as if they were talking it all out without saying a single word but letting their hearts speak for one another.
