How To Melt the Ice Lady - CH 85
“The sudden start of an exciting, unannounced, psychological test begins!!!”
“Now that’s what I’ve been waiting for!”
“No, we were not waiting for anything.”
During the lunch break, the usual members gathered at Asahi’s desk today.
Then, came an exciting unannounced psychological test.
Hinami declared in a high voice, and took out a magazine along with her lunch box.
“‘A test that will see through your heart, guaranteed to work special’?”
“Fuyuka, you don’t have to read that.”
Fuyuka who loved romance novels and had a bit of a romantic streak in her. This was something common among women, so it was probably inevitable that she would be interested in psychological tests.
“Without further ado, first question!”
Hinami proceeded with a question, to which Fuyuka and Chiaki were interested and Asahi reluctantly listened.
“What will you do to keep yourself occupied while waiting for your lover on a snowy night?”
There were four options.
The answers were neatly divided into four.
“’This is your level of pure love. In other words, it shows the degree of sincerity you have for your lover.’”
Hinami happily read out the results.
Then somebody got very loud.
“Hey, what’s so wrong with contacting your friends? Isn’t it fine? I don’t understand why it’s so bad to contact your friends! I’m a hundred percent in love with you, Hina!”
“I know, I know. I can feel your love, so don’t worry so much about it, okay?”
A noisy Chiaki and a happy Hinami.
‘Where did the psychological test go to?’ Asahi though. What was left was the lovebirds flirting.
Hinami chose “B” and was also somewhat dissatisfied with the 70% pure love level.
“Asahi-kun, your pure love level is quite low.”
“‘Thirty percent,’ it says. Surely everyone plays games, right?”
“Did you perhaps…have an affair?”
“No, what’s with that suspicion?”
“Because the results of the guaranteed to work psychological test is…”
“Psychological tests are just for fun, so don’t take them seriously. Also, there are no absolutes in this world.”
Asahi tried to explain, but for some reason, Fuyuka stared at him with a fierce glare.
Fuyuka chose A, and the result was a hundred percent pure love.
‘Although that’s probably something that is absolute,’ Asahi thought.
To escape Fuyuka’s gaze, Asahi suddenly looked out the window.
“Hey, was it supposed to rain today?”
“No, it said it was going to be one hundred percent sunny today.”
“Chi-kun, that’s just what the app on your phone says, right?”
“That weather forecast doesn’t come true very often, does it…?”
Following Asahi, Chiaki, Hinami and Fuyuka also looked out the window.
The sky was covered with gray clouds, and it looked like it was about to start raining.
“Is this what you call cloudy weather?”
“I’m surprised you know it, Chiaki.”
“I’m surprised you know it, Chi-kun.”
“What’s with you guys treating me like trash?!”
Fuyuka giggled as Chiaki lamented.
“Come to think of it, I heard the rainy season will be here soon.”
“Eh…? I hate rain!”
“I know, right? Just the rain makes my mood go down.”
“Yep, yep. When it’s time for school and it’s raining, I feel like taking a day off.”
As he listened to the ‘lovebirds’ rain-hating talk, Asahi inwardly agreed with them.
‘It’s uncomfortable to get wet in the rain, but it’s also a hassle to put up an umbrella to protect yourself from the rain. And if you were to accidentally put your foot on a puddle, everything would be ruined.’
Therefore, rain was an easy target to hate.
“I like rain quite a bit.”
All eyes were on Fuyuka as she quietly muttered.
“I try to avoid getting wet in the rain, but…isn’t the smell or atmosphere of a rainy day wonderful?”
Fuyuka asked for approval, but Chiaki and Hinami had a question mark above their heads.
On the other hand, Asahi could feel where she was coming from.
“I like to sit in a quiet place and listen to the sound of raindrops.”
“Ah, I can see that. It’s kind of calming.”
“Healing music? There’s also something like that. The sound of rain.”
The three of them nodded, and Fuyuka smiled happily.
“But rain on a day when you have plans is a bit of a problem.”
“Yep, that’s important!”
Chiaki responded with a biting smile and glared at the sky with a grudge.
“We have P.E. in the sixth period, and I won’t tolerate it if it rains!”
“He’s so excited to be playing against Yamada.”
“The grudge from the ball game, I’ll return it doubled!”
“Did you have a grudge for losing that time?”
“So it’s revenge for over a year.”
“Yamada, my right foot is on fire!”
As they were exchanging jokes like that, Asahi felt a presence approaching him from behind.
“Did you just call my name?”
When he turned around at the sound of the voice, Asahi saw Ryoma standing there with a fresh smile on his face.
“Speak of the devil. It’s been a hundred years since we met, and now we’re going to settle it here!”
Hinami and Fuyuka laughed hilariously as Chiaki held up his chopsticks as if they were swords.
Ryoma raised his hands flippantly in a pose of surrender, and suddenly turned his gaze to Asahi. Soon after, his deep black eyes turned to Fuyuka.
“Himuro-san, may I have a word?”
“Me?”
“Yeah, I want to talk. Can you make some time after school?”
The classroom buzzed with excitement at his words.
The gazes of people gathered in unison, as if they had been listening.
Chiaki secretly scrunched up his face, and Hinami looked surprised.
All of them must have had the same thought in mind.
In other words, it was a big event: a confession.
It was between the most popular boy in the school and the girl who was once called the ‘Ice Lady.’
The situation, which already attracted so much attention, was captured like a scene from a drama.
However, it was the people in question who knew it better than anyone else.
“I wanted to tell you what I thought of the novel I borrowed the other day. We don’t have much time right now, so I was wondering if we could do it after school.”
This time, their gazes scattered, as if they were looking at each other.
Many of them were disappointed because the content was not what they expected. Among them, there were a few who were relieved. There were also a few students who still had doubts and suspicions.
Speaking of Asahi, it was a thought that was close to certainty.
He already had heard the story beforehand, but he was convinced when his eyes met Ryoma’s.
“You’ve already read it? I’m free after school, I’m looking forward to it.”
What did Fuyuka think about all this?
She happily nodded at Ryoma’s invitation.
“Sorry to have disturbed you.” Ryoma smiled at the answer and moved on to a group of his close friends.
“Ah, it’s raining.”
Someone muttered in a small voice.
Droplets of water tapped on the window glass.
As the rain was about to intensify, Asahi’s folded umbrella seemed unreliable.
