- Chapter 535: Tenth Day - Response
Allen’s group was inside a magic device they deployed to serve as base in the Spirit Paradise.
There was a large meeting room inside, where they reviewed their strategy and checked their equipment.
“Alright, is everyone ready? Luck, are you feeling alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. I still feel a little hot though.”
Luck had gone through Talent Changes at a much faster pace compared to Sophie when she was in the S Rank Dungeon. But he was managing to keep up with his new abilities, though sometimes he would feel strange sensations in his body.
“Just use the Great Spirit’s Blessing to make up for the Intelligence you’re missing.”
“Alright.”

Luck had found a Poison Great really quickly in Mouton.
‘I never thought the day would come when I’d fight alongside Light.’
(Hm? We it’s not set in stone whether we’ll fight or not though.)
Darkness poured out from Luck’s back, and a figure covered in a black cloak emerged.
‘I should be the one saying that. I can’t believe Tonies managed to swindle everyone.’
Then Sophie’s chest began to glow, and a woman wearing mythical Greek clothing emerged.
‘We haven’t been swindled whatsoever.’
Tonies could not let that go while listening from inside Sophie.
Usually Spirit Sages and Dark Sages could only manifest one spirit at a time. But the Dark and Light spirits appeared on their own to voice their complaints.
There was a ranking of spirits as well, and Light and Dark spirits had a pretty high position.
Because of that they also were really haughty and would constantly argue with each other.
“Alright, everything is ready then. Let’s go.”
(Everyone else is training though. I guess this is the best I can get considering we have to be ready to fight the Demon King too.)
Allen had checked on his other friends like Kurena during the last 5 days, but they were all under rigorous training in their own Temples. Them getting stronger was a priority, so he did not request their help.
Once everyone around Allen nodded ready, they headed to meet the two spirits guarding the Great Spirit God’s mountain.
“Allen, we’ll wait here then.”
“Right. Cecile, once Merus gets here you can start the transportation. Formar too.”
“Got it.”
The group would split up again there, Cecile and Formar would wait halfway up the mountain.
“You don’t have any issues with this, right Formar?”
“Yes, no issues here. Take good care of Lady Sophiarone. And don’t needlessly provoke the Great Spirit God.”
“Of course.”
Formar was the third person to tell Allen to not stir things up too much. But Allen’s only priority was freeing Rosen and Fabre, so he could focus on fighting the Demon King’s Army.
Leaving Cecile and Formar behind, the rest went up to the two spirits guarding the mountain.
“We’ve come to see the Great Spirit God.”
‘The Great Spirit God is waiting inside, pon.’
‘I see you’re missing some members, but it’s commendable you didn’t just run away, kon.’
The two spirits, in Young Spirit form, pushed against the large gates to slowly open them.
Then the group went inside, walking through the long corridor.
(So that cave is basically in the center of the mountain’s bedrock.)
Allen had not thought that much about the place where the Great Spirit God resided the first time they were there.
After walking through a long corridor, they finally saw the Great Spirit God, reclined against a throne.
“Lord Rosen…”
Sophie looked in terror at Rosen, only his face visible through the many vines holding him still.
Luck also looked saddened at Fabre, who was in a similar state.
‘I’ve been waiting for you. I didn’t think you’d wait until the last day.’
“I’m sorry for the long wait. It was such a large problem that it took us some time to figure out and prepare a solution.”
Allen spoke while the rest of his group remained silent.
‘Oh, then tell me, what is the problem of the Spirit Paradise?’
The Great Spirit God was starting his revision of their answer.
“Yes, we went around looking for any issues, and it seems the Spring of Life that supports the lives of spirits has been drying up, and sooner or later it won’t exist anymore.”
‘Impressive! But yes, that’s correct. Did you figure out what the cause was?’
“Yes. 1000 years ago a second World Tree sprouted on the surface, which duplicated the consumption of Dew of Life.”
(It really feels like he’s anticipating the answer he wants.)
Allen replied with a disinterested voice.
‘You show your excellence once again, Allen. Now then, how did you go around fixing the problem?’
“Since there’s two World Trees, there’s not enough spirits here to supply them with Dew of Life.”
‘That’s correct, how is that related to your solution?’
“So I decided to carry the spirits down to the surface instead.”
‘Huh? What did you say?’
“As I said, I decided to carry the spirits away from the Spirit Paradise, so they can make the surface more abundant.”
The elves and dark elves would take care of them instead.
‘Wait, could you explain a bit more? Are you kidnapping the spirits?’
Easley’s voice was still calm, but his eyes were starting to frown.
“I asked the spirits what they wanted first.”
Allen took out the thousands of survey sheets the spirits signed from a magic bag.
‘What are those?’
“These are the contracts with spirits who desire to move to the surface. 1682 want to go to the Elven Country, and 1341 to the Dark Elf Village.”
(Alright, is he going to accept this solution?)
Allen had thought of it as a water supply issue. If those living far downstream and halfway downstream could not move away, then only those at the source had to move.
Halfway downstream was like the Elven Country, and far downstream was the Dark Elf Village, and the spirits of the Spirit Paradise were those at the source.
If spirits were unable to drink enough Dew of Life, or eat World Tree Fruits, they would slowly lose their power, and Great Spirits would regress to Spirits, and Spirits regress to Young Spirits.
But Tonies mentioned that if they were near a World Tree, then they would not vanish.
(Not to mention that the spirits have been drinking a lot more Dew of Life than they need.)
‘What kind of farce is this? Do you really think these papers hold any value?’
“These contracts are as valid as a pact with the Gods.”
Sometimes the Gods would form pacts with humans. Most of them were verbal agreements, but sometimes they would also have written contracts to go along with that.
Shandar was like a bridge between humans and Gods in the divine realm, so Allen asked Merus if they also had written contracts, and he replied that they did.
So Allen asked Merus to go see Shandar’s king and request enough contract forms like that.
The king had known Merus since he was a child, so he happily agreed to the request.
They were important documents, so Allen quickly collected them back into a magic bag.
‘Do you really think I’ll approve of such a ridiculous solution?’
Easley’s voice was still calm, but his demeanor was getting more aggressive.
“Unless you decide contracts with humans are no longer valid, it is a proper solution.”
Those contracts were always valid, even if the Great Spirit God did not like them.
‘I can’t possibly release the two under such ridiculous conditions. I’ll have to turn them into Spirit Beasts anyway.’
“So you’re going back on your word? Do you really think you can be so willful just because I’m a human?”
‘Enough. Go away. Hmph…I guess I never had any other option.’
They ignored the Great Spirit God’s order, staying still while staring at him.
Seeing that, the Great Spirit God slowly raised his aged body.
They did not know what he was about to do, but it seemed like a serious situation.
(You were right Merus, I’m sorry. Could you bring her here?)
An instant later two Angels appeared there.
‘I’ve brought her.’
As soon as Allen said that, Merus came together with a female Angel that looked a lot like him.
‘Who are you? Wait, Lady Lupto?’
The Great Spirit God looked confused, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
‘So not long after you get to the divine realm you’re already causing disturbances with the Great Spirit God…’
Lupto, Elmea’s First Angel, sighed at what she saw.
