Heretic In The Heavens - Chapter 22
Kewang Tian transformed once again, sweat pouring down his face like a waterfall! He screamed out. Not in pain but joy! It had taken him ninety-nine transformations just to stay conscious! But this was nothing. It had taken him many more to stay in peak condition.
On the day that Ming Yue told him, he would have to transform two hundred times in a row, he thought the task would be impossible. He thought that it couldn’t be achieved. That kind of pain, it just wasn’t possible to live through. But when Kewang Tian had reached two hundred, he stopped and looked back.
He had turned into someone with no knowledge of who or what he is, a being that didn’t know its purpose. He then had unwittingly turned out to be one of the biggest monsters since time memorial. This change, both changed him physically and mentally. It changed his destiny.
Kewang Tian was reluctant to undergo the pain. It would cause him to be just a breath away from death every time he transforms. Yet once he saw the light for the first time it was different. A light in the sea of darkness, it was a symbol to his subconscious. It was telling him to go for the light, to embrace who he truly was! After that, each transformation was even more painful, but he was awake.
That was the moment he decided. [If I must change ten-thousand times to truly embrace who I am, I will change ten-thousand times. If I anyone tries to stop me I will slay them. Even if it is death itself I shall slay them!].
His thoughts echoed through the tree. Sending his thought patterns throughout Spirit World. All the Spirits looked in fear, at what once was, is now reborn. At that moment three words that had not been uttered by the words of Man, Spirit or Beast since the time of Chen Hu resonated throughout Spirit World, going into the mind of all that were there “Celestial Devouring Beast”!

A young man was sleeping curled up into a ball. He was tall, had deep purple eyes, with cat-like pupils. His hair was pitch black, stealing whatever light approached it. This was, of course, Kewang Tian.
He had been undergoing a change for many years. He had stayed in the tree trunk for almost six years, doing nothing but change back and forth from a golden scaled monster.
Outside the tree, Ming Yue was sitting there with her eyes being red. She was able to feel Kewang Tian’s pain. Their souls were intrinsically attached to one another, and she could feel whatever he was feeling.
She slowly entered the tree, which she had been waiting outside of. Seeing the former boy, she couldn’t help but shake her head. His face may be chiseled, with high cheekbones, a square jawline, and a dimple on his chin, but he was the same child that drooled from the mouth when sleeping. She smiled to herself.
She shook him gently, trying to wake him.
“Oh, hey Ming Yue.” He smiled happily. He sat up and stretched his back, which aced tremendously. He yawned and rubbed his purple eyes.
[Are my hands bigger than usual?] he thought to himself. Kewang Tian looked at them making a strange face. [Must be my imagination.]
He slowly stood up, Ming Yue giving him a hand.
When he was on his feet he wobbled, not having any strength in his legs, he fell, straight onto Ming Yue!
She instantly blushed. He had grown a lot, yet he still wasn’t taller than Ming Yue. It had to be known though, that she was two and a half meters tall. Now Kewang Tian’s head only came slightly above her hefty chest.
“Cough. Maybe you want to get dressed.”
Kewang Tian looked down, to see himself he was nude. His pale face suddenly turned scarlet. [That’s right, my clothes are all ripped!] he looked around the cave, only to see torn up shreds of fabric about the place.
Pushing himself off her, Kewang Tian didn’t have the face to look her in the eyes.
“Cough. Err would you happen to have any clothes?”
She jumped up as well, brushing herself off. “What do I look like, a tailor?! No, I don’t have any clothes! You’ll just have to walk around in your birthday suit until you find something to wear!”
She snorted immediately exiting the tree.
“Wait!” Kewang Tian chased after her, with his had covering his crotch.
“Ouch!” Kewang Tian stubbed his toe on a tree chasing after her. Causing him to stumble even more and falling out of the tree altogether.
As he fell from the hole he couldn’t help but scream. Waving his hands in the air like a madman. [Oh Heavens, I don’t want to die like a fool!] his mind raced and he closed his eyes, gritting his teeth!
After a while, he opened one of his eyes slowly crept open to look around. “Huh.” He let out involuntarily. He then looked at how he was levitating in the palm of Ming Yue. Who was staring at him with cold eyes.
“It doesn’t matter if your nude anyway, we’ll be leaving soon, and you can find some clothes then.” She said, carrying him around, and trying not to stare at him too much, as she would occasionally blush.
“We’re going to waken your bloodline memories, then we’ll leave this place.” She said confidently.
“Ming Yue?”
“Yes.”
