His soul - Chapter 34:Julian's job
In the middle of the dark night a black Range Rover car appeared to enter the Sanders family’s residence, the driver of the car seemed very familiar with the situation around the mansion even though he was an outsider.
After successfully stopping his car neatly under the shade of palm trees that lined up neatly in the courtyard of the spacious three-story house, the driver of the car then got out of his car and rushed to the side of the house which had quite good lighting, that guest was seen carrying a black map in his left hand.
“Good evening, madam.” The man greeted an old woman who still looked beautiful who had been waiting for him for fifteen minutes.
“Evening Patrick, sorry if I asked you to come over to my house right away. I can’t wait to see a photo of my granddaughter.” The old woman who turned out to be the hostess immediately got to the point after apologizing to Patrick, the mysterious guest.
Patrick’s smile widened at the words of his best friend’s mother, without being asked twice Patrick then gave her the folder he had been holding. “In this folder all the information about Sandra’s daughter is located, even her current residence address is also in the folder, madam.”
“My granddaughter,” Barbara said hoarsely, she was mesmerized by Gina’s beauty which she had neglected for so long. Gina’s beautiful green eyes looked the same as those of Selena and Rosa that Julian had inherited from them.
“If I’m being honest, Gina is Julian’s most beautiful and perfect child. She’s sweet, obedient and definitely never gets into trouble like her two stepsisters,” Patrick said honestly without fear.
Barbara Sanders smiled. “My two grandchildren are too spoiled, Patrick. Don’t blame them, they’re still teenagers. It’s only natural to be a little out of control.” Barbara Sanders tries to defend Selena and Rosa.
“Ck, you’re just like…”
“Just like who, Patrick Davidson?” Suddenly from behind Barbara appeared an old man who was known to be very anti-Patrick, who seemed to be walking with sturdy steps even though he was not young.
Patrick wet his lips. “Just as you are always proud of the child of another man as the first child of this family,” said Patrick sarcastically.
Yohanes Sanders’ jaw clenched. “Diego is Julian’s son by law, so it’s only natural that I boast about him in front of all my colleagues.”
“Yes, yes, yes, I understand, sir, I have known you for more than 30 years, sir. I have memorized your attitude,” said Patrick, embarrassed to try to cut off the conversation with Yohanes and immediately turned his gaze back to Barbara. “Because my job is done, I want to go home, madam. Being rejected by my best friend’s daughter makes me a little hurt, even though I am the uncle of one of the important people who witnessed the marriage of his parents.” Patrick deliberately brought up Julian and Sandra’s marriage 19 years ago which was always considered invalid by Yohanes, Patrick’s arrival that night really made Yohanes Sanders’ blood sugar rise.
“Wait kid, what did you say earlier? Gina rejected you? Why did she reject you?” Barbara asked curiously.
“Why do you ask again, of course because the girl is as wild as her mother who managed to bewitch Julian that time.” Yohanes knowingly answers Barbara’s question by continuing to use his hatred for Sandra who he calls a witch for being able to subdue Julian, even though during his stay in Barcelona young Julian was very cold to women. But by the time he moved to London to continue his work all that coldness disappeared and he immediately fell in love with Sandra.
“Gina threw me away because she was tired after being out on the streets looking for work, unlike your three grandchildren who can only spend their father’s money,” Patrick said in a rising voice, wanting Patrick to throw a punch at John who still hasn’t changed.
Barbara let out a small shriek and immediately covered her mouth with her hands so that the map and pictures of Gina she was holding were scattered on the ground.
“Are you serious about my granddaughter looking for a job? But didn’t she just graduate from high school?” Barbara asked hoarsely.
Patrick nodded. “The genes that Sandra passed on to her are extraordinary, madam, so you shouldn’t be surprised.”
Once again Barbara gave a small shriek, her chest aching when she found out that the granddaughter she had never considered was living in pain in Barcelona. In a swift motion the old woman approached Patrick.
“Please take my granddaughter home Patrick, use all means to bring her home. Help me atone for my guilt towards her and Sandra, Patrick. At least at my age that won’t be long enough to let me do good,” Barbara said softly with hope as she tightly gripped Patrick’s hand. .
Patrick was silent and glanced at Yohanes who was seen looking at one of the photos of Gina under his feet, a photo of Gina enjoying a hotdog with her application letter on a chair.
“I beg you son, please help me atone for all my sins to Sandra,” Barbara added again, turning Patrick’s gaze to Yohanes.
Patrick looked back at Barbara Sanders who had tears in her eyes. “I’ll help you if Julian asks, after all Julian is the real father. He’s the one who should bring the poor girl back to her family home, not me, madam.”
