Hopeless Desire of a Witch - Chapter 8
Not only was Eirene clever, even though she was still young, she was very courageous. She diligently wakes up Irene, who is lazy and always sleepy, early in the morning everyday. And now, she can take care of herself, by climbing to the chair using a footrest and sitting down at the dining table.
When Irene brought two handkerchiefs, she was good at keeping one of them in her lap, then hanging the other around her neck with her hands, to prevent the food from slashing on her clothes.
There are more. For example, it was still too much for Eirene to pick up a heavy milk bottle and pour it in a cup, so Irene slightly modified the milk container so that the child could drink milk alone.
Eirene was holding the cup with her small hands, she put it under the canister and then pressed the lever.
As the milk container titled and the milk was poured into the cup, Irene fell into an illusion of being alone.
Even if she teaches something difficult like that, she can easily follow along.
Irene put the bowl of potato soup and shredded bread in front of Eirene, who was sipping milk as she waited for the food to cool down properly. When I first made Eirine eat by herself, I didn’t give the food to her until it had cooled down a bit, because I once suffered a burn, when I didn’t realize the food was still hot.
She put Aunt Zelda’s bread in the soup. Even though the dishes in their everyday menu are as simple as softening the bread in a soup, it was Eirene’s favorite.
“Sister.”
“Huh?”
“Did you make money yesterday?”
Eirene gaze felt, she spoke to Irene while looking at her plump hands that were busy with spooning.
“Yeah, I made a lot.”
“How much?”
“Well…enough to make a birdhouse for Lulu to hide her collected food in the backyard, buy some snacks for Pepe, and even buy some toys that could make Sasha want to come over?
Lulu is a squirrel, Pepe is a fawn that Irene recently met, and Sasha is a wild tabby cat. Animals used to follow Irene well, probably she was a mixed blood of fairies, who are friendly with nature. Of course, strictly speaking, most of the animals regarded her as a human butler.
Irene, who was able to communicate with animals to a certain extent, even if it was not in a lever where they can have conversation like a pure fairy could, she helped Eirene make anime friends one by one. I was slightly hoping the child, who would be happy to name each of her animal friends one by one, would be able to talk to the animals as well, but…in the end, her suspicion that it was a baby abandoned by the territorial Elf clan, unfortunately, ended in doubt.
Eirene is definitely a human baby.
