Hello, Mr Li: The Christmas Trip - Chapter 117
When Hoy and Joreen left the house, Joreen was the first to pull her hand away from his. He turned to look at her, raising a questioning eyebrow so she explained to him, “There are a lot of people here.”
“I’m sorry my mother yelled at you.” He tried to touch her face but she stepped back and looked at him with wide eyes. He realised what he was just about to do and withdrew his hand.
“I told you, I won’t let you get into trouble because of me.”
He didn’t say a word and just allowed her walk ahead of him.
He had a deep frown on his face when he saw the Madam Wei family present which meant there was Wei Chan and Wei Yong somewhere. The two people he was going to get rid of immediately this trip was over.
“Look who we have here. Bully boy.” Reen approached Wei Chan with a smile.
The boy turned to look at her and when he recognized her and scowled. “They now invite riffraffs to their party?” He asked, looking around.
“Stupid!” He spat out.
Reen chuckled, “The only riffraff I see here is you. And if I were you, I would mind the way I talk to me because you know… I have a video of you on my phone.” She flashed her phone in front of him and when he tried to grab it, she withdrew her hand and chuckled. “Too slow.”
He looked furious. “You really don’t know who I am? You better get rid of that video while I am still being nice. I am going to deal with you if you mess with me.” He warned.
She laughed. “Oh! I really want to see what you are capable of doing with your daddy’s help.” She smirked and turned to leave but her legs stopped moving when she heard him curse at her,
“Stupid bitch!”
She slowly turned around to look at him. It was his turn to smirk before he turned away. He was really happy he got to say the last words.
Reen began to head towards the opposite direction from him and stopped in front of also the long table were drinks were served in glasses. She picked up one glass and took a small sip before she turned and started to look around.
“Who are you looking for?” Joreen asked when she bumped into Reen.
Reen’s eyes fell on the person she was looking for and she smiled.
“Let me apologize in advance little sister.” She dropped a kiss on Joreen’s cheek and walked past her towards Wei Chan. He was standing beside his mother and both were talking to another woman.
When Reen got closer to them, she tapped his shoulder to get his attention and when he turned around, what he felt next was a splash of wine hitting his face, some of it touched his mother who gasped like the rest of crowd gathered there.
Reen didn’t stop there, she slapped him hard on the face, eliciting more gaps from the crowd before she threw the glass aside and grabbed his collar. She was quite tall but he was still a little bit taller than her, nevertheless, she completely dominated him.
He held her hands which were on his shirt’s collar, trying to stop her from choking the life out of him but her grip tightened.
“The next time you dare call me a Stupid bitch, I will show you what one really looks like, you lowlife scum!”
“What? This bastard called you that?”
Cixi asked as she appeared beside Reen who abruptly let go of his collar, causing him to almost fall to the ground. Luckily for him, his cousin was behind and helped him from falling.
“Who the hell are you? And how dare you hit my son!” His mother yelled when the shock wore off.
“Your stupid son deserves the beating of his life but I am being nice because I don’t want to ruin this party.” Reen glared at the woman and turned to look at Chan. He looked really surprised. Apparently, he hadn’t expected a girl to treat him this way since it was always him who treated people this way. Her grip had been really strong, almost choking him to death so he could tell she was quite strong.
When Reen turned to walk away, madam Wei grabbed her hand. “Apologize to him right now!”
“You must be mad!” Cixi grabbed the woman’s hand away from her daughter and pushed her aside.
“Your son should be thanking her for not beating the hell out of him right now. Who does he think he is to call my daughter names?”
This was another thing that suprsised Chan. He knew Cixi to be part of the Li’s extended family. So the mad girl who attacked him wasn’t a riffraff?
Changyu was watching from the side with her husband. She had a smile on her face and a glass of wine in her hand. “Violence…” She said quietly, “Always my favourite.” She took a long sip from her glass while watching the scene.
All their attention moved to the left side of the venue when they heard things breaking and to their surprise, they saw two people were in a serious fight.
It was Kyle and Zichu.
“What’s that boy doing here? I thought I asked him not to—” Changyu stopped talking when her husband looked at her,
“So you did have something to do with his sudden disappearance?”
“….”
“What the hell!” Reen exclaimed and began to head towards the direction of the fighting boys but Chan’s mother didn’t want to have it. “You embarrassed my son and you want to get away with it?”
“If you do not move out of her path, your son isn’t going to be the only one with a swollen face splattered with wine.” Cixi warned the woman who was blocking Reen’s path.
Reen trusted her mother to handle her so she hurried towards the two boys who were in a serious fight.
“Are you two crazy?!” She screeched.
The two halted. Their hands were midair, ready to deliver blows to the other. Both looked awful, torn lips, facial bruises, torn shirt and scattered hair.
“You invited this bastard here?” Kyle asked. His chest was heaving up and down heavily and he still looked very furious.
“The only bastard I can see right now is you. What are you doing here? And how dare you cause a scene?” Reen asked him angrily before she turned to look at the bruised Zichu. She couldn’t count the number of times he had been abused since this trip started. It has been a back to back assault.
“Why is he here? Did he lie to you about seeing me in the room with a girl? Because that is a fucking lie! This bastard must have lied to you just to get his way here.”
“What the hell are you talking about? What girl?” Reen asked in confusion and then turned to look at Zichu, “You saw him with a girl?”
Kyle’s eyes expanded. Did it mean Zichu hadn’t told her anything?
Zichu didn’t answer Reen’s question. He just glared at Kyle and began to walk away from the venue.
“So… you were with a girl in your room?” Reen asked him.
“I wasn’t! I just thought that bastard lied—”
“And why would he lie about that? He didn’t even mention it first. You did! So did it mean you already knew what he was going to lie about?” Reen asked angrily. She had asked Zichu to come over today after his early morning shift. Now, he was angrily leaving with a bruised lip. She didn’t care if Kyle slept with a girl or even 10, she didn’t just want to see him at all!
Kyle ran his hand through his long hair roughly. He had never been so embarrassed in his entire life. All eyes were on them. Joreen was standing beside Reen now and was looking at him with something akin to disgust.
“Nothing happened. I swear it!” He swore, looking intensely at Joreen and hoping she would believe him.
“You should leave.” Joreen said calmly.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to ruin your day but I am serious, you shouldn’t believe that—”
Once again, their attention was diverted to the other side of the building where they saw a girl marching towards their direction and another one calling after her desperately.
“Suyin please…” Heya begged.
Everyone was surprised to see what Heya looked like. It looked like she had blood all over her cream coloured dress and there were also blood on her hand and tears in her eyes.
“Li Heya?” Zhu Liang looked at her in surprise. He quickly hurried to meet her, walking past Suyin to stand in front of Heya, then he held her by her shoulders to bring her attention to him.
“What’s wrong? What happened to you?” He asked, eyes filled with concern as he took her hands to inspect it.
Heya shook her head, trying desperately to push him away. What did he think he was doing in front of everyone? This was making matters worse!
“Where the hell do you think you are going? Can’t you see you are injured?” Liang barked at her when she tried to walk away from him.
He wondered what was so important behind until he turned around and noticed Suyin and everyone else staring at them. He had been too worried about Heya that his brain had failed to process the fact that he had seen Heya running after Suyin.
Suyin was staring at the two of them, eyes filled with disbelief and tears.
“It… is true?”
“This is messy…” Li Hoy said as he watched the scene with everybody else.
“Very messy!” His elder brother agreed.
