Help…My Wife is a Spy - Chapter 422
Hummingbird’s lips were completely covered so she had no choice but to breathe only through her nose. The scent of the man’s warm minty, masculine breath entered her nose and sent tingles down her spine. She hadn’t been this close to a man for a long time and forgot how it felt.
But she had no time to think about that. Her first reaction was to push the man away. However, he came prepared and had her arms pinned firmly against the wall. Although she was restrained, there was a sense of gentleness to his touch as he ran his hands down her arms, intertwined his fingers with hers, and secured her hands behind her back. This domineering action caused butterflies to erupt in Hummingbird’s stomach.
Hummingbird opened her big blue eyes wide to look at the brazen person properly, but because he was so close, all she could see were his long fluttering eyelashes and his soft hazel eyes. Perhaps sensing her shock, or perhaps because he needed to catch his breath, the man moved away from her lips momentarily. But as soon as Hummingbird reconfirmed the identity of the man, he smirked and returned to her lips like a yoyo.
Hummingbird gasped. She stopped trying to break free but her body became tense.
It was Wolf!
What was he doing there?
Wasn’t he supposed to be in Colombia? Wasn’t he waiting to raid the drug cartel?
Before she could react, the man moved away from her lips again and whispered in his deep, charming voice, “It’s rude to keep your eyes open when you’re kissing someone.”
He then let go of her hands, slowly ran his fingers up her back, and gripped gently to the sides of her head.
His touch was warm and protective, and it made Hummingbird’s heart melt.
As he slightly tilted her head and leaned forward to kiss her again, Hummingbird closed her eyes and kissed him back. Regardless of why he was there, she was pleased with this surprise.
She wrapped her free arms around his waist and pulled him closer to her.
It had been over a year since they parted from that riad in Morocco. During this entire time, she had regretted not kissing him goodbye outside her room, for not inviting him inside, and for not telling him how she felt. Now that he was in front of her, this kiss felt so right.
Wolf had been a player before he met Hummingbird, flirting with different women every night and never being in a serious relationship, but after meeting Hummingbird, he simply focused on completing his mission so he could go back to look for her. In fact, during the time that they were apart, he did not even lay his hands on another woman. It was like his desires had gone into hibernation.
So, when Hummingbird pulled him closer to her body, his desires were finally awoken like a starving beast, and he forgot that they were standing in a public corridor.
He ran his hands down her neck and his lips followed. Hummingbird naturally arched her back and tilted her head in pleasure. This man knew exactly what to do. Her body began to heat up and her breathing sped up. This kiss was better than she had imagined.
As she bit her lip to prevent herself from making any sound, Wolf ran one hand down her thigh and lifted her leg so he could move even closer to her body.
Hummingbird felt something hard between her legs and gasped in surprise. She had made the choice to be single most of her life, but it didn’t mean that she had never been with a man before, so she knew what she was feeling.
Without wasting another second, she yanked the man away from her neck, grabbed his hand, and pulled him into a nearby storage closet. As the casino wasn’t open to the public yet, the storage closet wasn’t locked and it was still empty. It was the perfect amount of space for two people.
Click! The door locked shut.
The wolf had been in hibernation for over a year, but the hummingbird had been in hibernation for even longer…
…
Halia scanned her eyes across the ballroom and spotted Trisha with Orca. Since the food was still being prepared, she decided to take the opportunity to clarify a few things. She grabbed Jackson’s hand and led him over to greet their unexpected guests.
As she got close to Orca, she whispered, “Are you Hummingbird or Orca?”
The French woman smiled slightly and looked at Jackson. “Captain Wu, comment ça va (how are you)?” she asked.
Jackson smiled back and replied, “Oh, Juliette, ça fait longtemps (long time no see).”
Halia looked at her husband in surprise for a moment. She had almost forgotten that he was an undercover agent in France for 8 years and he had mentioned that he once worked with Orca.
Switching to English, Orca said in a feminine voice with a French accent, “When you helped with the bomb last year, I immediately knew it was you. You definitely found yourself an impressive wife. I can see why you retired from the force to spend time with her.”
She then looked at Halia and did a quick subtle salute with one finger so no one else would notice, “It’s nice to finally see you, Captain. You’re more beautiful than I imagined…”
“Orca,” Halia said with realization. Clearly, this woman was not the lively Australian with a chirpy voice. She then looked around and asked, “Where’s Hummingbird?”
Orca looked around with confusion as well and replied, “She went to the bathroom a while ago. Now that you mention it, she’s been gone for quite some time… I wonder if something happened…”
If Hummingbird was a normal person, Halia would have brushed it off and said not to worry. But in the crazy life that they led, danger seemed to be lurking around every corner, so she immediately looked towards the door that led to the corridor.
“Let’s go check on her,” she said as she began to walk ahead.
