Hessian Does A Thing - Volume 1 Chapter 55 Soul Dancer
Within the Hostess of fertility. An adventurer, a magician and a minotaur took a seat. Their eyes were hidden by the shadows on their faces. Well two of them anyway, Bell Cranel seemed to be hiding his face from being seen with Hessian and his new friend Bulltaro.
“What can I get for you guys, nyaaa….?” The cat girl seemed to be wary of the towering minotaur as she took their orders.
Hessian revealed his eyes from the shadows that hid them and raised up three fingers.
“Three Iced teas.” he spoke with manliness while Bulltaro seemed to puff hot air out of his nose with a nod of his head in agreement.
“..A-Actually I was a little hungry and was hoping fo-”
“THREE ICED TEAS!” Hessian said louder this time as he cut off Bell.
“R-Right, Three iced teas coming up nyaa!” the cat girl ran back to the counter at top speed.
“Um… why are we only ordering tea?” Bell asked
“Mmm, because that was the manly thing to do!” Hessian spoke as if lecturing the aspiring hero.
“Hahahahaha! I kid you not, they were dancing with the monsters! Funniest shit I’ve ever seen!” a wolf man from the Loki familia said loudly with a laugh. “That white haired weakling looked like he was about to die!”
Bell seemed to hear this and lowered his head in shame. Hessian rose a brow as he glanced at Bulltaro, seemingly communicating through eye contact. The two manly duo of a magician and monster stood up and lifted the sulking protagonist by the shoulders.
“Eh? Hey! What are you guys doing!?” Bell cried out as the two walked him towards the Loki Familia, a hand on each of his shoulders.
“Oi, wolf brat.” Hessian and Bulltaro stood on both sides of Bell, looking like giants with their eyes shadowed.
“Aaah? What the hell do you want? Wait aren’t you guys the idiots that danced with the monsters?! Hahaha!” The adventurer known as Bete laughed as he ridiculed the two. “Wait, isn’t that a minotaur!? What the hell is that thing doing out of the dungeon?!”
“Don’t worry about that.” Hessian spoke with crossed arms. “All you need to worry about are those words that you carelessly threw around.” he gave him a bored look.
“Huh? You got a problem with what I said?”
“Oh, I don’t. But my friend here demands an apology.”
“I-I do!?” Bell was unsure of how the situation was unfolding.
“Oh? And what’s gonna happen if I don’t apologize?” he challenged with a smirk
“Bete, just apologize.” Riveria sighed while Ais seemed to be staring at the trio with a blank look.
“Yeah! You were being too mean there Bete!” an amazon added
“You guys stay out of this!” Bete yelled and looked back at the trio.
“Well, our friend here is gonna kick your ass and dance circles around you!” Hessian declared while Bulltaro gave a grunt in acknowledgment.
“No I’m not!” Bell cried out
“Bring it on then! Outside right now!” Bete said as he exited the resturant.
“Your funeral.” Hessian smirked
“Don’t I get a say in this!?”
OUTSIDE
With a crowd surrounding the two, the fight was getting hyped up. Bell was trembling as he was trying to comprehend how it came to this. His opponent Bete stood relaxed, expecting nothing.
“Let’s make this fast, I don’t have time to waste with a scrawny weakling like you.” Bete spoke ridiculing his opponent.
Bell looked down with a shadowed face at the insult. However, Hessian’s mental voice reached his mind. “Do you want to win?”
“What?” Bell looked over at where Hessian stood with Bulltaro who was carrying a boombox.
“I said, do you want to win? Or are you gonna just take his shit talk?” the mental voice muted all other sounds from his surroundings. The voice carried a will that seemed to look down on the world. It demanded an answer.
“Yes…” he responded through his mind
“I can’t hear you.”
“YES, I WANT TO WIN!” This time Bell shouted out, freaking out his opponent at the random outburst.
“Then dance” The powerful voice commanded as Bell’s body seemed to do the rest. Right as Bete was about to reach Bell Cranel, Bulltaro hit the music.
His body moving through pure instinct ingrained through the demand of refined spiritual essence, Bell Cranel dodged the first rush of attacks through quick dance moves.
“What the hell?” Bete muttered as Bell’s body lashed out with the beat and smacked the wolf man’s face.
While Hessian was in the dungeon, he had used his voice coated in his refined spiritual essence. It had forced Bell to follow along with his will, the last time he used it like this was when he tried to stop a mob of Lahmu with his voice. Hessian and Bulltaro smirked at the sight of Bell kicking Bete’s ass to the sound of the beat.
In the future of this timeline, Bell Cranel would be known as G.S.D. for the skill added into his arsenal. The Great Soul Dancer.
Hessian POV
“Why didn’t it change much?” Eresh asked confused
I’ve come into a problem that I’ve just realized I had. My stats barely changed, which means I gained very little from my short trip to the dungeon. Although my trip to the dungeon was short, I killed hundreds of mobs easily.
“There are a few reasons that I suspect.” I say while taking a seat on the couch in our current house that I created in Orario.
“The experience gained could be related to how difficult it is for the adventurer. I guess the fact that I can one shot everything lowers my gains.” I hypothesize, at this point I’m just taking guesses
“Supposedly, you can level up even without going to the dungeon.” I say as I’ve heard of people with falnas in far off lands. “However there doesn’t seem to be any level fives outside of Orario, at least none that I’ve heard of.” The most I heard was level 4 and that was incredibly rare.
The dungeon seems to make things easier for people to level as they kill stuff and gain ‘exilia’ from slain monsters. However as you go higher in level, it becomes more difficult and you stop getting anything from trash mobs.
“Then do you think it’ll be different if you go further in the dungeon?” Eresh asked as she left the status sheet for me.
“Maybe, I guess it depends on how strong the mobs are. If not, then I’ll probably always be level 1 unless I go to stronger realities or fight the old man again.” I wonder how much I would have gained if I had a falna back when I was fighting the Head-Captain
“Just don’t bite off more than you can chew.” She reminded me as she knew my craving to fight someone strong. I didn’t have it before, but after my fight with the old man, it’s just this small urge to charge head first into dangerous world. I’ve recently suppressed it, so I wouldn’t just go battle crazy.
“No promises.” I respond as the future is unknown. Unless I really wanted to know it, but where’s the fun in that?
“By the way…. why is ‘that’ here?” Eresh asked as I turned over to see Bulltaro leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. He was still wearing clothes, so no one stopped him as we left the dungeon. However a lot of people couldn’t help but stare at the minotaur when they saw him.
“Oh, he’s Bulltaro.” I introduce as the bull gives a huff of air through his nose and nods towards the goddess.
“Is he at least house trained?” she asked with a sigh
“Don’t worry, apparently monsters in the dungeon don’t need to piss or shit.” It was an interesting discovery. Perhaps the sentient ones are different? I’d have to do some research on that, but I’ll leave that for another time.
“For now, I think I’m gonna go mess with people” I smiled as I tried to remember relevant characters.
