His Eccentric Wife - Chapter 10 You And I
Xin Qian woke up early the next morning with a smile on her face. Though she had slept late the previous night and had been extremely tired but the thought of getting married to Wang Yong again, saying her vows, expressing the feelings for him and finally being able to live with him, by his side, protecting him from the danger that was lurking around, all this was enough.
She ran her hands through her hair, ruffling them a bit and let out a groan. She hopped off the and went to stand in front of the full body length mirror. Cupping her cheeks she looked at her reflection with a cheeky grin on her face. Ruffled bed hair looking like a bird’s nest, slightly puffy eyes, misplaced and wrinkled night clothes but she still felt like the most beautiful girl in the world.
“Aahhhh!!” she grinned, extremely happy thinking about the upcoming events, her marriage, her dream wedding! Excited, she started hopping here and there as she started packing the stuff that she would need for the next two days as the rest of her stuff that she had here at her father’s place will be delivered after 2 days and her stuff from her place in New York will be delivered after a week.
Now that reminded her of the little competition that her father had announced the day she had come back from New York.
********Flashback********
In the conference hall of the Zhao Fashion company, Xin Qian, Yu Yan, their father, and a few other representatives were gathered for an urgent meeting called by Mr. Zhao. Nobody had even the faintest of an idea of what was about to happen.
Mr. Zhao began, “I have called this meeting to announce that I am going to retire from my post.” the simple sentence cause an uproar.
“Silence!” he yelled, “I am retiring because of my age and medical issues. It’s getting exhausting for me to manage all our companies. We have young and capable people leading several Zhao businesses but this company had been the closest to my heart because this is this company is the foundation of the Zhao Enterprises, the first step of the Zhao family in the business world.” he announced.
“That is why I want someone from the Zhao family to hold the reins of this company in my stead. Both of my daughters are fashion designers and who will be better to head a fashion company than a fashion designer itself? Now, they both are very competent designers but only one of them will get to lead this company.”
“And the selection will depend on this competition that I have thought of. Xin Qian and Yu Yan, you both will get a time period of 3 months, starting from now to create a fashion line consisting of 10 dresses. The theme that you two have to work on is ‘Fantasy’. After 3 months we will organize a fashion show which will be judged by a panel of 10 anonymous judges and the one to win the competition will get to be the CEO.”
“Any questions?”
********Flashback Ends********
Xin Qian smirked to herself thinking about the collection that she was about to present. At first, she had thought to let it be and not compete because she had her own brand to take care of but on second thoughts she couldn’t help but think about how much dear this company is for her father so she thought to give it a chance and fight the competition fair and square.
“Ah! Look at that smirk, I am so proud of me!” Xin Qian turned and found Abigail eaning against the doorframe with a proud look on her face.
“Shouldn’t you be proud of me instead of yourself?” asked Xin Qian.
“Nope!” Abigail sat on the bed, “I was the one who taught you to be like this, this kind of fierce, cunning, calculating and bold personality is the result of my teachings and companionship. I made you!” exclaimed Abigail making Xin Qian laugh.
“Well, that is kinda true. Had I not met you I still would have been the insecure, shy and timid girl who was hurt because of family problems.” Xin Qian hugged Abigail sideways and laid her head on Abigail’s shoulder, “Thank you for coming in my life and making me what I am today. It’s because of you and the change that you brought in my personality, that I am able to face this hard and dangerous mess that Wang Yong is stuck in.” Xin Qian’s words were genuine and truthful.
“Okay, okay!” Abigail patted Xin Qian’s head, “Now get up and get ready! We need to leave in two hours. Now hurry up! Shooo!” Abigail pushed Xin Qian away from her and towards the washroom. And then went back to her room to freshen up.
As Abigail was walking towards her room she didn’t notice Yu Yan coming her way as she was busy chatting with the cute guy that she met last night. The result of it was the Abigail collided with Yu Yan who was walking around in the semi-conscious state. She was still sleepy but had to wake up because of Xin Qian’s second wedding.
“Who the fuck are you?!” Yu Yan cursed as she rubbed the back of her head trying to soothe the pain.
“Is this how you speak with a guest?” commented Abigail pulling Yu Yan up from the floor.
“Aye!” Yu Yan yelped, “What guest? Why are you here in my house?” she asked with narrow eyes.
“Abby, have you seen Ari? She’s not in her room.” that was Julian. Yu Yan’s eyes widened at his sight, “Now who are you?!” she questioned but Julian ignored her.
“Ah! She went out with Regina and Yi Yi for the morning jog.” informed Abigail while Yu Yan could only watch the two strangers talk.
“Can you make me a cup of coffee?” Julian requested.
“And an orange juice for me! Freshly squeezed.” yelled out Dylan as he joined them.
“Am I a maid of yours? I am not gonna do a thing, go ask somebody else!” Abigail walked away leaving the Yu Yan with the two men.
Yu Yan was looking at Dylan now, her eyes wide in shock and confusion, “What are you doing here?” she asked pointing at Dylan.
“And what the fuck is going on?! Who are you people and why are you here?!” she asked, her tone had hints of anger.
While Julian didn’t want to talk, Dylan, on the other hand, was too lost to say anything. He couldn’t believe that the woman in front of him was real. Even with messy hair and puffy eyes, she was still looking like an angel, just like she looked yesterday. He had thought that she was just an imagination of his, an illusion because of lack of sleep so it was a very pleasant surprise to get to know that his angel was in fact real. Very real and really angelic.
“Excuse me! I am talking to you. Who are you and why are you here?” she asked again.
“These are Xin Qian’s friends, Yu.” the answer came from Zhao Wei, Yu Yan, and Xin Qian’s father.
“Good morning Uncle.” greeted Julian but Dylan was too lost in Yu Yan that he didn’t notice what was happening around him.
Yu Yan made a face and walked away, Dylan’s eyes still following her every move. “Did you see what I see? The angel is real!” muttered Dylan which earned him a smack from Julian. Thankfully Zhao Wei didn’t hear what Dylan had said.
