Hidden Hallows - 165 Tables Turning
The Angel sends a quick glance to the other Angels before turning back to me and eyeing me with caution. The Angel I kicked earlier, stands up with a glare and says “She’s a monster and deserves to be put in jail!”
The Angel in charge quickly glances at that Angel and tells him to leave before turning back to me and saying “Hallows… that name is very familiar to me. There seems to have been a misunderstanding or some kind of mistake.” He then turns to the others and says “Leave us.”
A few hesitate while a few others say “Elder, she’s clearly unstable and dangerous. It’s not wise to be alone with her.” I cock a dark eyebrow up and smirk at him as I say “Nervous now?” His hands clench into fists but he doesn’t turn to look at me. Choosing to ignore me but the leader waves a hand and says “Leave”
Everyone else leaves the large room but because there’s no door now, there wasn’t any true privacy. He gestures to a chair before saying “Please, have a seat and tell me what has happened.” I slowly take a seat before nodding and saying “I just told you what happened.”
He takes a deep breath before deeply sighing and saying “Yes… but what are they accusing you of my dear?” I tilt my head, silently gauging him before saying “I helped two male Elves escape your Eternal prison. For the record, I didn’t know they were in your Eternal prison. I was just told they were sealed away by several powerful people.”
He blinks in surprise before frowning and saying “Two male Elves? We only have one very dangerous female.” Huh… there seems to be more to this than I had originally thought. As soon as he finishes his sentence, a dark look passes over his normally pleasant face before he yells out “Philip!”
An Angel quickly walks into the room and asks “What is it, Elder?” The Angel they keep referring to as Elder, turns and says “I want a report on every Elf we have in custody. NOW!” The Angel quickly nods and takes off.
The Elder turns back to me and says “Hallows… that name sounded extremely familiar my dear but now that I know that you can break someone out of our prison, you could only come from one. Cara, the very first Witch. Courtesy of my very lightning strike.”
As he says this, he smiles with a hint of pride but it was out of love, like a father would have for his own child. I suddenly smile as I say “Yes, she’s technically my great great great grandmother.” His smile grows as he nods with happiness and says “I’m glad to see the great Hallow’s bloodline is still alive.”
The Angel named Philip comes back in and reports “One female Elf, Elder.” The elder gives him one nod before waving him away. When he turns back to me, he gives me a grave look before saying “So, either my men are lying or you are.”
The Elder moves a few things and with a wave of his hand, beautiful glass cups appear on the table next to us. He lifts his other hand and something like a wine bottle appears. He uncorks the bottle and pours a golden, shimmering liquid into both glasses.
He hands me one and takes the other as he says “Please join me for a glass of heavenly wine while my men investigate what has happened. By the end of this bottle, my men will have everyone involved kneeling before me.”
I nod with a small smile and lift the glass to my nose, I take a small sniff and instantly feel my mouth watering. What? When he sees my surprise, he chuckles and says “Normally, humans and other supernaturals can’t drink this wine. Only Angels, but you are unlike others. You’re a Hallows.” He lifts his glass and takes a sip so I do the same.
It takes everything in me not to moan at the flavors bursting to life in my mouth but I still couldn’t help the slight shake of my hand. I look back to the glass with desire before shaking my head and taking another sip.
When I hear another chuckle, I turn to find the Elder smiling at me with amusement before taking another sip and saying “Truly amazing. This wine is called Desire. If someone can’t resist, they will drink themselves to death. They will completely lose their minds…”
He holds the glass up, allowing the bright light to catch the glass and golden liquid inside. I watch with mixed emotions and take another sip before putting the glass down on the table. Desire… it was a very befitting name for the irresistible wine.
Suddenly, an Angel looking like a soldier walks in and reports “Elder, someone has attacked the Eastern Gates.” The Elder frowns and says “Why are you reporting this to me? Kill them and get rid of them.”
The soldier looks a bit uneasy as he says “We have… multiple times but… he can’t be killed.” The Elder frowns and I can’t help but feel a bit uneasy. Could it be? Before the Elder could say anything, I stand up and ask “He? What is he?”
The Angel turns to look at the Elder but when the Elder nods, he turns back to me and says “A demon.” The door they just had restored come flying into the room and comes to a sliding stop in front of us.
The soldier pulls out his blade, ready to battle but when I see Kian walk into the room, eyes blazing red, I can’t help but smile. The Elder sighs behind me and says “He must belong to you…” I lightly chuckle and say “Yup, that’s my man.”
As soon as Kian’s eyes land on me, he’s moving. The Elder waves for the soldier to stand down as I meet Kian halfway. He pulls me into a tight hug and buries his face into my hair. He inhales deeply before looking over to the two Angels behind me and tightening his hold on me.
