Hellhunters Neo - Chapter 9 The Plan
All while the battle at the gate was going on Desmond was fighting his way floor by floor to kill off the demons inside. The hospital only had 20 floors and by the time he reached the 15th floor, the demons were fighting among themselves. The demons were slamming each other through walls turning what was a patients area into a horror scene from movies. The few humans who were able to avoid the combat by hiding in a closet saw Desmond and began banging on the glass window to get his attention. Desmond nodded as the weapon in his hand was a sword that was modified saber. It was thicker then most and had at least an extra 4 inches on a regular saber. The handle was a skeleton hand made of metal that had a ring on each of its fingers. On the pommel of the blade was an eye much like his own that glowed with kanji. This sword was called the forefather, A red blade that was passed down from hunter to hunter. The sword is said to be the weapon that taught the hunters their special arts.
The Human which steals the blood essence of those struck by the weapons to heal the hunter. Demon boosts the hunters physical strength at the cost of their own energy. Dragon modifies the hunter with a special magic designed to mimic the breath of dragons. Each hunter has a specific dragon magic for Desmond its fire. Tiger increases the users speed to nearly breaking the sound barrier. God is a more demanding art that requires both pure focus but puts so much strain on the body that it can only be used for a few seconds without draining the user of their life force. But the Forefather is a weapon that increases the abilities even further and allows the user to mix two of the arts. The problem is that hunter must be completely compatible with the Forefather to use its power. In Desmond’s hand the sword is simply a tool that he used to activate his arts since he has never once activated the eye of the Forefather.
Desmond’s eye formed the tiger kanji as he rushed towards the supply closet. he yanked open the door pointing towards the stairs. “run up not down because i am not sure what may be on the lower floors. A HellHunter is on the roof assisting with escapes and healing. If you can help him please do.” he ordered the scared humans. The man shot up rushing towards the stairs before Desmond had the chance to stop him. “dumbass..” he said in a sigh under his breath as two fighting demons squashed him in their struggles.
Desmond turned to the ladies and nodded as his eye turned to the god kanji. This time it gave him perfect sight of his surroundings. He was watching the fights as they progressed away from the stairs. he could also see that the floor above was about to give way as many of its supports in an area had been destroyed. “run and don’t stop…..NOW” he shouted as his eye turned dull and normal having spent to much energy. The few who remained waiting for his orders ran at his shout. They made it safely to the stairs as Desmond stood guard.
He held his sword out as his eye formed a weak human kanji that barely glowed. As a demon rushed by to attack one of the other demons who had shoved it way. Desmond dashed forwards slicing the rushing demon’s legs off from under him. the demon rolled forwards as the blood flowed across the air towards the sword. “Human Art: Flash Cut” he said as his body glowed. The other demon looked on with a grin seeing how the human had helped him. He rushed towards Desmond whose eye glowed with the human kanji still. “Humans…we take and take…only the foolish keep giving.” he said before appearing to dash through the demon. The second demon was still as it dared not move. After a second his blood splattered across the air from its neck. Desmond’s cut has slashed through the demon’s throat causing the head to fall to the side barely hanging on by a bit of flesh. The two demons laid on the ground when Desmond lifted the sword towards the ceiling. His eye changed to dragon slashing the sword down. A large flaming claw mark slashed through the air burning the demons but dealt no damage to the hospital. He headed towards a few rooms that he had seen people in telling them the same. once the people were rushing up the stairs he turned towards a window.
“I wish I had been faster.” he said softly as the sword faded away. A dagger appeared in his hand before tossing it out the window. The dagger flew forwards hitting a pipe on the side of the hospital. The ding was barely heard over the thrashing and fighting below. The dagger pattered along the ground of the roof having ricocheted off the pipe. A second later Desmond appeared on the roof with tiger in his eye. He patted himself down before walking towards Edin.
“looks like your plan to set up shelter and giving me a chance to set and escape route worked out in the end. How did you know my magic would be troublesome in tight areas?” Edin asked Desmond as he walked over.
“Plan? What plan? I just wanted your ass out the way so I could deal with the fighting and not have some mage slow me down.” he said disregarding Edin as he was the wind tunnel that was taking humans to the shelter. “neat didn’t know your magic could be this useful.” said Desmond before stepping in himself.
