Hopeless Desire of a Witch - Chapter 6
She was going to seriously attack her, after seriously thinking about it. She went inside the blanket trying to wake up Irene, and then she jumped down pressing her nose and mouth with her immerging round belly plugging down.
Irene, who had been hurt several times, already knew the pain and pressure of the moment. She hurriedly threw the blanket and got up.
“Please spare me. Last night I slept so late, now I think I’m going to die.”
“Sister, are you going to leave me?”
The assailant, who succeeded in waking Irene, tilted her head. Her violet-colored eyes looked up at her pure and straight. Then hearing her words, her eyes turned wide, full of shock. Eirine recently learned the vague concept of death. It was because she just recently watched one of her beloved rabbits cross the Rainbow Bridge.
“No, no! Absolutely not!”
Irene couldn’t judge the words she could and couldn’t say. She hugged Eirene, and shook her head violently. At the same time, she made a gesture of crying and lamented inwardly. This damn mouth. Damn tongue!
Raising Eirine, which the stork left behind…5 years have already passed. At first, I tried to find an orphanage to keep her from starving. I often heard that the orpahnage’s environment was poor, but I thought there was nothing I could do about it. Irene had no experience with raising a baby, and she herself did not have any good parenting.
It was because I was not sure about the future, so, as the next possible solution, I considered entrusting her to a shrine that has an orphanage.
However, that determination disappears the moment Erene opens her eyes. Violet eyes similar to Irene’s purple eyes. The moment I met her blinking eyes, I felt that time had stopped.
Eirene burst into tears for the first time since coming to her house. It’s a small tacit secret between the two of them. No matter how hard she sweats, or how old she is, she doesn’t need to endure her cries and can cry with her.
In spite of the goat milk she had prepared to avoid visiting Aunt Zelda, Irene eventually had to seek help from the villagers.
Irene ran to the village with Eirene in her arms, full of cold sweat. Everyone in the village including Aunt Zelda, saw her and she said, “It felt like yesterday, when you were just a little witch. But now, before I know it, you are now an adult, raising a baby…”
In any case, through countless trials and errors, Irene leveled with Erene for 5 years.
“My cute little sister has grown so fast that I won’t die until she’s the same size as me.” Irene shook Eirene’s head and embraced her in her arms. That child was now a family member she gently held as Eirene was about to pull her hair out.
“I’m not going to leave either, sister.”
