Highschool Dxd Fate Unbound - Chapter 5 New Home

Haruto could distinctly hear the sound of an angry monster, that sent a chill down his spine and weirdly Griselda on the driver’s seat with a satisfied grin on her face.

Haruto: (Light! what was that! and shouldn’t Griselda have reacted!)

Light: (I’m sure the best course of action is you ignoring it)

And that is how our Hero takes his first step in his journey.

Eventually on the way Haruto fell asleep because of boredom and Griselda didn’t mind him dozing off in the middle of the ride.

After an indefinate time the car finally stopped in front of a large sized Church, It was bigger than the orphanage but only the prayer hall was open to the public the rest was off limits.

Griselda: Wake up sleepy head.

As much as Griselda enjoyed watching Haruto’s sleeping face, she really had to register Haruto in the church so she can take him under her custody quickly, so she started gently shaking him.

Haruto: (Yawn) Are we here Big..Sis….

Griselda: Hmmmmmm (cross arms and staring)

Haruto: Uh i mean….Mom are we here. (Awkward)

Griselda: Yes we are here Haru, now come along I’ll show you your new home. (smile)

Even though Haruto was reincarnated his young age along with his body effects him causing him to be known by others as a “Smart Kid” not Grown up, as for the matter of his new “Mom” well since he was being taken to be nurtured as a warrior Griselda “thought” it will be a good idea to instead be adopted by her that way she will have more leeway if some of the more “corrupt” officials wanted to get their hands on Haru with the plus bonus of Griselda agitating her friend.

Getting out of the car with Griselda in hand, Haruto couldn’t help but become starry eyed, in other people’s prespective this was only an elegant church but since Haruto practiced senjutsu along with energy control training Even if he couldn’t pinpoint all the signatures because of his limited range he could without a doudth sense the different energy signatures along with the formation that was layed on the foundation of the church in his eyes this was nothing short of a well maintained Base of Operations.

Guard: Lady Griselda. (lowers head)

Griselda: Raymond i hope that in my abscense everything was alright.

Raymond: Not to worry Lady Griselda everything was alright (looks towards Haruto) and may i ask who this fine young man is?

The man that appeared looked to be in his 30s wearing priest clothing with a unique looking “red cross” with golden outline, he had a black beard as well as clean mustasche, square faced and looked stern but Even that face softened up when seeing Haruto’s cute face as well as unique “soothing” aura.

Haruto only had one thought seeing Raymond and that was.

Haruto: (Strong)

Even though Raymond had supressed his aura, it felt like his power was like a large body of water sealed in a tank, unknown how much was in it but enough to intimidate all his enemies but Haruto still felt Griselda was stronger mainly cause of the fact that he was respectfully addressing Griselda as “Lady”

Haruto: Hello Uncle are you perhaps Mom’s friend?

No amount of training could have prepared Raymond for this moment, eyes widening he looked towards the little boy that just addressed the Church’s “Demon Woman” as his Mother! Thinking he misheard or something he looked towards his Boss with a questioning gaze.

Beaming Griselda replied: Haru this is my second in command here and Raymond this here is my son Haruto.

Raymond used every last drop of his will power to keep his mouth from falling, this was just how unbelievable the news was but quickly getting his composure he replied.

Raymond: Hello Young Master, I am Raymond Twon.

Haruto nodded and was slowly realizing his mom had some mischievous tendencies, not that he was complaining, the joys of being a Kid.

Griselda: Raymond we’ll talk later for now i have to get Haru settled.

Nodding to eachother Griselda again took Haruto’s hand and led the way. They arrived to a courtyard that was inside the settlement, said courtyard had a garden attached to it and overall looked normal and serene, moving inside Haruto entered his room.

His room was normal with a bed, wardrobe, desk and a window that allows sunlight in, after checking everything out he left his room and made his way to the living room where Griselda had told him to come after settling in.

The living room was also normal with a sofa set along with a TV, on one of the sofas layed Griselda along with a little Kid, A Girl to be precise that looked about Haruto age she had long blue hair with green streaks and was considered cute moreso if she took off the emotionless robot expression.

Haruto: (could this be)

Griselda: Haru good you’re here let me introduce you to your other housemate, this is Xenovia Quarta.

