HIS COLD WIFE - Chapter 9:Wedding Day(1)
“Anna!” Elizabeth called out. Vanessa chuckled. “Don’t you see our best friend is still in shock Ellie?” Anna blinked and turned to look at her best friends.
“Sorry I-” She tried apologizing. Vanessa sighed. “Girl. It’s your wedding day! Show some emotion, cry, scream, shout, do something!” She told her. Anna rubbed her temple and looked at herself in the mirror. “I don’t recognize myself anymore.” She pouted.
Her beautiful face was displayed in the mirror. Her blue eyes were shining brighter than any other day. She had a white dress on and it was made with literal diamonds. Anyone could tell how much the groom pampered her. The tail fell long behind her back and she looked like a real-life princess. She couldn’t believe herself.
It all felt so unrealistic. She sighed. “Fine let’s go.” She said and got up with determination. “I can do this.” She told herself. “Well of course you can. Now let’s go, your dearest is waiting!” Vanessa rushed her.
Ellie smiled and helped her up. They helped her with the tail and they came out of the dressing room. They met with a hallway. The music and chatter could be heard from the other side.
THUMP THUMP
Her heart felt like it would jump out of her chest. She placed her hand in her heart trying to calm herself down. For once in her life, she felt nervous. “The music is starting. David called and your groom will faint if you don’t get there.” Vanessa nonchalantly informed her. “What do you mean is he okay?” Anna asked worriedly.
“Of course he isn’t. He thinks you’re backing out because it’s taking you so long.” Vanessa teased. Ellie nudged her arm. “You’re making her more nervous.” She whispered.
“Come on since when do we get to see this side of our friend. It’s priceless! She finally got tamed.” She responded. Anna glared at her. “Humph! Wait till you get tamed. Let’s see who will have the last laugh. ” Anna warned her and started walking down the hallway.
“Hey! Where are you going!” Ellie ran after her. “To get married of course,” Anna responded. “Oh right!” Ellie grinned and followed after her. “Okay so Annie is in position with the rings and the flower girls are too. Since we are your only two bridesmaids we have to take care of you.” Ellie informed her.
“Yes yes, I know that,” Anna replied in frustration. She heard Vanessa chuckle from behind her. “Tame me? I don’t think any man is capable of that.” She chuckled again.
” Nessa stop this. You’re making me stressed.” Anna told her and turned around to the other side.
“Wait that’s the wrong way!” Ellie called out. Anna turned to face her. “I know that! I’m going back.” She replied.
“WHAT?!” They both shouted in unison.
Anna sighed and her hands shook. She went inside the dressing room and locked the door. She looked at herself in the mirror and sighed again. “Crap! What do I do now? ” She mumbled and rubbed her tummy.
She took deep breaths. She counted back from ten twice. “Anna opened up!” She heard her friends shout.
“Ugh! Why are weddings so complicated?” She complained. “Like I want to marry him but like I don’t!” She talked to herself.
“No no I do like really do. And I love him but like it’s ugh!” She kept talking to herself in front of the mirror. “Will I cry? Omg, will he cry?” She wondered out loud.
“This is nothing like the movies made it look like!” She shouted and slammed her hands on the desk. “Ugh! I’m so freaking nervous.”
” I can’t do this. No no, I can but like I can’t! Right?” She was having a mental breakdown at her own wedding. She was all shaky and paranoid. “It’s probably because I’m pregnant. Yeah, that’s it!” She concluded.
Just then she heard a message come from her phone. She quickly searched for it and the contents of the message shocked her to the core.
‘Don’t forget you started this. You shamelessly married yourself to me that day. If you don’t walk down that aisle right now I will personally drag your ass here. You have two minutes two decide. There is no going back anymore.’ She shivered as she read the message.
Instead of reassuring words, he sent her a threat…great!
“My life is so abnormal.” She complained again. “You’ll pay for this Damon!” She gave in and unlocked the door.
Ellie and Vanessa sighed in relief. “Let’s go.” She told them and they nodded back. They handed her the bouquet of flowers and they walked all the way down the hall until they met with Annie and the flower girls who were part of the Collins and the other two were Ellie’s cousins.
She took a deep breath and clenched the bouquet of flowers in her hand. “I got this.” She murmured. She let every expression on her face fall and she looked like an aloof beauty.
“You got this mom to relax. It’s going to be fun!” Annie cheered. Anna shook her head not being sure about her words.
Vanessa frowned. “No no you did it all wrong try again!” She told her. Anna snapped her head towards her and sent her a glare. “Come on Anna a smile please?” She told her. Anna sighed and rested her face before smiling.
“Is this good?” She asked. “Don’t worry about once she sees her groom she will definitely do it more genuinely,” Ellie assured Vanessa. “Okay let’s get this over with then” Vanessa grinned ready to witness these genuine expressions from Anna.
Anan who was not used to letting her emotions show on her face sighed. Thinking of Damon she sighed again. ‘Love is damn hard. I’m actually getting married for this dumbass.’ She admitted. ‘At least he’s a hot one…” She thought inwardly chuckling.
