Her Path To Self Discovery - Chapter 2 Chapter Two
“I will go with New Earth.” She said with a resigned sigh.
One would argue that she needs more information before picking or that the chance success rate of that option is lower than the rest. For her personality the other options won’t do, it doesn’t fit with her personality at all.
The first world Cultivation world with Tech. She will be basically a furnace for that demonic cultivator to reach his glorious peak (note the sarcasm). With all the fantasy books she read there is thousands percent chance that there will lot of fighting and killing. Lastly, she can bet with her life she will be at the center of it with no way out but violence. She can’t even handle her blood being taken how the hell would she be able to fight let alone kill? No thanks.
The second world sounds like the easiest and heavenly if you forget being a broodmare to who knows how many men. Not judging those who would love it but for her, that’s sound like a cow in a golden farm. And the thing about it being only ten decades? She was not nave to believe with their lack of females they will just let her go around free especially when she has no power to resist. No thanks.
New Earth is the easiest to her because one, she would have to deal with only one being and two the world will be familiar to her to some extent so she wouldn’t be drowning in nostalgia and depression, lastly and most important life-companion sound more respectful than the rest. As for the lower chance of success? She will just have to work harder.
Someone can say ‘why not refuse all options and go world-hopping?’ That there is so shady to her ears. Personally, she wouldn’t be able to handle those goodbyes and she certainly doesn’t wish to turn into a cold-blooded person. Besides, who knows where they will throw her and don’t forget the constant monitoring, it makes her shiver, in a bad way. No thanks.
“Very well Miss. As a rule to all who have chosen to enter a new world the universal law is they will have to sacrifice a very important memory or sacrifice. To make it easy the person can choose what they would like to sacrifice if one decides to dupe Us, we will wipe all last life memories and send in a world of our choosing. Would Miss like to choose the sacrifice herself or would she like for us to choose?”
She listened the GBL say in it usual neutral tone. She couldn’t believe her ears. She thought her freedom being restricted was bad, this is worse. She wanted to screams shout or just hide somewhere to cry. How such a law exist? This is just cruel. And being given a choice? Was that meant to make it easier? Memories and emotions are the core of ones being, someone can’t just sacrifice it an especially important one.
She knew she didn’t have a choice at all, one way or another she will lose something today better choose herself.
Thinking long and hard she decided to forget the faces of her family, it was the lesser evil. Losing emotions it being literary or emotions related to someone that just digging a hole in one’s soul. Also, she will remember her old self from that she will be able to at least narrow down what they would look like. Still, this loss will cut deep. Her family is her pride to not remember what they look like? That’s torture. She will just comfort herself with the love she feels for them and remembers how loved she was.
“Memory is deemed sufficient, thank you for your cooperation. The memory will be lost upon entering your New World. Lastly, you have the choice between asking for a skill or advice that would assist in your task. What would your choice be Miss Jalynn”
She is glad that this GBL doesn’t have any solid form because she feels like punching it. Deemed sufficient your grandma! Breath, breath, breath. Sigh.
Skill or advice? Is there need to ask? She isn’t going there to be a hero or whatever but a life-companion of an Alien. She is pretty sure that if he can bring the end of that world there is no skill she can think of that will stop that. Though she would love to have cool powers and be a Mary Sue she has to be realistic. What she needs the most right now is information about her target.
“I would like advice about the Alien and how to recognize him.” She said.
“He is from Ewyn and last of his race. To facilitate your interaction be as blunt and honest as possible. Always be respectful and educate yourself in BDSM. Do not under any circumstances be neglectful. As to recognizing him, you will know upon eye contact.
Now, Miss, your time here is over. The transfer is initiated 3…2…1. Good luck. ”
WTH? Good luck your fucking family!!!!! Let me digest the information you floating thing.
Somewhere Else In The Netherlands
Walking towards his destination he began mulling over his life the past few years. He could still remember his disbelief when Ewyn told him earth was the best match to their goal. His first impression of humans that they were greedy, destructive, discriminative and selfish. How in the name of the Creator would people who can’t accept each other and are destroying their planet accept him? It was ludicrous, totally insane.
He spent over two centuries watching them, the more he saw the more convinced he was that Ewyn made a mistake.
Now living among them and having interacted with them he can say they are likable if you ignored the people in power. He learned to not put them all in one box and accept that they are like children learning to walk, they will make a lot of mistakes.
The first few years were hard, he had thought just hiding his physical appearance will be enough for him to blend in how naive. He was the last of his race and he has been isolated for centuries, he couldn’t even remember his culture well. He wasn’t even a teen when he was locked inside Ewyn. With only a planet as a companion, his social skills were dreadful not to mention how different he processed information. It was trying years.
It wasn’t until he stumbled upon a new community that he found a home. Although different in a lot of ways it was familiar with what he used to see with his race. He met Jacob who mentored him in the lifestyle. Though he was way older than him he didn’t have a clue about the lifestyle.
Jacob became a friend and mentor who accepted him with all his strangeness. Jacob never asked about his lack of common sense or knowledge so he acted as if it didn’t exist. It was two years before the merging of earth and Ewyn completed did he decide to take a risk to tell Jacob who he was. He was glad it didn’t change their relationship in a bad way though he would often catch Jacob mothering him he found it cute and quite amusing he often has to remind the man he could be his ancestor not that it helps much.
His steps halted as he felt an outsider enter the planet. He did not know what it was but it wasn’t too far from him. He will leave it alone as long it doesn’t show hostility.
