Christopher’s mom turns her head to look at her son. “Good thing that Liam is not with you. He wouldn’t be needed here.”

Meanwhile, on her way to the dining room, Charlotte heard what her mom said! She frowns as she continues walking towards them. “What’s wrong about Liam being here?”

Christopher, Kaylee, and her mom look at her simultaneously.

Her mom frowns as she looks at her daughter. “He’s not needed here. Don’t tell me that you’re going to defend him again!”

Charlotte bites her lower lips and looks at her mom. “So what if I am? Yes, he is not needed here but you don’t have to say that it is a good thing that he’s not here! That’s so rude!”

Christopher and Kaylee didn’t say a word. They just let the two talk.

“Charlotte, if you keep on defending him in front of me, especially in front of your father, you’re going to regret it! Don’t act as if you like him if you want him to live as it is now. And if you want to see and hang out with him you better…” She sighed and didn’t say what she’s going to say.

Seeing his sister in a tight situation, Christopher can’t help it but interfere. “Mom! Don’t you and dad dare to lay a hand on my people, especially their personal lives? I don’t care about the others, but Liam, Kaylee, and Anna are my people. I hired them personally and it has nothing to do with the both of you! Try laying a finger on them and I am the one you’ll be facing!”

His mom looks at him and sighed once again. “Are you defending him too?”

Christopher held his mom’s hand. “Mom! Liam is my person. And most of all, he is my best buddy, my most trusted friend!”

His mom looks away. “And you’re okay even if your sister likes him?” She asked.

Charlotte covers her mouth with her right hand as her eyes widen looking at her mom. “Mom, you knew?”

Her mom sneers and looks at her. “Of course I knew, you are my daughter.” She looks at Christopher, then to Kaylee and then back to Charlotte. “Is just that, with Kaylee here, how am I going to back you up to your father? I can only help one. If both of you break your father’s rules I don’t know what will happen. Maybe he would send us far away and your good brother will get what he wants!”

Christopher put his arm into his mom’s shoulder. “Mom, you don’t have to help me out, just don’t take away Char’s happiness. She’s precious to us, remember?”

His mom hid his hand. “Stupid why do you need to hire Liam and Kaylee if it will end up like this?”

Christopher laugh. “Mom, as I’ve said Liam is my most friend if I’m going hire my personal assistant It should be the most trusted right?”

His mom looks at him sharply. “How about her?” She asked as she pointed Kaylee.

Christopher was taken aback. He looks at Kaylee then to Charlotte, then to her mom and to Kaylee again. “I… She… She’s qualified.”

Kaylee didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry. ‘Madam, I was hired to satisfy your son’s need actually.’ She thought to herself.

She raises her right eyebrow. “Is that so?”

Christopher held his mom in her shoulder and help her sat down in front of the table. “Mom let’s eat first.”

Charlotte looks at her brother and mouthed ‘Thank you!’

Christopher smiles at her and mouthed ‘No problem!’