“I’ve already awoken my bloodline memories.”
When she heard this, she was stunned! She was positive, the fact that he had awoken earlier than expected, he wouldn’t be able to make his legacy memories come to light.
Kewang Tian scratched the back of his head with a big grin on his face, not knowing how to respond.
“What did you find out?” she enquired.
“Couldn’t you just read my mind?” he chuckled at her.
She looked at him with cold eyes, that obviously said something had changed, and that she couldn’t get into those memories.
“Well, I learned a few things. First, I learned about my bloodline, apparently, I’m not a Heavenly Devouring Beast, I’m a Celestial Dev-”
“What?!” she suddenly interrupted him.
Kewang Tian looked to her puzzled. [Did she not understand what that was or is she just simply flabbergasted?]
“Did you inherit information about the society of Devouring Beasts, or just the Celestial?”
[Society of Devouring Beasts, what is she talking about?] Kewang Tian scrunched up his face, not knowing what in the heavens she was talking about.
Ming Yue dropped him causing a loud bang on the ground. She looked at him with cold eyes that screamed ‘You can’t take a single thing seriously can you!’
“Don’t worry, that’s a lesson for a later day. What techniques did you inherit?” She asked curiously.
“Well, there weren’t many techniques. The voice said that I would remember more as my bloodline ranks up. When it reaches level 13, I should be remember everything.” He said with a smile.
“At the moment I only know a technique called ‘Celestial Devouring’, which augments my body, allowing it to absorbed Qi at an unnatural rate!”
“How much faster?” She quickly inquired.
“Anywhere from 40 to 100 times.” Kewang Tian said with seemingly innocent eyes.
“Monster.” She whispered to herself. “As soon as he enters the Divine Realm, where he’ll be able to use this technique he will blow past all his competition! Given the fact that every time he manages to rank up his bloodline the power of his techniques should double” Ming Yue suddenly felt a shiver down her spine, what kind of monster had she helped create.
Turning around to look at Kewang Tian all those thoughts were instantly cast away, as she noticed he was still laying on the floor, cleaning out his ears, with his pinkie finger. She couldn’t help but shake her head and let out a smile as well.
“It also neutralizes Qi” he suddenly remembered.
“What?! It neutralizes Qi, as in can turn Ice Qi, or Lightening into natural Qi?” She quickly asked in bewilderment.
Kewang Tian just nodded, not seeming like it’s a big deal. This evidently made Ming Yue upset she couldn’t drop him anymore!
“Oh, and it can also convert it.” Kewang Tian looked at her with big round eyes [Why is she coughing up blood. Do Spirits even have blood?] he continued picking his ear wondering to himself.
Slowly Ming Yue started to calm down. “Are there any other abilities I should know about before we leave?”
Kewang Tian shook his head, as he had no answer. “Oh, there is one more thing!”
“And that is.” Ming Yue asked quickly.
“My Scales. When I transform, of course, have runes of some kind. As I grow there will be more, as you can guess, but that isn’t the important part. The important part is that every different type of Qi will be assigned to a different scale and have a symbol for it.”
“So, you’ll have droplets of Qi types you can interchange?” She asked carefully not wanting to be surprised anymore.
“Err no not really but kind of.”
Ming Yue looked at him with cold eyes that said, “Tell me or I’ll gut you!”
“Well, whenever I encounter a new Qi type it will engrave itself upon one of my Scales. After which it will stay there permanently. The cool part about that is, that I can convert whatever Qi is around me at a certain time into a type that I have on my scales!”
“So, you’re telling me if you were struck by lightning, but wanted to convert all the Qi you absorbed from it into Water Qi it would be possible?!”
Kewang Tian simply smiled in a slightly annoying and obnoxious manner.
“Also, it said being able to convert each of the Scales into its own Dao, if I exceed a rank 7 bloodline!”
Hearing this Ming Yue turned from purple to green. ‘How can that be possible. Humans genius will take hundreds to tens of thousands of years to comprehend their Dao, but as soon as he hits rank 8, any time of Qi he encounters it’ll turn into a Dao!’
If he even fights a Sabre user, he’ll comprehend the Dao of the Sabre. If he encounters some Time-Space Qi, doesn’t that mean he’ll form the Dao of Time-Space! What if he encounters Primordial or Creation Qi! No wonder Celestial Devours were always killed at conception. Imagine if their bloodline managed to strive!’ Ming Yue suddenly started to panic. They were bond for eternity after their blood oath. She must influence him well, otherwise, what horrors will be brought into this world she does not know!