Haruto: (I knew it!) Hi I’m Haruto (smile)

Xenovia: ……..(shakes hand)

Haruto: Want a cookie (Sweating)

Now Haruto really wanted to facepalm he actually couldn’t handle a child’s gaze that he actually resorted to doing something cartoonist like a “Cookie bribe” and this was the last of the cookies he was given by Mary before he left and Boy! did they taste Good! he fell asleep shortly after finishing most of them in the ride.

Suddenly Haruto felt the cookie blur and disappear, looking up he saw Xenovia in the middle of munching on it, that was honestly very cute.

Haruto: (so fast that she actually left an after image behind!)

Griselda was watching the Two kids interaction with visible amusement.

Griselda: (This might be the start of a beautiful friendship)

After settling the kids down and telling Haruto to do only some Light excercises and the same routine they followed at the Orphanage, Griselda went to her office while her second in command Raymond was listing all the past Events and report to her.

Raymond:…and that is all Lady Griselda.

Raymond right now was not wearing the priest robes he had earlier but rather blood red hooded robes that had the cross symbol at the back the outfit also had pieces of armor attached to it, probably used for combat.

Griselda: Good Raymond I’m glad there weren’t many disturbances in my abscence.

If someone who didn’t know the inner workings of the church saw this scene they would be shocked since Raymond Twon’s position in the church was very high, he was someone that could even directly reject a cardinal’s order without punishment.

But for most people this wouldn’t be suprising considering Griselda’s identity and power.

[Demonic swordswoman] That was the nickname of Griselda Quarta before she reincarnated as an Angel, Her swordsmanship was enough to call her a “Demon” and her own battle power was on the upper levels of the Ultimate Rank and after reincarnation she was able to advance from Ultimate Rank and get a battle power of God Rank.

Aside from personal strenght her group and the excorcists personally trained by her were all elites and that was before reincarnation, After her transformation she actually became the Queen of one of the Seraphs, Gabriel The king of Hearts. (The king is a “She”)

So it was not that suprising that someone like Raymond showed genuine respect for Griselda since practically she was a living legend! As well as his predessor. That’s right Griselda was the last holder of Raymond’s position but even now he listens to her orders like she never left her position. Her position and influence allowed her words to be taken seriously even by the Pope.

Raymond: Lady now can we talk about the “Young master” (Awkward)

The serious and authorative look Griselda had practically disappeared and she inwardly chuckled, Oh how she loved teasing people. Another habit only known by the people close to Griselda She had a playful personality, even her becoming Gabriel’s Queen was through a game of “Uno”

Griselda: What I’m not mother material to you (fake seriousness)

Raymond: (Yes you arent) No! No! No! i truly didn’t mean it like that.

Griselda: Hahaha

seeing Griselda laugh Raymond had a dazed look since he realized he became a victim of her teasing.

Raymond: Okay Okay don’t give me that look, now lets get serious.

Finally the real conversation began and Griselda told Raymond what happened at the Orphanage as well as her own Observations.

Raymond: Wait then doesn’t that mean the kid is a [Holy Child]. (shocked)

Griselda: It’s think so too thats why i brought him to the Central cross headquarter.

Holy children was a very special term used by the people that were blessed by God, these individuals were known as God’s favorite children and were blessed to be extraordinary they had high abillities with light based techniques and the most greatest thing about them was they were natural born to be able to wield Holy arnaments like [Holy Swords] especially named Holy weapons like Excalibur and Durandal.

But unfortuanately these individuals were very rare but were never the less treasured by the church very much especially when the church today didn’t have a single Holy Child, the closest they had was Xenovia who had an exceedingly large amount of Holy power.

Griselda: Raymond Haruto will without a doudth be trained to become strong BUT he will have full freedom of his choices, we are not going to force him on anything instead our top priority is keeping him safe from the corrupt officials especially the ones from Vatican.

Raymond had a serious look he knew what those power hungry hounds will do one they got their hands on Haruto.

Raymond: Fear not Lady Griselda nothing will become of Young Master.

Griselda: I know But Raymond if possible before Haruto starts training i want you along with everyone to treat him nicely possibly like family since eventually his life will take a turn.

Raymond: My Lady i don’t think you would have to worry about that, if even i grew soft because of that kid earlier i don’t think he’ll have a problem winning the others over as well. (smile)

Griselda: So he already won over the [Church Marshal] Eh?

Raymond: Haha i think he has.

Griselda smiled thinking that this church might actually be colorful in the years to come.
