Heretic In The Heavens - Chapter 31
Kewang Tian suddenly sat up, opening his eyes, and a deep shock hit him. Sweat was dripping down his brow, and his hands were shaking. He looked to his right, a large hand was on his shoulder. It was like a bear’s paw yet seemed gentle at the same time.
Following the arm along, he looked up to the face that it belonged to Shi Hui.
Rubbing his eyes slightly, he asked, “What happened? Did I pass the test?”
Shi Hui gave a hearty chuckled, pointing to the mountaintop, which had their scores engraved upon it.
First: Kewang Tian Score: 3796
Second: Shi Hui Score: 437
Third: Lie Bai Score: 139
.
Kewang looked up there astonished.
“My score how did it go so high?” his voice trembled.
“I do not know.” Shi Hui took a deep sigh. “Even Little Rage Emperor Zin only had a score of 1500, when he took the test. You’re effectively twice his talent. And that old Zin is now a respected Sect Master in the Divine Realm” Shi Hui’s voice quietened in the second part. Shaking his head gently.
Kewang Tian looked around, astonished, there were just over two hundred people that made it through to the mountain ranking it was hard to believe that this was a test taken by thousands of people.
Taking a deep breath, he looked up around to see where they were. As far as he knew, everyone was transported to an even larger meadow, with a mountain range going through the middle.
Suddenly he noticed a pretty figure in green, slightly shivering, and crystal tears cascading down her cheeks.
It was Lie Bai. Obviously, she thought she was going to be first. Yet, she only managed to get a score less than a thirtieth of her peers. She was truly shocked and heartbroken.
She caught, Kewang Tian’s gaze on her, she immediately snorted and started to stamp up and down on the ground in fury.
She thought that she would be a phoenix, rising from this trial, and would ascend to where none could stand her equal. Yet, she ended up here how disappointing.
It had to be known, that anyone who’s score came above 90 stood a chance of becoming an overlord in the Black Dragon Continent, and those above 120, could encounter heaven’s fortune, and one day leave for the divine realm.
One had to know, that even those rare genius in the divine realm would only get a score of 500, but what encounters were possible in that wondrous realm?
The folklore told by her grandfather once told tales, of young maidens being taken away from their families, yet they discovered some technique or fell into a bath of divine phoenix blood. Turning them from trash to heroes of the tale, claiming their freedom, and slaying any who dare deny them.
Yet, this stranger who had peeked on her in bathing had a score of 3796! Even if someone magically encountered some phoenix blood a thousand times, the maximum score they would receive would only be 1000, or 1200 maximum! A score of close to 4000 hasn’t been heard of even in the boldest tales.
Kewang could hear a girlish giggle in his ear, which was of cause Ming Yue.
[The little girly was so upset.] She snickered.
“Don’t be like that, she seems heartbroken.” Kewang Tian’s face softened, feeling genuinely sorry for the girl.
“You bastard! You pervert! You dare show that face for me?!?” Kewang Tian suddenly heard an almighty scream.
“Eurus’ Sword!” The dainty yet manic voice screamed. Whilst a giant sword made completely of wind formed above her head.
It shot down at Kewang Tian at an unbelievable speed. “Oh crap!” he whimpered.
In the distance, Shi Hui, looked on curiously, “Interesting Wind Qi, she’s managed to form it at such a young age she must have a Spirit Body.” He said whilst rubbing his chin.
[Quick do something dumb dumb!] Ming Yue yelled in his mind.
Kewang Tian was unable to hear though. Her words blocked out, all he felt was fear, dread. But then, something happened. A voice. A voice which seemed to resonate with his very being. Whispering a single word “Devour!”.
Kewang Tian put his hand in the air, shaking, as the sword made of pure wind shot towards him, sweat seeping out of him, he was let out a peep “ddevour”.
Suddenly a translucent vortex opened, sucking in the sword, which seemed to dive down it. After the vortex vanished! Replaced by a searing burning sensation on Kewang Tian’s arm.
“Ruhh!” he grunted with his teeth gritted together.
His eyes turned towards the spot that was burning, “Wind?!” Kewang Tian looked incredibly confused, as a symbol for the wind was burned into his flesh.
He reached out trying to touch it, as he ran his fingers along the marking it suddenly vanished.
[Ming Yue, what just happened?] he thought to himself.
[I have a theory but it would require for you to transform to prove it.]
[What theory?] Kewang Tian was curious.
[I believe that you have found your first Dao. The Dao of wind.] She said excitedly.
Hey, we managed to get 2K views yesterday that was insane! (Ugh, I hate myself for saying ‘insane’)
Unfortunately, we’re going back to the Emo kid Kewang Yun… he likes killing people way too much.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the chapter, getting back into this is like riding a bike. All the intricate things are there, you just need to figure out how to use them… Well, I suppose I could say the same about anything… sigh.
