Hessian Does A Thing - Volume 1 Chapter 40 Mud
Hessian POV
My body’s losing blood but that’s not the issue right now. Looking at Illya, the wound doesn’t seem to be that bad considering I stopped the main brunt of the attack. Still pierced her through me though, so I’ve got two options. Let her die and make a new body or just heal her right now. Letting her die is out of the question since Berserker would disappear if she did.
“YOU BASTARD!” wut? I turn to see Shirou launching traced blades at Gilgamesh, only for them to shatter like glass-work in the face of the original. Guess he isn’t used to spamming it yet. He was forced back with Rin helping him stand.
“Be silent Faker! I will deal with you in time, for now.” I leave Onyx on Illya so I can focus on Gilgamesh. “Hessian.” he spoke my name. Wait what? Oh right, he’s got Sha Naqba Imuru. So it isn’t surprising that he knows who I am.
“Consider that your only warning, I will pardon your transgressions should you choose to depart from this farce of a war.” he spoke arrogantly and sort of fondly? “The mongrels of this era are not worth your efforts, Hessian!”
I stood up as my wounds finally closed and looked over to Assassin with half lidded eyes. He took out Koji too, the d.i.c.k. “Apologies Master, It seems I’ll be departing sooner than expected” Assassin faded, leaving the bloodied golden spear in his spot. I also spot Saber being attacked by…. Lancer? He’s still here? I’ll just let those two fight it out.
“Man, this is awkward King Gilgamesh” I say while stretching my newly healed body lazily. “I was sort of hoping that skill of yours wouldn’t be able to discern my identity. To be honest, I actually do understand why you’re so disappointed in the humans of this era.” I take a moment to sincerely bow to him. Even if he is the asshole version of the King I admired, he still deserved at least this much respect. “I thank you for holding me in such high regard that you would just let me leave. However I’ll have to decline.” I spoke as I stared directly at his red eyes.
“Very well. Then you will fall here, Humanity’s last Master!” Thousands of portals rippled to existence behind the man as he stood on the higher ground. He really is taking me seriously, but I’m not his only opponent.
“!!” Berserker didn’t take the assault on his Master well. I watch him lunge 50 feet in the air towards Gilgamesh.
“Hmph!” I see the Chains of Heaven restricting Heracles, but that’s enough time. In the face of the oncoming barrage of thousands of blades, pages flew out in a barrier formation.
*CRACK*
He cracked my barrier already? I guess it makes sense since he’s throwing noble phantasms at me. The dude has me on the defensive since I have people I need to protect. Man I hate being cornered like this..
“Shirou!” I yell out at him as I watch his head snap towards me. “SHOOT SOME BLADES BACK AT HIM ALREADY! I CAN’T DO THIS ALL DAY!” well I could, but the barrier itself can’t
Hessian continued to hold out against Gilgamesh’s never ending barrage. If he were alone, he could probably fight head on, but Illya, Rin and the maids would be in danger if he put down the barrier.
“Trace on!” floating weapons manifested in the air to match Gilgamesh’s onslaught of blades. Heracles seemed to just be dangling in the air as he tried to break free from the chains of heaven. Unfortunately his efforts were fruitless as his last lives were lost when he was impaled to death before he could escape.
“Faker! Know that this was not meant for you!” the gold archer yelled over the sound of clashing blades as he made his content for the Hero of Justice known. Red twisting energy erupted from beneath Gilgamesh as Hessian actually felt some panic.
“OH COME ON! ISN’T IT A BIT OVERKILL FOR YOU TO USE THAT HERE!?” Hessian shouted indignantly as Ea began to rise from the twisting portal.
“I BELIEVE YOU TO BE WORTHY OF DYING TO MY SWORD!” The archer shouted back while the Sword of Rupture was nearly halfway out.
“YOU KNOW WHAT, F.U.C.K IT! ERESH! BABE! IF GIL KILLS ME THEN WE CAN’T GO ON OUR DATE LATER!” Hessian cried out as the space above Gilgamesh trembled in response to his cries.
“WhAT!?” the distorted voice of anger boomed out from space forcing nearly everyone to lose their footing. “GILgAmeSH! YoU DAre STAnd BeFORe Me aND My DATE!?” the invisible fury of a god could be felt as the king seemed to take the hint and reach for Ea before things got bad.
However the moment before his hand could grip the Sword of Rupture, an arrow ripped straight through his hand. Gilgamesh’s eyes widened as he turned towards the direction of the shooter.
“FFFAAAAAKKKEEEEERRRR!” he roared out in anger at the archer who was somehow still alive.
“COmE HEre!” Giant skeletal hands ripped through space and gripped him. The sight of the golden King being dragged through the tear was a horrifying sight, as what awaited on the other side of the tear was nothing but the dark abyss and hundreds of skeletal gallu spirits.
The space tear quickly closed off and all that was left was the terrifying chill of death that lingered in the area.
“Wait, why did that voice sound like Tohsaka?” Shirou asked
“That sounded nothing like me!” Rin screeched at him offended. “Also, shouldn’t we help Saber?” she gestured over to Artoria and Cu still duking it out in a battle of skill.
“Naw, I’m tired. Just let them fight it out, I need some chill time.” Hessian spoke tiredly as he began to take a nap on the ground.
“Wait, what about Kirei!?” Rin reminded as she tried to stop the young magician from falling asleep.
“That’s right! We can’t just leave him alone!” Shirou added as the sadistic priest gave him dangerous vibes. Who knew what he would do when alone.
“Don’t worry, I have someone on the job” Hessian sleepily informed as he proceeded to knock out
Kotomine Kirei seemed to be in quite the conundrum. The entire war was meaningless now as there wasn’t enough servants dead to power the grail. Caster disappeared, Gilgamesh defeated, Lancer and Berserker dead and the rest of the Masters don’t seem to be keen on killing each other. Fortunately the grail seems to be aware of this at least.
Kirei watched in fascination as mud spewed out of the grail, creating a small puddle around it. From the mud, the figures of the already dead servants rose. The difference being that they seemed darker than the original. More corrupted servants seemed to spawn as the grail believed it needed to go all out, if it wanted to defeat the intruding True Magician.
This would be quite a problem for Hessian, if he didn’t already expect it to happen. The overwhelming presence of regression reverberated through the air as more mud invaded the cave. However this mud did not come from the grail. Kirei watched with confused thoughts as the mud seemed to out-corrupt the mud from the grail. The corrupted servants seemed to be overwhelmed as they darkened even further and destabilized. In the end the grail was ultimately drowned out by the foreign corruption.
“What?” was all Kirei could vocalize before the sound of laughter interrupted his thoughts
“KEHEAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” black monsters with only mouths for heads surrounded the fake priest.
“Father. Says. Get. Rekt. KEHEAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” The priest attempted to eliminate the odd creatures but to no avail as they weren’t stopped by the black keys.
The incessant maniacal laughter didn’t stop as Kirei accepted his end at the hands of the Lahmu.
