It’s kind of scary thinking about how the time flies so fast. To Xin Qian, it felt as if she had met Wang Yong a few minutes ago but in reality, today was the night before the day of their Chinese traditional wedding. She was going to marry Wang Yong, she was going to become Mrs. Wang and the said though was proving to be very harmful to her heart and nervous system. She felt as if she would explode if all this didn’t get over sooner. She feared that she might die before getting married.
On the other hand, Wang Yong was in no better condition. He wouldn’t accept it but he was actually kind of counting days and feeling thrilled like a lovesick teenager preparing for his first date with the girl whom he had admired for long. It was all storybooks material for him before but now that he was actually feeling that pre-marriage jitters he felt as if he could relate with the male characters from those cheesy romance novels that he won’t ever admit in front of anybody that he actually liked to read. After all, it was a matter of his image, his reputation.
They weren’t in love, neither did they like each other that much to claim that they were starting to fall for each other. They were just like another couple whose marriage was being arranged but what actually triggered their feelings was the fact that both of them had found a companion, a friend in each other on whom they could depend and share those things that they would never share with anybody else.
Wang Yong liked that Xin Qian wasn’t judgemental of his condition, her bluntness, her bold and frank nature, everything about her was refreshing, interesting and intriguing. He had never met anybody like that and he was really happy that he was marrying Xin Qian who wasn’t like those money loving bimbos and wasn’t scheming and stupid like Yu Yan.
And for Xin Qian, Wang Yong was just another good friend with the exception of the fact that she was actually getting married to this good friend of hers and what was scary was the fact that she could actually see herself liking and later on falling in love with the man. She was in a mess as she was starting to like Wang Yong but didn’t like him enough, too much complicated to actually name the relationship that she had with Wang Yong. He was her comfort, someone whom she got attached to too fast. Someone whom she could actually be truthful about herself.

Wedding Day
Xin Qian was getting ready with the help of the beauticians that had been called by Madam Wang (Wang Yong’s stepmother) which is why she couldn’t refuse even if she wanted to. They were just styling her hair when Xin Qian heard the door of her hotel room open with a bang and entered inside her best friends. With a squeal of happiness Xin Qian stood up from the stool she was sitting on and went up to greet her friends not caring about the little murmurs of protest from the beauticians.
“I thought you guys won’t be able to come!” Xin Qian exclaimed as he smiled at her friends who were all dressed up for the occasion.
Though she had stayed in China for most of her life she never had a true friend here. It wasn’t anybody else’s fault, it was just that she was too shy during her school days. But everything changed when she was sent to study abroad. Though it was kind of a scheme of her stepmother to send her away so that Yu Yan could take her place but in her father’s heart nobody could replace the position she, Xin Qian held.
The first friend that she made was Abigail Wilson, the one who’s responsible for the complete change in Xin Qian’s nature. They actually met because of the lack of sitting space in the restaurant. Xin Qian was already eating her breakfast when suddenly she found herself in the company of outgoing, bold, blunt, vivacious and talkative Abigail. As was her nature that she could never stay quiet for one moment that Abigail started the conversation. It started with their breakfast preferences and ended on their preferences about men. While Xin Qian was studying fashion designing, Abigail was aiming to become reproductive endocrinologist or in her terms, ‘the doctor who will solve your baby making problems’.
Abigail was the one who introduced her to Arianna, Abigail’s sister who was actually in the same class as Xin Qian and then she met Julian Adams, Arianna’s boyfriend. One month, it took those three just one month to become her best friends, someone that she never had before. The next one added to their group was Dylan Wang, a half American half Chinese guy whom she met during an inter-college competition where she had been paired with Dylan. Though they didn’t win the competition, but Xin Qian did earn a great friend that day.
Dylan was the one one who brought Regina into their group, the same Regina who was responsible for her tattoo. And the last one to join their group was Dylan’s cousin, Li Yi Feng who became Xin Qian’s boyfriend first and date her for two long years before they broke things off. The reason being that they were extremely good best friends but not even good lovers. And this paved Li Yi Feng’s path into their group.
They were actually a group of misfits, 2 fashion designers (Xin Qian and Arianna), one reproductive endocrinologist (Abigail), one chief of police (Li Yi Feng), one famous actor (Dylan), a tattoo artist (Regina) and a criminal lawyer (Julian). It was crazy how they met and got together, it’s even crazier how close seven of them became in spite of their differences but what mattered the most was the bond they shared, ‘All for one & One for all!’.
“And miss your wedding? D’uh girl! You are mistaken that we would miss your wedding for other things.” Dylan kissed her cheek and handed her the small gift box that he was carrying before flopping down on the bed, “Ah! I am so tired!” he complained.
The beauticians present in the room were shocked by the presence of China’s precious gem and world-famous superstar Dylan Wang. “You can leave now, we are kinda overtaking your job.” was all that Abigail said before pushing the beauticians out of the room.
While Arianna, Regina, and Abigail began to glam up Xin Qian for the wedding, Dylan decided to take a power nap while Julian and Li Yi fend began to read a few things that they had saved on their tablet. A detailed file on Wang Yong.
“He’s an overall nice guy, which is why we approved this marriage.” said Li Yi Feng.
“Yep, we couldn’t find even a speck of dirt on him. It’s quite unbelievable though, how can anybody be this good and perfect?” that came from Julian.
The girls, all snorted at Julian’s remark, “He’s been like this since the moment he got to know that you are getting married.” informed Arianna, “Seriously Julie, do you even realize that by making that statement you are putting yourself, Yi Yi and D in a bad light?” now that had Julian narrow his eyes at his girlfriend.
“I am just being careful.” Julian reasoned.
“More like paranoid.” Arianna said before walking over to Julian and pecking his lips lightly, “Now shut up!” she said making Julian pout like a child. Who could tell by his current expressions that he’s actually the topmost criminal lawyer in the world?!
Li Yi Feng smiled, “He’s good. We know that you don’t care about his physical condition and we all are cool with it but are you really sure that you want to spend you like with him?”
Xin Qian stared at the image of Li Yi Feng that was reflected in the mirror, “101% sure.” she smiled and her friends, with the exception of Dylan who was sleeping, smiled in return.

Xin Qian was in her room with her father, spending some father-daughter time alone while her friends were in other room that they had booked, discussing something that they hadn’t told Xin Qian yet.
“Should we really tell her about this?” Dylan pinched the bridge of his nose, stressed about the situation.
“If Wang Yong is exactly the guy his file says then he must have known about this already.” pointed out Julian.
“Exactly and if he knew that he must have dealt with it, no?” asked Arianna.
“And the culprit was caught, right?” the question came from Regina.
“But he was found dead before further investigation.” told Li Yi Feng.
“You think that the main guy behind this is still out there? Are you sure?” Abigail asked.
Li Yi Feng nodded in positive and said, “The investigation was rushed, it wasn’t the quick kind of thing but actually rushed as if they were trying to prove that the suspect guy was actually the culprit. I have seen the files and the proofs to the claim they made weren’t enough. And the circumstances in which that man died are suspicious as well.”
“So if what you are saying is true, if what you think is true that not only is Wang Yong in danger but Qi Qi is in danger as well!” exclaimed Arianna.
“Let’s wait for the wedding ceremonies to be over, we can tell her about this later.” Regina suggested.
“I agree, but the sooner we tell her the better it is.” commented Abigail.
“She must be made aware that the accident in which Wang Yong lost his ability to walk wasn’t an accident. It was actually an attempt to murder him. Someone had deliberately tampered with the breaks.” added Li Yi Feng.
