How to Get My Husband on My Side - Chapter 152
“Why are you alone on the day you become a knight, Andy? Do you not have any friends?”
“Why are you alone today? Are you being bullied?”
“Wait, what kind of meat is this exactly? The smell is suspicious.”
“It’s giraffe meat. The Rembrandt people brought it out fresh…”
“Ew, they really can eat anything.”
Camu and Andymion pretended to gag playfully.
The surroundings were bustling with noise.
The lavishly decorated banquet hall was filled with an enormous number of people, all laughing, talking, and fighting simultaneously, which was to be expected.
However, amidst it all, the actions of a certain pompous man standing near the dance floor caught everyone’s attention irresistibly.
“My Lady…”
Galar spoke.
The legendary bear of the Longinus Knights displayed an exceedingly powerful presence.
In front of him stood a pitiful deer-like Yount Lady, her eyes wide with fear.
“Yes?”
“Did you… receive it?”
“What are you talking about?”
“The letter I wrote with all my heart…”
“Yes?”
“That yellow piece of paper…”
“Yes? Oh, that suspicious letter! You didn’t happen to send it to me, did you?”
“…”
I can’t bear to look any longer.
While having such thoughts, Camu felt his anger rising little by little.
And it seemed that Andymion was also suddenly becoming displeased.
“Even though he’s my brother, he doesn’t seem to have developed any intelligence at all.”
“Are there only idiots around us? I feel like I’ve had enough seeing this idiotic bear cub.”
“Me too. I’d rather poke my eyes out.”
“Ah, but still, isn’t he better than Ivan?”
Both of them turned their gaze towards where Ivan was.
Ivan was standing next to Ellenia near a relatively quiet window, whispering something to her eagerly.
He looked so ecstatic that you wouldn’t find a single flower blooming like that anywhere else.
“It’s annoying.”
“Kind of, yes.”
“Even those disgusting guys have partners.”
“That’s how the world is. Still, cheer up, you are not alone anymore, right?”
“Young ones, worry about yourself. Who would want to pair up with those other two? They’ll end up fighting amongst themselves.”
“Well, suit yourself… but isn’t Ezekiel supposed to be promoted soon? Why don’t you try to get along with him?”
“What?”
“Rumor has it that Ruve has found himself a baby instead of a partner. Babies can’t help you win wards. So Ezekiel will probably become the most loyal knight soon.”
“Damn, those guys are seriously crazy.”
“Did you just realize that?”
“Were you always this sarcastic? Anyway, speaking of the baby issue, I’m glad that our disgusting top knight- ahem- our kind, will be stuck with a child of his own.”
“Oh, truly a relief. It’s almost poetic justice. Although, I think everyone believes it was a planned announcement…”
“Well, what can you do? Sigh, that kid, how on earth is he so lucky?”
As the two looked in the same direction again, this time, they saw the queen.
She was surrounded by people, responding to the pouring congratulations.
“Somehow, today she looks even more…”
Andymion trailed off vaguely.
Camu didn’t say anything, but he secretly agreed.
Perhaps it was because of the exciting news that had just been announced, or maybe it was the heat of the summer evening party.
Wrapped in a brilliant summer dress, Rudbeckia appeared exceptionally beautiful today.
Like a blossoming flower, her bright blue eyes sparkled, and her wavy golden hair and cheeks exuded a warm vitality.
Though she didn’t seem to be aware of it herself.
“Your Highness.”
Someone approached Rudbeckia, who had momentarily stepped away from the bustling crowd to catch her breath.
Her round blue eyes widened as she looked at the unexpected person.
“Ruve?”
“Oh, don’t be startled. There’s nothing to worry about.”
“Did I? Did I look like I was startled?”
“I was just kidding. Anyway, it’s a bit late, but congratulations. It’s really joyful news.”
As Ruve smiled subtly while speaking, Rudbeckia felt her words stuck in her throat.
There was no particular reason to be surprised, but hearing such words from this person felt strangely unfamiliar.
“Thank you, really…”
“Don’t mention it. I hope he resembles you, Your Highness, and not that idiot.”
“Haha, everyone keeps saying that, so it might become true. By the way…”
“Yes?”
“I heard that Ruve has become a father first.”
“Oh, that. Well, you must have heard already. Did my not-so-witty father bother you too?”
“Oh, no, not at all. I just got curious why you suddenly made that decision.”
Though it’s not something I should concern myself with, Rudbeckia added, blinking her innocent eyes as she looked at the knight with the eyepatch.
There was a pure and innocent energy emanating from her unknowing face.
After looking at her for a moment, Ruve smiled and shrugged.
“There’s no special reason. I just felt like doing it all of a sudden.”
“I see.”
Night was gradually falling, and fireworks were bursting into the sky, starting from the square.
As the waiters carried dishes to the makeshift table, Rudbeckia sat on a bench and gazed at the sky adorned with the fireworks.
“Wow, it’s beautiful…”
“It sure is.”
Murmuring quietly, Izek was looking somewhere other than the sky.
Rudbeckia was too engrossed in enjoying the fireworks to pay much attention.
“…Should we leave this place?”
“What?”
“I want to say that, but I guess I’ll have to wait for the next opportunity.”
Right now, it was because of the queen’s condition, but even on regular days, it was ridiculous that they can’t have an outdoor date, while she could freely go out to see that damn reptile.
Rudbeckia’s curly golden hair leaned against Izek’s shoulder as he swallowed his complaints.
“I’m trying to think of a name for the baby in advance. What do you think would be good?”
“Our child… well, it’s still unknown whether it will be a prince or princess. I’d prefer a princess, though.”
“Why not decide on both?”
The multicolored fireworks continued to paint the summer night sky.
The festival night was growing deeper and deeper.
