- Chapter 552: Allen's Divine Technique
The moment Allen used [Divine Technique Activation], which he obtained in the Spirit Paradise, he gained the Divine Technique [Generation].
It was late at night, and they were in Rodan Village’s plaza. Under the light of a magic device, and with Cecile watching, he began testing it.
(Generation, huh. Not Creation this time.)
First he checked what he could learn from the Grimoire.
Generation suggested
(Now there’s a bunch of sealed summons, I guess they’re all the ranks I didn’t have before.)
Before only the Insect and Beast summons had rank H variants, but now various others also had them. There seemed to be more Angel summons too, even though he only had Merus until now.
(There’s a 1 after it too. I guess more will become unsealed if I get the number to go up.)
He could already theorize what the next ones would do, a lower rank being unlocked each time.
(I have Growth now too. Lower rank summons can become stronger and more useful that way.)
With Growth, even a Rank H summon would have stats similar to Demon Generals, and with buffs they could be like Demon Great Generals.
It would become even better than the Wraith C he used in the dungeon earlier.
(Alright, time to use Generation, it feels weird after using Create for so long.)
He had gathered everything he could from the Grimoire, so now he activated the Skill.
It was strange to use a different Skill from the one he used since he was 1 year old.
He focused his Mana into the Grimoire, but there was no response.
Instead a new log appeared on the cover.
‘Spiritual Power required to use the Generation Skill.’
Mana could not be used to activate the Generation Skill, which was common for Divine Techniques. So Allen switched the Spiritual Power…and there was no effect.
Yet another log appeared on the Grimoire.
‘Spirit Stones required to use the Generation Skill.’
Cecile then spoke after watching Allen try all of that.
“It doesn’t look like it’s going too well, is it?”
“I’m just trying to verify every variable.”
“Verify every variable?”
“I need to know exactly what won’t work, so I’m prepared under any circumstance.”
Allen made sure that Mana and Magic Stones would not work with Generation.
He needed to know that so he would not try something that <em class=”chakra-text css-0″>maybe could work during a fight.
“If you say so.”
“Yeah. Now I’ll try using Spiritual Power and Spirit Stones from the Grimoire.”
But there was no response again, just a log on the Grimoire.
‘To Generate a Bird H summon, you need Insect H and Beast H summons.’
“Hmhm, I see. So on top of that I also need summons I’ve already Created.”
Now he knew what to do next. He took the cards of Insect H and Beast H summons, Spiritual Power, a Spirit Stone, and placed them all in the Grimoire.
They were all consumed, including 100 Spiritual Power, and a Bird H card appeared.
(It has a crest, so it must be a rooster.)
The card’s design resembled a rooster from Allen’s past life.
(Does it have an Awakened Skill? I guess it’s similar to other summons.)
He activated the card’s Awakened Skill and also registered its name.
[Species] Bird
[Rank] H
[Name] Cocco
[Strength] 3
[Spiritual Power] 4
[Attack] 3
[Endurance] 2
[Agility] 5
[Intelligence] 5
[Luck] 1
[Blessings] Agility +1, Intelligence +1
[Special Skill] Morning Alarm
[Awakened Skill] Golden Egg
He looked over the summon’s stats, it looked like any other one, except that it had Spiritual Power instead of Mana.
“I guess I’ll summon it then.”
‘Cluck cluck.’
It looked, walked, and sounded like a rooster.
That was the same place where every October they had a harvest festival, thanking the God of Harvest and praying for a good harvest the next year.
This year Rodan had said he wanted Allen to be present as the chief’s son too, and he replied he would do his best to be present.
(Hm, this feeling…)
Something reminded him of his childhood and the struggles he had back then.
“Allen? Is something wrong?”
Cecile noticed something about Allen’s face.
“It seems I can’t give orders to this summon with Sharing. Maybe Growth can help? It didn’t.”
Allen used Growth on the Bird H summon, but no matter how much he did it the summon just kept walking around randomly through the square. It reminded Allen of how much he struggled to get the Insect H summon to listen to him when he was young.
(Alright, I’ll just move on to testing the Special Skill then.)
Allen already had an idea of what it would do, so he had a Bird D summon observing in the sky.
“Cocco, use Morning Alarm.”
As soon as Allen gave that order, the summon stopped walking and looked up.
‘Cock-a-doodle-doo!!’
The Bird H summon spread its wings and made a loud noise.
There were flightless birds kept as livestock in this world too, but none were like chickens.
