Heretic In The Heavens - Chapter 8
Kewang Yun had been slightly lonely without Kewang Tian accompanying him, which although made him feel a little abandoned, but it was also a good thing, as he now dove into a martial fervour, increasing the amount of time he had to comprehend his techniques, and cultivation.
When he had gone to library he had chosen several techniques, that suited him, and as he was the scion of the Kewang Clan he was allowed access to even some earth ranked techniques, which was incredibly rare, and more valuable than the mortal, yellow and black techniques, the others in the clan couldn’t get their hands on.
Knowing this filled Kewang Yun a sense of pride, as usually only the elders of the Clan or those who broke through to Sea realm were allowed access to these techniques.
His father had personally taken him around, to pick his techniques. He ended choosing one cultivation method and two martial arts. First, the cultivation method was the 3rd level earth technique, [Asura’s Way], which was a powerful technique, which many in the Clan coveted, the problem though, was that it could only be graded as a Yellow Ranked technique, as it was only partially, complete. When he took it, his father was very puzzled as he could have chosen from many others, but Kewang Yun insisted on choosing this.
He then went to search martial arts, he was going through everything for a while, but eventually, he spotted a sabre technique called the [Laughing Sabre] which had seven forms two it, which all increased in power, as they progressed. Looking at it, Kewang Yun could spot the 7th form was an incorporation and mixture of all previous techniques combined, which could make him invisible to those at the same rank as him.
He was very pleased with his saber technique, but he felt that if he were to have incredible power and be impervious to people at the same rank as him, he felt that he should have an invulnerable body, therefore, he chose an old dusty tome, called the iron elephant technique.
Thinking back on his choices Kewang Yun could not help but chuckle in delight, and said to himself, “Once I have mastered these techniques, there won’t be anyone that can beat me!” he started to laugh in a crazed manner.
After reading for an untold amount of time he suddenly saw moonlight through the window, “Dam!” he thought to himself. “It’s already nightfall, and I haven’t been to see Xiao Tian.” He felt slightly guilty, all day he must have been stuck with that weird old man, that wore many glittering rubies. Just looking at him made Kewang Yun’s head feel a bit dizzy as if he was being repelled by those blazing stones and judged severely by his eyes. “If he looks at me like that imagine what he looks at Xiao Tian like.” Just thinking of that judgmental old man made his face frown, in his heart he felt slightly slighted. Thinking to himself “I’m a genius that comes along once in a generation, how could that old timer dare judge me, sooner or later, I’ll show him!” he then snorted in his heart.
Sigh
“I guess that I’ll just go visit Xiao Tian tomorrow, for now, I’ll try and get a head start on comprehending my techniques!” he then started to cycle through the techniques, barely getting through any of them before feeling a hunger for him and wanting more. He put down the [Laughing Sabre] and moved to the shabby half disintegrated technique of the [Asura’s Way]. He quickly read it. After he was stunned.
This [Asura’s Way], seemed much more profound any more of those techniques, the problem was that it wasn’t fully finished, so he had to fill in the blanks. As he started to look at the requirements for the Asura’s Way, his heart slightly shivered, ‘To attain the peak, one must be willing to plunge to the depths. One must be willing to purge all that they are. One must be willing to fully give their soul to the way.’
Kewang Yun, was both happy and sad. “I may have to face great hardships, but I will become more powerful than any in the Clan before me.” He then continued reading over the technique. Apparently, you needed, to absorb Qi, in the environment around the user, take it in through the meridians, and guide it into the Dantian. This was the first stage of Qi Condensing Realm, Qi Gathering!
In the [Asura’s Way] technique, it said that the better the person’s meridians the faster the person could absorb and gather Qi. It also says once you gather the Qi into your Dantian, you need to condense it! Once you condense it, you needed to keep condensing it until it turns into a strand.
If it were a normal technique, this is where you would stop, and try to refine it, but [Asura’s Way] was different! You must converge your negative emotions into your Dantian, your wroth, your hatred, your greed, infuse it into the Qi strand! This is what gives the Qi, an erosive power, that makes [Asura Qi] so special.
Following the instructions, Kewang Yun sat up straight and slowed his breathing, his intense heartbeat, calmed. The beat was now so slow, it would only beat a few times every minute. He reached out to him, trying to sense Qi, as he slowly sent his consciousness out, a translucent shadow appeared behind him, helping him gather his Qi.
Suddenly he felt it. It felt like there was an invisible force binding everything together, infusing everything, yet nothing, it was as if it was breathing life into the surroundings. “This, this is Qi!”
His heartbeat started to become more rapid. And a smirk emerged on his face, then it suddenly vanished, he had a feeling, one that told him something was very wrong. The Qi, it should be like someone breathing fresh air, yet it somehow felt ‘stale’, as if there breathing was repressed.
Humph! Kewang Yun snorted.
The shadowy figure behind him suddenly appeared more vivid, and more Qi was gathering faster, and faster. “If this Qi doesn’t want to gather fast enough for I – Kewang Yun, then I will make it force it to!”
A steady and lethargic Qi in the room started to become more lively and Chaotic, bouncing about the place, gathering, increasingly faster, and gathering around the shadow and then started to be absorbed by Kewang Yun’s Meridians. Flowing into him like a steady stream, having more and more Qi gather.
(Hey everybody, so Ive decided to reformat it a tad, from now on I will be referring to each chapter by the person its focused around and from there POV, totally not stealing ASOIAF format).
