Hidden Hallows - 167 Clean House
My eyes once again drift back over to the kneeling Maro at the end. I don’t know why but I feel like he made a complete idiot out of me. On some level, I had trusted him. I look away and allow the Elder to handle the situation.
This was his place, his people. Unless I’m directly attacked, I won’t lift a finger. As soon as I turn to grab the glass of heavenly wine, Kian already has it and is holding it out to me. Damn, he’s just too good… I take it with a small smirk before turning back to the kneeling Angels.
I take a sip of wine and wonder why the Elder is just silently staring at them. Is this an act of intimidation? I take another sip as someone else walks into the room in a fit of rage. Another angel but this one walks with his chin up in the air as if he’s superior. Micha… the Angel from the report. The Elder must have been waiting for him…
“Osca! What’s the meaning of this!?” The Micha demands while glaring at the Elder. So the Elder’s name was Osca. Osca gives him a dry look and says “What does it look like I’m doing, Micha?” Micha comes to a stop behind the kneeling Angels and says “Clearly overstepping yourself! These are my men. If they’ve done anything, I will deal with them. Not you.”
Because my wine glass was empty again, I lean over and grab the bottle. I pour a full glass and start drinking again with a smirk. This was going to be good. Osca smiles for the first time as he says “I’m glad you’ve acknowledged them as your men. Unfortunately, they’ve harmed this young lady and she falls under my jurisdiction. So now it’s my problem.”
When I feel the angelic power growing in the room, I glance to Kian in concern. When I see the slight tightening of his lips, I release my magic and cover him in a blanket of protection. He leans in and lightly kisses my jaw with a small smile.
I turn back to find the two powerful Angels silently staring each other down. I was starting to get bored. Or drunk… maybe both. I down the rest of my glass before patting Kian’s leg and standing up. Every Angel in the room turns to me as I lift my free hand and wave with a smirk.
I keep my eyes on Micha and say “Hi, since everyone here knows who I am… I won’t introduce myself and waste everyone’s time but I just have a few things to ask you before you die.” Micha scoffs at me but I see the fear in his eyes. He’s not fooling anyone but himself.
“Die? I think that’s going a bit far Miss….” He says, pretending not to know me. I slowly start walking closer, smiling in delight when the kneeling Angels tense. I stop before the kneeling Angels and stare at Micha on the other side of them and say “Drop the act, asshole. Everyone here knows what you’ve done and what you wiped you ass with yesterday. I just want to know why you were holding Queen Cara’s brothers prisoners?”
I chuckle again and lift my glass to him but when I see that it’s empty, my laughter grows. “It looks like your plans worked out just like the wine in my glass.” I slowly tilt the glass over, showing just how empty it is before saying “You didn’t kill them because you had hoped to use them again. If by some chance she showed up again or if there was another you could manipulate with them… you kept them for ‘Just in case’. Did I miss anything?”
The veins on the sides of his face were nearly bulging out with the anger he was trying to control before he snaps and says “You and the whole Hallows bloodline is a disgrace! You’re vile, disgusting creatures, that shouldn’t exist. Especially you! Do you think you’re actually something? Hah! You’re a joke. A MISTAKE that belongs in the deepest pits of hell with your little demon boy toys! I should have killed you the day you were born. No! I should have killed that whore of a woman you call Mother!”
The glass in my hand shatters and so does he. He literally explodes like someone stuck dynamite up his feathered ass! Blood and bits go flying everywhere as chaos breaks out in the room. Kian’s arms wrap around me as some of the Angels charge at me.
Using the blood dripping from my hand, I send out a blast of lethal blades. Arms, legs, and even a few heads go flying as my blood cuts through them without mercy. The guards Osca had guarding the room all freeze with wide eyes but not a single one of them is hurt.
When I see a familiar figure dragging himself away, I push Kian’s hand away and walk over to Maro. I lift my foot and place it down on top of Maro’s back, right between his wings. They used to be so beautiful but they were now damaged and covered in blood.
I use my magic to keep him from moving and feel him groan. I lean down closer and say “I trusted you…” I reach out with my magic and rip both wings off with my teeth clenched tight. His screams fill the room causing all the other angels to cringe in fear.
Some even look like they want to help him but not a single one moves. I toss his wings to the floor and remove my foot. I turn around to find Osca watching with wide, horror-filled eyes. I guess exploding Angels can have that effect on others.
To be honest, I didn’t know I could. When he called my mother a … I lost control. I wanted to kill him. I wanted him to die and that’s exactly what happened.
