Hello, Mr Li: The Christmas Trip - Chapter 140
“This is not funny Kyle. You are creeping me out.” Joreen still kept a firm voice even though she was frightened now. He seemed to have lost it, behaving like a mad man. Now, she understood the saying better, ‘Do not judge a book by its cover.’ Many people in the world looked normal but they were just another Kyle in disguise.
“I want you.” He said with seriousness as he looked down into her eyes.
“I have always waited for this moment where it will be just the two of us, showing each other how much we love the other. Call me delusional or obsessed, that doesn’t matter.” He tried to touch her face again but she slapped his hand away before it could reach her face.
“Do not touch me with that filthy hand of yours.” She warned him harshly.
She tried to remember all she learnt from the self-defense class Hoy signed her up in. He had done that without her consent, saying women should at least know how to protect themselves. Then, she had called him a bully who liked to control her life. If only she had taken those classes seriously. Another thing that placed her at a disadvantage right now was their height difference. Kyle was really tall and a bit broad. He had the typical athlete’s body with firm and hard muscles. She on the other hand was tiny and there was no space for her to leave now that he was standing in front of her.
Kyle wasn’t fazed when she slapped his hand away. In fact, he chuckled. “Still playing hard to get, are we?”
He gave her a creepy smile while looking her up and down. “I am not very patient baby. I always get what I want. When I want them. And you are beginning to make me angry.” The look in his eyes darkened and he grabbed the back of her neck, pulling her towards him and tried to kiss her. She had been doing some calculations, so when he pulled her towards him, she used all her energy to put a little space in between them before she used her knee against his crotch.
He groaned from pain and staggered backwards with his hands in front of his jeans. That gave her the opportunity to dash for the door with all her might. She had just successfully turned the key to open the door when he grabbed her braids violently. It made her wail from the pain but he didn’t stop. He dragged her back by the hair while she tried to fight him off. She kept praying for Hoy or anyone to come. She knew Hoy had gotten her message but why was he taking so much time? It was different when treating one in their right mind. But Kyle was insane!
All of a sudden, the front door swung open.
Since Kyle was pulling her backwards, she could still see the door.
“Oh my— You son of a bitch!”
It was Reen who entered and gasped at the sight before her. Mr Ping also entered and looked really shocked at the sight.
Seeing how he had been caught, he let go of her hair out of impulse and the next thing he felt was the thick sole of Reen’s shoe making contact with his stomach. Reen kept kicking him over and over again without giving him any chance to retaliate, while Mr Ping reached for the scared looking Joreen.
“I swear to God Kim Kyle, I will make you pay for what you did to my sister.” Reen swore as she grabbed his hair with her two hands.
When Mr Ping noticed Kyle was about to have the upper hand in the fight, he looked at Joreen who was still in shock.
“It’s fine now, okay?” He assured her before he let go of her to help Reen hold down Kyle.
“Jo?”
Joreen turned around when she heard Hoy’s panicked voice behind her. He was panting so hard and had a bit of sweat on his face
He looked very relieved to see her then his eyes fell on the other three people.
“I’m so sorry I came late.”
As much as he wanted to beat the crap out of Kyle at the moment, the most important thing was to console Joreen.
He hugged her and allowed her cry on his chest.
*******
Since the family would probably not want this matter to escalate, thereby having the security team try to meddle, they left Kyle there and began to call the others one by one.
Reen held Joreen in her arms like a protective older sister while glaring at Kyle who was sitting on the floor. His hands were tied to the back, his legs also tied.
She had found the rope inside the room and helped Mr Ping to tie him down so he wouldn’t escape.
Cixi and Jaime were the first to barged in. Cixi looked at the ground and then at Joreen who was with Reen.
“Goodness! It’s true?” She asked and began to march towards Kyle. As soon as she stood in front of him, she slapped him hard and continued to slap him until Jaime pulled his wife away from Kyle.
“It’s enough..” He said to his wife who was trying to control her anger. As Cixi left Kyle to meet Joreen, they all heard a very hard slap and turned to find Jaime hitting Kyle until he spat out blood.
His face was already battered. Reen had beaten him, Hoy had until he couldn’t move, Cixi had slapped him repeatedly and now, their father. He probably wouldn’t survive at this rate.
“How are you?” Cixi asked her younger daughter.
Joreen could only nod. “Just… in shock. But… I’m good.” She said in a weak voice. She didn’t want to imagine what would have happened had Reen and Mr Ping not arrived at that moment.
Cixi kissed Joreen’s forehead and also kissed Reen’s. “Thank you for saving your sister.”
Reen smiled sadly. “That’s what a big sister should do. This… is my fault..”
“It’s not your fault. It’s only unfortunate things turned out this way.” Cixi corrected.
“It’s mine! I am always putting her in trouble. First it was Zichu, now it is Kyle!” Reen cried.
“Hey! I don’t blame you for anything. I swear.” Joreen assured her while hugging her tightly.
“We don’t blame you either. So stop thinking nonsense.” Jaime scolded Reen before asking,
“How did you find her here?”
Reen took in a deep breath before narrating to them. “I was taking a stroll when I saw Mr Ping looking frantic while running. I realised there was probably a problem somewhere, especially when I noticed how impatient he was for the elevator. He took the stairs and I followed him. Saw him checking the rooms, I wanted to ask what was happening but I heard Jo’s scream and opened this door.” She explained.
“Did he… do anything else to you?” Jaime asked Joreen.
She shook her head.
“Reen, take your sister back to your room. We’ll be leaving here soon. So we’ll have to handle all of this back at home.” Jaime instructed.
Reen agreed and began to lead Joreen out. Joreen looked around once more. There was no sign of Hoy inside the room. She didn’t know where he had gone to.
Her eyes fell on Kyle who was looking at her. She shuddered and turned to look ahead.
“What the hell do you think you are looking at?” Joreen could hear her mother yell at him before another slap echoed.
She just wanted to be done with this trip and return home.
