Hessian Does A Thing - Volume 1 Chapter 12 Reality Marble
“and it was here that i began to speculate that the ‘quirk energy’ is mainly prevalent in early stages of childhood.”
Within a world of calm unmoving water. Hessian sat next to a man with long white hair dressed in a silk black robe and baggy white pants. By his side was a simple sheathed single edged blade. His eyes were closed as the young magician continued to speak while browsing the memory in front of him.
“The mutations to most people’s physical body seem to manifest after birth, although there were cases of them being like that since birth.”
This world was Hessian’s reality marble. Unlike Shirou Emiya’s, this world was created artificially through magic. At some point early on, hessian decided to take some inspiration from that wannabe hero’s magecraft. Hessian’s origin and element were both magic and memory, a dual incarnation. Counter guardian EMIYA’s tracing was essentially him recording a sword’s entire history within his reality marble so he could pull it out whenever he wanted to.
So hessian got the idea of doing something similar. He would store memories within this world. Underneath the surface of the still water that the two were sitting on were memories. Hessian would stuff memories he found worth recording into codes and leave them underneath the water. Unfortunately the young magician found his self hypnotizing trigger embarrassing, so to use his brand of magecraft, he would use a book.
The book itself was a mystic code he created, he would stuff a memory within each page such as a memory of a flaming blast or a powerful opponent’s punch. Ofcourse some memories used more pages than others, but it’s still an effective and interesting way to fight when he isn’t transformed.
“Well I’ll see you again tomorrow” he said to the unmoving person in his world. His eyes still closed as if he were in deep meditation.
This man was not a human. He was a sword spirit or to be more specific, a zanpakutou spirit. After Hessian had left ‘Bleach’, he made himself an asauchi. which is a zanpakuto that still hasn’t had a master’s soul imprinted on it. It had been quite some time since the spirit had manifested in his world, but despite all attempts at communication. The sword spirit never responded to Hessian which is why he mainly uses the Moonlight greatsword as his weapon to date.
The sword spirit had only ever looked at Hessian once when he first saw him. He never responded to Hessian asking his name. He would simply remain seated in seiza position with his eyes closed. However Hessian never stopped trying to talk to his zanpakuto. Nearly each day, the magus would come to this world and just chatter on about his day. Sometimes he would bring up memories from beneath and explain his research.
The spirit never seemed annoyed by his master’s constant chatter but Hessian could tell he was listening. He hoped one day they could fight together, but until then he needs to use whatever is more effective than some sealed katana.
Tomoko felt her eyelids slide open as her consciousness returned. Her body didn’t hurt anymore so that was great, but she felt tired. So incredibly tired. Normally she would be incredibly energetic but right now she’d rather sleep some more, so she allowed her eyes to fall again.
“Oh good you’re awake” Her eyes snapped right open as she realized this wasn’t the time to be sleeping.
The hero Ragdoll turned her head towards the voice to a… kid with a clip board? He seemed to notice her alertness as he lifted a brow.
“No need to panic, I’ve already inspected your body and quirk. Right now I just need to ask you some standard questions” he tried to placate her as a tiny little cartoon character (?) walked right up to her with a cup of water. She blankly accepted it as she was trying to make sense of what she was looking at. Then she noticed that it felt incredibly breezy, looking down she realized that when the blanket fell, her sizable cups were uncovered for all to see. As her state of undress dawned on her, she quickly covered herself and backed towards the wall as she gave the 17 year old a glare.
Hessian raised his brow as he waved a hand “I’ve already seen everything. Besides you don’t need to worry as I already fondled you in your sleep”
“THAT’S PLENTY REASON TO WORRY!” she yelled as she waved one of arms at him.
“Jeez what’s wrong with me gettin a bit of a reward for saving you?” he replied as he covered his ear with one hand.
“You molested me in my sleep!”
“It was just cupping a feel, besides I healed you too so you could say were even”
“I don’t agree! What kind of hero molests the people he saves!” she retorted
“Well I’m a villain so you’re argument is invalid” He pointed out
“Wha?” she questioned dumbly as the teenager seemed to glow brightly.
When the light died down she was stunned to see a taller figure towering over her with his arms crossed. “Frost!?” she yelled as she pointed at him with her free arm.
The flash came on again as he dematerialized his suit.
“The one and only.” he responded with a smug grin at her gaping face.
It only took a moment for her to go back on full alert
“What do you want from me?” she cautiously asked
“Ah right, I just need you to answer some questions so I can ascertain on how you were capable of finding me with your quirk. Before you shouldn’t have been able to, but it seemed like your quirk evolved or something.” he says as he got his clip board again
“That’s all?”
“Yep”
“And you’ll let me go?”
“Yep”
“Why should I believe you?”
“Yep”
“STOP SAYING THAT!” she yelled as her arm started waving again.
“Well I totally could have just left you to die back there.” he said honestly
Ragdoll shuddered as she remembered the terrible feeling of having something ripped from your body. She took a moment to calm down as Hessian patiently waited. She used her quirk to search her surroundings but there seems to be some kind of wall blocking her quirk from going further.
“So you ready?” he asks as he watched her nod.
“Alright thanks for that, you can leave now. The Nobu will lead you out” Hessian said as the chibi nobu held up some regular clothes.
She quickly dressed herself as the young magician went back to his research which was scattered around his messy desk. She was a little surprised that he’s keeping his word. She turned to look at him going over the files on his desk.
“Um… Thank you” She gave her sincere gratitude as he just waved it off and kept his focus on the files.
After a short moment passed, Hessian noticed he could still feel her presence behind him. He didn’t say anything as it’s obvious she wants to ask him something.
“Why are you a villain?” The shuffling of papers stopped for a moment.
“Why does it matter?” he responds
“Well… I don’t think you’re a bad person.” she understands that most people have their own circ.u.mstances to commit crimes. But this villain in front of her saved her and just let her go.
“It’s just a means to an ends.”
“What?”
“Being a villain. I have a goal and being a villain is simply the most convenient way for me to achieve that goal.” was his response
“What’s your goal?” she pressed
“Researching quirks.” Hessian was too lazy to lie so he just says it like it is.
Ragdoll had an incredulous look on her face
“But there are proper jobs for that. You don’t have to be a villain!”
The magi chuckled a little at her response
“Everyone has their own circ.u.mstances. It’ll get late soon, I’m pretty sure you have people worried about you.” he went back to his research. He doesn’t mind conversation, he believes that it keeps him sane.
Ragdoll still felt uncomfortable for some reason. She wasn’t sure why she felt that way when he answered her. Maybe because she thinks it’s a waste for him to be a villain? Maybe because he saved her? Perhaps it was because he basically molested her in her sleep? She was still ticked off about that but what can she do?
Hessian noticed she was still around and started to feel a bit awkward. He isn’t really a fan of someone just standing around watching him in silence. It’s honestly unnerving to him.
“Get going already. Unless you’re asking me to a date or something” He jokingly said
“When?”
“Eh?” Hessian dropped his papers
“When’s the date?” she didn’t sound like she was joking
Within the calm world of water, the nameless spirit continued to meditate in seiza. In the distance a large splash took place as the water rippled from the frantic steps of his master. The young magician ran up to his ever present sword spirit with joy.
“I GOT A DATE!” he declared to the unmoving spirit
