Her Tempestuous Villain - Chapter 162
Sunye was unconscious in the backseat of the car. Two burly men were at the front seat, glancing at her every few seconds. One was a tall, stocky man with a long beard and black eyes while the other one was short but muscular. He had thinning red hair and was clean shaven with tiny eyes which looked as if they were almost closed.
“Did you get the boss on the phone, Yan?” the thin man asked.
“He’s outta town,” the bearded man grumbled. “Not even picking up the phone.”
His partner, Chang, groaned. They had been stalking Sunye for months but she was always well protected. They kept vigil outside her workplace but every time they tried to get close to her, a guard would act and take her out through another route. It was almost impossible to get her alone so when the opportunity rose that day, they grabbed it.
Sunye was seemingly unconscious but in reality, she was wide awake. One part of her training was to withstand any sort of intoxicant which might affect her senses. Orea used to mix tiny portions of chemicals in Sunye’s drinks and food everyday to build her resistance against chloroform. It was hard at first because Sunye used to feel very sleepy throughout the day but finally, she managed to hold out for long hours.
“The boss will be pleased,” Chang went on. “This bitch has been a pain in the ass for days. Finally, she’s been caught!”
“He’ll reward us well,” Yan replied. “Let’s take her to the mansion.”
Thank god. Sunye was relieved but remained very still. She still had to count the number of guards in the mansion before she could execute her plan. Unfortunately, a lot of it depended on SD and she needed him to play the cards right.
She felt the car speeding along the highway. The map of Choi Taek’s house was etched into her memory and she needed to get to his bedroom where she would plant the map. If everything worked as per her plan, Jonghyun would find the map there.
Please let him come, she prayed. Please!
….
SD and Jonghyun were at the latter’s office with their men. SD had secured uniforms for all of the men who would be working to rescue Sunye that night. Even though he knew that Sunye could probably take down a few guards at the Choi mansion, there was still no estimate on how many men were there. It had to be a covert ambush.
“We have the map of the Choi’s mansion,” SD told them. “I’ve made copies of it and you all need to memorize it. There’s almost no loophole for our entry. The bathrooms, bedrooms, cellar. All are well guarded. As per our sources, there are around thirty guards at the mansion but there might be more. We can’t tell for sure.”
“Our objective is to get Sunye out of there,” Jonghyun added. “Luckily, my informants told me that a whole security crew will be going to the mansion around 7 PM tonight. They’ll be using the route via Highway B. So we’ll attack them and take their place. It’ll be a life and death operation.”
The men nodded, ready to work for their boss. Some of them were Nakamura’s men who were experts in street fights while the rest were Lieutenant General Yang’s men who were skilled combatants. SD had excluded his own guards from the list because Jonghyun would get suspicious of them. But his men were going to secretly follow them and also keep an eye on Choi’s mansion to give him details on what was going on inside.
“Let’s go!” SD ordered the men. From the corner of his eye, he noticed that Jonghyun was motioning him to come closer. SD approached him.
“Haein, there’s no one in the world I trust more than you,” Jonghyun said. He had full faith in Haein and was sure that if there was someone who could save his Sunye, it was his faithful secretary.
“Thank you for the honor, sir,” SD replied, slightly bowing his head. He remained calm in the face of this crisis, which impressed Jonghyun a lot.
“If anything happens to Sunye tonight, I’ll kill every one of the Choi’s,” Jonghyun swore. “Every single one of them.”
“I understand, sir,” SD said. “I will not stop you.”
SD knew that he did not have to stop Jonghyun. It was not needed. Because SD was going to kill them first.
Jonghyun nodded and they marched off towards their cars. All the men had already climbed into a large van which was a replica of the vehicle which would transport more security personnel to the Choi mansion. After the slave trade was busted, Choi Taek had increased the security in his mansion in case if the protestors went there. Moreover, he was also fearful of the retribution from the General himself who was going to have him killed if needed. The Company was already keeping tabs on Choi Taek, blaming him for the whole fiasco. And Mikhael’s death only added fire to the fuel.
SD was driving the car while Jonghyun was at the back. Unlike the others, Jonghyun was not wearing any uniform because he wanted Sunye to know that he saved her. Maybe this will make her realize that I’m much better than that lover of hers, he thought.
“I can’t believe that asshole would betray her,” Jonghyun muttered. “She was only doing her job!”
“Choi Taek thinks that she betrayed them and used his grandson to gain information on them,” SD stated. “I’ve heard from our informers that Taek even reckons that Sunye works with the Light.”
“The Light is weak!” Jonghyun scoffed. “They haven’t been able to do anything in years! They’ve abandoned the people of the country and still expect that everyone will listen to them? Bullshit!”
“Sir, if I may ask,” SD began. “Do you know the Light well?”
“They were the ones who opposed the Monarchy,” Jonghyun lied. It was the standard answer whenever anyone asked about the Light. Everyone knew that they were the ones who opposed the Monarchy and killed the royal family. Once the war was won, The Company used various mediums to spread this propaganda. Whoever tried to dig too deep, was killed.
Just like his aunt was murdered. Jonghyun did not regret killing her. She was a thorn in his way and knew that he was the son of a concubine, not a legitimate heir. In fact, she knew the real heir to the throne. After all, the will was made in front of her and she was one of the founding members of the Light. She knew too much and had to be silenced.
“They’re the bad guys,” Jonghyun insisted. “They killed the royal family and are now almost gone. Some of the members still pretend they are relevant but the group is just a remnant of the forgotten past.”
SD was quietly listening to his half-brother concoct lies. He kept his temper under check, trying not to think of all the things Jonghyun had done. In some ways, SD knew his brother was worse than the Company but in times like these, even an enemy like him came in handy.
Let’s see who saves her, brother, he thought. He was now hiding a slight smile, knowing very well that Sunye had planned all this for a reason. She was depending on SD to play his part and he was gladly going to do it.
After all, what was the purpose of a villain without the female lead of the story?
