Hello, Mr Li: The Christmas Trip - Chapter 155
The number one ranking news in the country that week, was the marriage between Zhu Liang and Li Heya. A marriage like that wasn’t one that didn’t deserve any attention. Especially when the world found out they had been dating for quite a while and it wasn’t an arranged marriage, the need spread like wildfire with everyone sending their best wishes to the couple, and the stock of both companies increasing rapidly.
The happiest people in the world were the couple; Zhu Liang and Li Heya.
“Knock knock.”
Heya opened the door a little and gasped when she saw Liang standing outside, smiling widely at her.
“What are you doing here by this time? Besides, you are not supposed to see the bride on the wedding morning.” Heya whisper-yelled as she turned to look down the hallway to be sure no one saw him.
“I missed you.” He said while he continued to smile. “And I couldn’t sleep. Seeing how you opened the door immediately, I am guessing you couldn’t sleep either.” He stated.
Well, that was true. She was too excited to fall asleep. Imagine getting married to the love of your life after all the troubles.
Sara, Eva, Reen and Joreen had left her room to give her the chance to rest before her wedding which was in a few hours but she hadn’t been able to fall asleep.
“Are you just going to make me stand here?” He asked.
She quickly pulled him inside, checked outside to make sure no one saw him again before she locked the door.
“What are you doing?” She asked when she turned around and saw him climbing her bed.
“I want to sleep here.” He said nonchalantly, tapping the side beside him for her to join him.
“What? You… are kidding right?” She asked.
“Of course not.”
“Our entire family are in this hotel! Besides, it’s going to be dawn in like 2 hours!”
“That is why we should go to sleep now.”
“Liang!”
“Come to bed Heya. Don’t be scared. I won’t touch you.” He grinned while her face flushed.
“What… are… you talking… about?”
He chuckled lightly. “You are really cute when you are flustered. Just come to bed. We need sleep if we want tomorrow to go smoothly and I know we can only sleep if we are together. You shouldn’t worry, I’ll leave before anyone else wakes up. No one would know.” He assured her.
Heya hesitated a bit before she eventually caved and joined him.
He spooned her from behind and checked to make sure the duvet was covering her properly before he turned off the bright lights with the remote, leaving only the dim bedside lamp.
They were both quiet until Heya could feel herself drifting off to sleep.
“Heya?” Liang called softly, making her open her eyes.
She wanted to answer but on second thought, she didn’t. She just wanted them to go to bed so pretending to be asleep was the best thing to do.
“You are sleeping?”
“…..”
“Sighs! How can you sleep comfortably right now?” He murmured to himself.
Heya tried not to laugh as she remained there, trying to keep her breathing even.
When he no longer said anything, she assumed he had given up and was going to sleep but he spoke again.
“Is it weird that I feel very scared?” He asked in a whisper.
“It just… it feels surreal. Finally getting married to the woman I have been in love with for over 11 years. Wow! Who would have thought I would fall that hard for a stubborn woman like you?” He chuckled lightly.
“Maybe I am being paranoid about the whole thing, but I just… want everything to be okay. I just want to marry you and live with you for the rest of our lives. And I want to stop acting mature when I see guys flirting with you. I desperately want the full right to be able to punch them in their ugly faces—”
He stopped talking when he heard her laugh.
“You are awake?” He asked in surprise.
Heya turned to face him. Although she was smiling, he could see tears in her eyes.
“Is everything okay—”
“I love you,” Heya confessed making him pause.
“I want to marry you and live with you for the rest of my life. I also want to have the right to pull the hairs of those ladies who keeps throwing themselves at you. And I do not mind if you punch the faces of any guy who makes you feel jealous.” She said while smiling with the tears still in her eyes.
Liang grinned at her. “I love you more.” He said before kissing her gently on her forehead and then her nose before he kissed her lips.
When the kiss was getting too heated, Heya pulled back.
“We need to go to bed now. We have less than 2 hours.”
He sighed out of frustration before he agreed.
This time, it didn’t take long before they both fell asleep with smiles on their faces.
It felt like they had only closed their eyes for a minute before someone began to bang on the door, causing the two to jolt awake.
The two looked shocked when they realized it was already past 8 in the morning. Heya was supposed to go get a facial by 8:30.
