Heretic In The Heavens - Chapter 24
Kewang Tian was sitting there with wide eyes. [The Abyssal sure sounds impressive]. He couldn’t help but be happy with himself after all this was his chance at finally cultivating!
“Greetings Senior Lie, young Miss Lie.” He gave a friendly smile.
Lie Bai gave a snort in response.
“Bai’er how rude!”
Smack. He slapped the back of her head, it seemed he had just about enough of her manners.
Lie Bai held the back of her head, her eyes started to water. It had to be known, that she wouldn’t usually receive this kind of treatment. She would usually be pampered and cared for, a queen bee of sorts.
“Now little friend you were saying?”
Cough.
Kewang Tian found it a little awkward coming between the two. It was quite upsetting actually!
“Senior Lie, it’s a long story. If I were to tell you, it could take all day.”
Lie Qu Shin simply chuckled. He sat opposite Kewang Tian cross-legged, looking rather agile for his age.
“Look up to the sky. The sun has just risen, we have all day.” He then patted next to him for his granddaughter to sit. She pouted, but was none the less obedient, not wanting to be smacked by here elder again.
“Continue.” He gestured.
“Well, how can I start. My name is Kewang Tian, I’m 17 I think.” He said whilst puzzled scratching his head.
“I know it sounds strange, but may I know what year it is?”
The pair looked at him with a strange face, as if they were saying ‘This boy should not be insane, should he?’
The girl was just about to say something, when Lie Qu Shin interrupted her, “Today is the 94th Year of the third era.” The boy intrigued him. Not knowing what year, it is, well that just screams mysterious!
Kewang Tian face went ashen. [What! You said that a year in the Spirit World, would be months in the Lower Realms!]
Ming Yue couldn’t help but be baffled as well. “Strange. I wonder why? Your bone age is only 17, yet you should be 44. Very strange indeed. Perhaps it’s because of the Spirit Tree that you were meditating in! Or maybe it’s because you entered the Spirit World Physically?”
[Wait, you mean that people don’t usually enter with their true body?] Kewang Tian was starting to panic.
“I asked you why you were there when I first met you didn’t I? Usually, Spirit Walkers will enter the Spirit World through meditation, or even through dreams! But you, on the other hand, managed to live there, which is rather strange.”
[What happens to the people that usually go there physically?]
“Their souls should instantly disintegrate. Only those with proper protection can enter otherwise. Or if someone has a special bloodline. But even then, those can stay at most a few hours, even if one was a Saint, they could stay have a day maximum!”
Kewang Tian was quite literally speechless! [Why didn’t you tell me before?!] he was livid. Fury was building up inside of him and felt betrayed.
[No. I cannot focus on this.] he slowly calmed himself. Kewang Tian knew that he must get to a place, which will help him cultivate.
[Breath. Slowly. In. And. Out.] he took a deep breath.
“Sorry, for that. It was quite a shock. It appears that I’m not 17, but 44.” He chuckled.
Lie Qu Shin looked at him strangely. Raising an eyebrow on his old face.
“Allow me to explain Senior. Since I was a boy, I’ve been very ill. I had dreams of beasts that had been extinct since antiquity. And one day I encountered a beast that said it wanted to borrow my body, and in return, it could heal me and make me better!”
Kewang Tian’s face turned dark.
“It was a trap though. It dragged me through a green luminescent portal, where I’ve been trapped in a place with three suns, and six moons. The skies were Purple, and it was filled with-”
“Spirits!” The old man suddenly interrupted. His eyes coming to a sudden realisation.
“Yes, Senior.” Kewang Tian eyes shone.
“If I’m not incorrect, I should have been there physically, although I do not know how. I was in a place called the Spirit Tree, or at least a sapling of the mother tree. Whilst I was there, I communed with some friendly Spirits. Most were annoyed by my presence, and others said that I shouldn’t be there.” Kewang Tian shook his head. Anybody could tell this junior was telling the truth, or what he understood of it at least.
Lie Qu Shin quickly revaluated the young man standing before him. Although the Abyssal School had a Spirit Hall, they’ve never been able to send someone there physically!
“Fascinating!” his eyes lit up with wonder. It had to be known Old Shin had always been one for fanciful things from different realms. In his youth others said that it was a waste of time, as he wasn’t a Spirit Walker, yet this knowledge had helped him comprehend the heavenly way sooner than all his peers, so naturally, he had a deep reverence for it.
“Say, little Tian, would you be interested in coming to visit the healing centre at the Abyssal School. It’s much warmer there, and they could provide some food for you, whilst treating those feet of yours.” He gleamed.
“Truly?” Kewang Tian’s eyes lit up. He hadn’t had a warm meal, in well nearly a decade!
Kewang Tian’s stomach just growled at the thought of food. And a little saliva leaked from his mouth. Which the old man couldn’t help but give a nonchalant smile.
He put his hand in his pockets and took out a little pouch. From the pouch, he then took out a set of spare clothes.
Kewang Tian jaw dropped.
[What is that magical item.] He couldn’t help but look at the magical pouch!
“Idiot! You see a little ball ball, and you think that it’s the most valuable thing in the world.” Ming Yue scalded him. “Don’t ask any questions, just get dressed. It’s the first time in 40 years you’ve changed your clothes.”
Kewang Tian’s face unsurprisingly sunk. Not wanting to reside on how long he had been absent from the world!