But in elementary school in his past life he had taken care of chickens and rabbits, so he knew how they sounded.
“Hey, what’s happening!!”
“Are monsters attacking?!”
“Everyone wake up!”
The lights turned on in the nearby houses, and men holding farming tools and spears they used to hunt boar came out, while shouting at their wives and children to shut the doors.
(Hmhm, it actually woke everyone up. It didn’t sound loud, but it had an effect in a radius of 1 kilometer.)
“Hey, why are you causing such a big mess?!”
Cecile started to get frazzled seeing the commotion while Allen just checked the effect it had.
Allen had already expected it would have an effect like that from its name, and it could likely be used to wake his party up from drowsiness.
But knowing how awake it would leave them was important. If they were still tired, they could easily fall back asleep, or would struggle to focus on a fight.
The Bird D summon he had checking the surrounding area showed that even people from farms far away were waking up.
“Allen’s Army hasn’t been responding the best lately, so I feel like I need new test subjects, but I guess I’ll have to stop here for now.”
“At least I hope you apologize properly to them later.”
Allen would often use the people of Heavy User Island as test subjects for his summons or the magic devices Larappa built. But they were getting fed up with it, so they showed less reactions.
Though some also started exaggerating just to get on Allen’s good side.
So if he wanted to see the actual effect, he needed to do it on villagers.
Now he just had to get the village some useful magic device so they would forgive him.
Though they did not seem to notice him in the plaza, instead searching around the village until they decided there was no threat and they all went to sleep.
Allen looked relieved seeing that, but Cecile sighed in disappointment.
“Next is the Awakened Skill. Cocco, lay a Golden Egg.”
(It looks like a rooster, but it lays eggs?)
‘Cluck.’
<em class=”chakra-text css-0″>POP
There was a popping sound on the summon’s rear and an egg came out flying, sparkling like gold under the moonlight.
“That’s an egg.”
“It looks like it. I guess it can create more of itself since it’s an H Rank summon.”
The Insect H summon that looked like a grasshopper, and the Beast H summon that looked like a mouse, had a Skill to create more of themselves.
The Bird H summon also could lay eggs, but only one at a time.
(I wonder if I can hatch it.)
Allen focused on the egg and it broke open, revealing a chick inside, covered in yellow fluff.
The chick began walking around following its parent.
The parent had Growth and Strengthening applied to it, and the chick had inherited half of its stats.
As Allen and Cecile watched that, they felt something behind them.
“What are you doing, brother?”
“Allen, you should go to bed soon.”
Muras and Rodan had also woken up from the commotion, and had come to the plaza.
“Right. I’ll go to sleep in a bit.”
He had been awake since early in the morning to get through the dungeon, so he was getting sleepy now.
He would do the rest of his tests the next day, but made sure to list his current results and everything he was still missing.
The third day after Allen’s return to Rodan Village was also spent going through the A Rank Dungeon. Allen’s main priority was to reach the S Rank Dungeon, since their Levels would get maxed with just one Iron Golem, and they would be able to increase their Skill Levels quickly with Mana Regeneration rings and bracelets.
Outside the dungeon the sun was already about to set.
“Phew, that’s it for today then.”
“Yes dad. Also, I’d like to help other villagers too like this, if they want.”
Muras, Rodan, and Gerda would not be enough to fend off the Demon King’s Army if they attacked, so Allen had plans of bringing another 100 villagers to the Talent Change Dungeon.
He told Rodan to find villagers who would like to have a Talent like that.
In this world, the difference between 1 Star and 3 Star Talents was immense.
With all stats maxed out, they were at least twice as powerful.
In a way it felt more unfair than when Allen was first born there.
But actually having a Talent was more important than the Stars.
Only 10% of people had Talents, and having one could greatly alter someone’s future.
Parents would often cry with joy when their children were found to have Talents in the Appraisal Ceremony, knowing they had a bright future ahead of them.
Now adults with no Talents could gain one though, so the 100 people Allen wanted would likely appear almost instantly.
Allen’s Army was working on the Academy City to train the students there, but maybe it was time to work on people who had no Talents, and give them the chance of obtaining one.
(I guess I’ll have to increase the number of magic ships to accommodate for that as well.)
Grandvelle had a magic ship, but Allen decided he could buy one for Rodan Village too.
10000 gold coins should be enough for that, and would help with sending people to the Academy City to work with Allen’s Army.
That night Allen snuck out with Cecile again to continue testing his summon.