“Oh my God! We slept longer than we planned. Didn’t you assure me you were going to be up and leave before anyone else wakes up?”
“Now is not the time to lay blame on anyone. This is going to be scandalous.”
Heya frowned, wondering why he looked excited.
“Just hide in the bathroom. I’ll send them away and you can hurry out as soon as they leave.” She said in a hurry.
Zhu Liang agreed and took his things with him to the bathroom while Heya went to open the door. She almost had a heart attack when she saw 4 people standing there: Zhu Liang’s parents, his best man and another friend of his.
“Heya, Did I wake you up?” Madam Zhu asked, looking extremely tensed.
Before Heya could answer, she spoke again. “I’m sorry if I did but have you seen or heard from Liang? He is nowhere to be found and he left his phone inside his bedroom.”
Heya suddenly looked tensed. What was she supposed to say? The woman looked like she was going to faint any moment.
“You don’t have to think too much about it. Maybe he just went out on a stroll. He wouldn’t ditch the wedding, trust me.” Liang’s best man assured Heya when he saw how tensed she looked, thinking she was assuming the worst.
“He wouldn’t. Today is the most important day of his life. Maybe he went to get you a surprise or something.” His other friend added while Madam Zhu and her husband nodded their heads to assure her.
‘Oh, God! What do I say? What do I do?’
Heya wanted to tell them they had spoken the previous night and they do not have to worry about him but before she could say anything, another larger group joined them. Her parents, aunt, uncle, Sara’s parents and Queen, who was holding her maternal grandmother’s hand.
“What’s going on? What’s with the atmosphere?” Changyu asked.
“Can… I just get a minute alone?” Heya pleaded desperately.
“No. You shouldn’t stay by yourself in there and do something crazy. We are going to look for Liang so you should stay with people.” Zhu Liang’s father chipped in.
“What? Look for who? Where did he go to?” Heya’s mother asked in panic.
“I think we are getting quite a lot of attention. We should go inside and talk.” Hoy’s mother said after looking around.
“Wait! Wait! No. actually…”
Heya could not finish her sentence before the crowd filed inside her room.
“What if he was kidnapped?” Heya’s mother asked. She looked like the most worried person there.
“I don’t think anyone would dare do that. But we can ask the boys to go check the CCTV footage.” Changyu said with a shrug.
“Yes! Exactly. Footage. We need to check that.” Liang’s mother agreed immediately.
“I will call Hoy and have him talk to the other boys to go handle it.” Hoy’s father added.
Heya wanted nothing more than for the ground to open up and swallow her. Why was this happening on her wedding morning? Why? Why?? Why???
“Uhm… everybody… this is… not necessary. He probably went for… a stroll. We spoke earlier and… look, why don’t you all return to your rooms. Maybe he is already back to his room.” Heya finally got the opportunity to talk.
“That makes sense.” Liang’s best man said.
“We still don’t know what is going on so his friends would go wait at his room while the other boys check the CCTV footage and we wait here with you.” Hoy’s mother said with a lovely smile which she hated right now.
The two friends left while Hoy’s father excused himself out to go make the call.
“Is there… something you are not telling us?” Changyu asked suspiciously.
“What? NO!” Heya denied it immediately. Why was she always quick-witted?
Changyu continued to give her a suspicious look before her eyes went straight to the bathroom’s door.
“I… need to shower.” Heya stuttered.
“Can I pee first?” Queen asked.
“WHAT?” Heya asked in shock.
“Pee.”
Heya gave her a shaky smile. “Can’t… you go pee in your room?”
“Too far.”
“Just let her pee first.” Like three people spoke at the same time.
‘The bathroom is big enough. Liang would hide well. She won’t see him.” Heya assured herself before smiling shakily to the little girl, giving her a go-ahead.
“Uhm… baby, I think we should probably return to my room so you could use mine instead.” Changyu said to Queen who was already at the bathroom’s door.
“Too late grandma. I really need to pee now.” Queen said impatiently before opening the door.
Heya closed her eyes and continued praying for Liang to hide well but—
“I FOUND UNCLE!!!!” Queen screamed from the bathroom excitedly, startling everyone.
